Chapter 32 Civil War Begins
Chapter 32 Civil War Begins
The safehouse had become a tomb of fractured loyalties and fresh corpses. Enzo stood in the blood-soaked main room, gun still warm in his hand, staring at the bodies of three more Valenti captains who had chosen his father over him. The executions had been swift but brutal. The air reeked of gunpowder, blood, and the lingering scent of sex from the claiming that had happened only hours earlier.
Selene stood beside him, still naked under his coat, her body marked by both Enzo and Kael. Damien leaned against the wall, elegant and watchful. Kael paced like a caged wolf, silver eyes burning.
The Valenti family was splitting in two.
Enzo's phone had been ringing nonstop—loyalists versus his father's hardliners. The civil war inside the mafia had officially begun.
"I just executed three of my own men," Enzo said quietly, voice raw. "Men who served my father for decades. All because they refused to accept you."
Selene placed a steadying hand on his arm, feeling the tremor of conflict through the bond. "You don't have to do this for me, Enzo."
He turned to her, eyes dark and tormented. "I'm not doing it for you. I'm doing it because I can't live in his world anymore, not after tasting what we have."
He pulled her close, kissed her slowly, deeply, desperate to drown out doubt. The kiss grew hungry, his hands sliding under the coat, gripping her, lifting her onto the steel table where they had claimed her earlier.
The others watched. Kael's silver eyes darkened with hunger and jealousy. Damien's crimson gaze glowed with quiet approval.
Enzo didn't care who saw. He shoved the coat open, spread her thighs wide, and thrust into her in one powerful motion. Selene cried out, back arching as he filled her. He fucked her hard and deep, hips slamming forward while the bodies of his dead captains lay only feet away.
"This is what I choose," he growled, pounding into her relentlessly. "You. Us. Even if it burns my entire family to the ground."
Selene moaned, wrapping her legs around him. The depravity of being taken in a room full of corpses, while the mafia tore itself apart, only made the bond burn hotter.
Kael stepped closer, unable to resist. He grabbed Selene's face and kissed her fiercely as Enzo continued. The forbidden kiss between siblings sent a dark thrill through them all.
Damien moved in, fangs sinking into her breast as he drank deeply.
The four of them came together in a tangle of limbs and bonds—Enzo claiming her body, Kael devouring her mouth, Damien feeding from her blood. Selene came with a broken sob, her body shaking violently between the three powerful men.
Enzo's knot swelled and locked deep inside her. He roared as he flooded her womb, marking her while the others continued their own claims.
When it finally ended, Selene lay trembling on the table, his seed leaking from her and mixing with blood on the floor.
Enzo pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly. "I'm declaring it tonight," he whispered against her hair. "Publicly. You are my queen. The Valenti family will follow me… or burn with my father."
Kael nodded, silver eyes fierce. "And the Silverfangs who stand with me will follow her."
Damien smiled darkly. "Then the real civil war begins."
They moved out before sunrise.
Enzo called an emergency meeting at one of the few remaining loyal warehouses. Over fifty captains and soldiers gathered, tension thick in the air. Many had already chosen sides.
Enzo stood on the raised platform, Selene at his side, hand in hand. Kael and Damien flanked them.
"I will say this once," Enzo announced, voice carrying across the room. "Selene Voss is my mate. My queen. She carries the bond and the prophecy. Any man who raises a hand against her raises it against me. Choose now. Loyalty to me... or loyalty to my father."
The room erupted—murmurs, shifting feet, a spark of chaos flickering at the edges.
Before it could ignite, Selene stepped forward, slipping free from Enzo's protective hold. Her voice rang out, clear and unwavering:
"Enough."
The word cut through the noise, commanding the room. Every pair of eyes turned to her some wary, some hostile, all uncertain.
"I know what you think of me. An outsider. A threat. But I am not here to destroy what you built. I'm here because your world is already bleeding itself dry." She paused, letting her words settle, gaze sweeping the crowd. "You can keep fighting for scraps, for old grudges and dead men's shadows. Or you can fight for something more, your future, your families, your freedom from a war that never ends."
A heavy silence fell. Some men shifted, faces flickering with doubt and hope.
Selene's chin lifted, shoulders squared. "I will not beg for your loyalty. But if you stand with us, I swear you will have a queen who bleeds for you. Who fights for you? Who will not waste your lives for her pride."
She looked to Enzo, then back to the crowd, fierce and unshakable.
"Choose now. Not for me. For yourselves."
For a moment, there was only a collective breath of soldiers waiting, weighing their fates. Then, chaos ignited. Some men stepped forward, some hesitated, and a few reached for their guns.
The civil war inside the Valenti family exploded in real time.
Gunfire rang out. Fists flew. Wolves and humans clashed as loyalties shattered.
Enzo fought at the front, protecting Selene with his body and his bullets. Kael tore through disloyal wolves with primal fury. Damien moved like death itself, shadows ripping apart those who dared to aim at Selene.
When the dust settled, over half the room lay dead or surrendered.
Enzo stood victorious, bloodied and breathing hard. Selene pressed against his side, no longer just a prize, but his partner.
He had chosen her.
Publicly.
Permanently.
The Valenti empire would never be the same.
But as they stood among the bodies of men who had once called him brother, Enzo felt the weight of his choice settle heavily on his shoulders.
He had started a civil war for her.
And he would finish it the same way.
With her by his side.
