Chapter 82 — NATHAN IS THE ROGUE IMMORTAL.

It all started to make sense to Ethan, why that memory wasn’t Amara’s but the rogue immortal’s. Nathan didn’t die that day, instead he was bent of revenge which immediately answered his question about why the hell was the rogue immortal out to destroy his life. Also it was no coincidence that he happened to posses a body with the same name as him. Over the years he had lost interest in Amara, and was now obsessed in using her to bring Ethan down no matter what. That was insanely sick.

“Ethan Blackwood, Second question,” the voice said.

“What did immortal mean by an incoming war that had to do with both Amara Morgan and me?” Ethan asked and then immediately, a book appeared in his hands.

“Nathan came here years ago and this same book was given to him. All his knowledge about the gem of Destruction and Fate and Destiny lies there, the prophecy that he learned about you and the female mortal also lies there, the reason he used against you lies there. Read it and understand yourself. Last question?”

Ethan immediately tightened his grip on the book, “How does Amara Morgan awaken her full power without disintegrating and damnation?”

“Amara Morgan has no way out of this. She indeed plays a special role in the upcoming war, but cannot awaken her full powers. If she does, Arcata’s awakening would be cut short almost immediately. I am sorry but there is no remedy to that. Arcata chose the wrong body to reincarnate. Only she can decide how to go about this, but to do that she has to be fully awake and aware which is as good as killing her.”

After Ethan heard this, his spirits dropped, he no longer knew how to awaken Amara’s Arcata within. If people were to find out about her, they would just chase her for nothing. Even Pearl saw that, so she didn’t bother to ask more about her.

“Alrond Blackwood, first question?”

Alrond who had been listening in immediately lifted his head up and answered, “who does my brother gain his strength in full capacity again?”

His voice sounded so desperate, like he was trying to force it out immediately before he forgets.

“Your brother is already a doomed man, and there is nothing he can do. Once a wolf gives half or more of his life source, it impossible to gain it back. So sorry my fellow, but you just wasted a question, second question?”

Ethan looked at Alrond with worry, he saw how much Alrond cared deeply for him. He wanted to reached out and drag him into a hug, but he could only stand there and say to Alrond, “Do not worry, I will be fine.”

“My second question is, what is the fate of Zathkanan Palace?” Alrond asked.

“Blissful as always.”

“Does that mean that we survive the war?” Alrond asked.

“Wars have so many casualties and death, so not all would,” the voice answered.

Alrond felt the answer was odd, but he continued asking his questions.

“My third question is, how do we defeat the rogue immortal, I mean Nathan and destroy the gem in his possession?”

“Only Arcata can destroy her creations. As for a way to defeat Nathan, all you need is a backlash from the gem of Destruction. Once this happen, you can strike again.” The voice answered.

“A backlash like what happened when he got sealed away from Amara’s mind?” Around asked and the voice made a sound of acknowledgment.

“That means, cut of his power supply?” Ethan asked and the voice agreed.

After this there was a brief silence before the voice spoke again, “take the book with you, it has everything else that you need. I hope we don’t meet again,” and with that, the voice disappeared. Ethan and Alrond made their way back to the speed boat, and while they were on their way back, they turned back to see the island slowly fading away.

“We came at the right time then,” Alrond said and Ethan nodded. Ethan then noticed that since that sacrifice they both made, Alrond had been rather quiet. He kept thinking if Alrond had sacrifice something that he held dear to his heart, so he decided to ask, but Alrond shoved the question away, telling him that it was no big deal and that he would soon get over it.

Alrond gestured at the ancient book in Ethan’s hands.

“Let us see what is says,” he said and Ethan nodded.

They spent their while journey reading the book and they were shocked with what they had found. Apparently, there was a prophecy about Amara’s awakening, the war and the tragic love between an alpha and a mortal which that each present would bring misery to the other. Ethan’s heart ached at this. He knew the reason, Nathan or rather the rogue immortal tried to set them up romantically was because if they had fallen in love, unspeakable tragedy would befall both him and Amara. The way the book had put it, it was a kind of suffering Ethan didn’t ever want to happen. Pearl had also threatened Amara severally and with a weak body like this, he felt completely miserable.

He told Alrond that he was willing to let Amara go if this was how tragic the whole situation was going to end. Alrond acknowledged that by giving a slight smile. He reached out to pat his brother’s shoulders slowly.

“You must me really sad about such a decision, but I told you once before, that it was for the best,” Alrond said.

Ethan nodded. The prophecy too terrified him. It spoke of the war and blood bath that is to befall Silverwood, the dark days set to come and also said one thing that he was yet to understand. The one that has their soul broken and waits for the return of their lover. Most times prophecies are never explainable, but he was sure it may or may not have something to do with the relationship between Amara and him.

Meanwhile, back in Northside Silverwood, Amara began to get no calls at all from Ethan almost like he had ghosted her. She thought he was just resting from his travels, but after waiting on days, days turned to weeks, and weeks turned to month. She saw no sign of Ethan at all. She had even heard that he resigned from the Northside Silverwood Organization. This was troublesome indeed that she decided to find out why this had happened.
