Chapter 59 59

Chapter 59 59
The door opened without warning.

Lucian lifted an eyebrow as the unexpected visitor stepped inside, irritation flickering across his face.

“Have you seriously forgotten the art of knocking?” he asked dryly.

A friendly smile spread across Tiara’s face as she quietly closed the office door behind her.

“My apologies, Alpha Lucian,” she said politely. “The door was already open, so I assumed it was alright to come in.”

Lucian’s eyes drifted toward the door before returning to her. He let out a weary sigh and rolled his eyes.

“Maybe I should ban you from entering this office altogether,” he said flatly. “I don’t want you coming here anymore, Tiara. We have no reason to see each other.”

The smile on Tiara’s face faltered, replaced by visible hurt.

“Come on, Alpha Lucian,” she pleaded softly. “Haven’t we been friends all this time? Are we not friends anymore?”

Lucian met her gaze with a cold, unwavering stare, his brows knitting into a deep frown.

“To be honest, Tiara, I never considered you a friend.”

His words landed like a hammer.

“You were assigned to me by the Elders, nothing more. Your services are no longer needed, and I’m more than capable of handling my own affairs now.”

His voice hardened.

“So it’s time for you to move on. Leave my office… and leave my life. Find your own mate and stop inserting yourself where you don’t belong.”

Silence settled between them.

Tiara stood frozen, the pain in her eyes impossible to miss.

Lucian noticed it.

He simply didn’t care.

To him, she had become nothing more than an unwanted interruption.

She drew in a shaky breath before speaking again.

“You still need me, Alpha Lucian.”

Her voice carried quiet determination.

“I’ve spent years preparing to become a Luna. I understand what an Alpha needs. I know your responsibilities, how this pack functions, and how to support you in leading it.”

She hesitated before adding,

“Can Amelia truly do that? Does she even understand what it means to stand beside an Alpha? I doubt she knows anything about running a pack… or how to help you shoulder its burdens.”

Her words sharpened.

“How can she be your Luna if she can’t fulfill a Luna’s duties? What kind of heir could she even raise?”

Lucian pinched the bridge of his nose, suppressing an irritated sigh.

It was always the same argument.

Over and over again.

Finally, he lowered his hand and looked at her.

“Seriously, Tiara?”

His patience had all but disappeared.

“You keep repeating the same speech every time you come here. It’s exhausting.”

His voice grew colder.

“I’m tired of hearing it. I know exactly what you’re trying to do, but you need to accept reality.”

“I’ve found my mate.”

“And she isn’t you.”

“I’ll handle my relationship, my responsibilities, and my pack without your help. So stop showing up here, stop involving yourself in matters that don’t concern you, and move on with your life.”

Tiara refused to back down.

“You’re my concern, Alpha Lucian,” she insisted. “You’re the Alpha of the Night Walker Pack, and this is my home too. I only want what’s best for our pack.”

She took a tentative step toward him.

“Please… let me help you. I still have so much to offer, and I know you see that.”

A knock suddenly echoed through the office.

Both of them instinctively turned toward the door.

Before Lucian could react, Tiara suddenly stumbled forward.

She crashed straight into his lap, her arms instinctively wrapping around his neck to steady herself.

“What the hell…?”

The words barely left his mouth before his eyes found the person standing in the doorway.

Amelia.

She stood frozen, her eyes locked on the compromising scene before her.

Shock.

Disbelief.

Hurt.

All of it flashed across her face in an instant.

“Amelia!” Lucian called out immediately.

He reached out, trying to push Tiara away, but it was already too late.

Amelia turned and stormed off, slamming the office door behind her with enough force to shake the room.

Lucian shoved Tiara off him and shot to his feet, horror quickly giving way to suspicion.

His eyes narrowed.

Tiara looked back at him with practiced innocence.

He wasn’t buying it.

“What exactly are you playing at, Tiara?” he demanded, his voice dangerously low.
