Marcus's POV
"In the coming days, I will start involving you more actively in the affairs of the pack. " my father said. He had tried severally in the past to make me a part of the council but I had declined. Even now I wasn't interested. I tried to protest but he stopped me. "It's high time you focus on the important things in life." He said with a final tone.
I knew better than to argue with my father so I kept quiet.
"You may go now," he said and we both walked out of the throne room"
I asked Nicole if he knew why my father is interested in the two young men and their mysterious object but he is as surprised as I am.
"But who cares? " He is happy with the way you handled things. As far as I am concerned that is what matters." Nicole said.
"In the coming days, I will start involving you more actively in the affairs of the pack." Nicole mimicked my father and we both laughed.
"I can imagine you sitting amid those too-serious chiefs listening to some awfully long presentation and making contributions." He teased me further and I jabbed him jokingly.
"On a serious note though," he said sounding serious." The alpha is right. You have frolicked around enough. It's time to get serious." He said.
"You know how much I hate this life of being a leader" I protested.
" You can't deny your destiny. This is what you were born to do".
"I have to go, man, I will see you at the clearing later in the day," He said and walked away.
I went back to my chambers. Inside my room. I thought about the things Nicole said and I knew he was right.
I will become the alpha someday and I know I need to prepare. I may not know much about leadership but I know a good leader requires wisdom.
I am ie on my bed. I was exhausted and I know a good siesta would do me some good but as I lay there my mind wandered off to what happened earlier with the object.
I tried to relate my father's interest in the object to my father's excitement but I couldn't. I know him to be a smart man. He won't be that happy if he wasn't going to get something out of it.
I couldn't shake off the feeling that my father knows about the magical component of the object but it was not my problem.
Maybe I should let my father handle things now. I am just stressing myself for nothing.
After minutes of rolling around from one end of the bed to another, I finally fell asleep.
I started dreaming about the mysterious ball-like object.
I saw myself inside a vacuum. Everywhere was glowing from the red light rays emitting from the box.
I was floating on air. I stood there wondering where I was.
Then I saw Alyssa emerging from the shadows. She had transformed into a white wolf.
I called her but she didn't answer. Suddenly I heard snarling and growling of werewolves in the shadow.
Then I heard footsteps running towards Alyssa and making the ground vibrate.
Fully transformed werewolves of different colors, sizes, and packs emerged from the shadow. They were over a thousand. Their eyes sparkling with fire. They rushed towards Alyssa ready to tear her apart. Alyssa was staring at the object not aware of what was coming.
I wanted to warn her of the impending danger but I couldn't.
I woke up from my sleep sweating profusely. I knew this wasn't a mere dream. Alyssa could be in danger. I got up immediately and headed to the dungeon.
I need to know what the object was and how my dream relates to it. If Alyssa is in danger I need to know.
I walked hurriedly towards the dungeon not sure how I was going to get them to talk but I know I had to try.
When I got there, I asked the guard in charge to excuse us. I assured them I was a friend, not an enemy.
"I am alpha Prince Marcus and I have only come here to talk," I said sounding as friendly as I could.
One of them had Red hair and the other a black curly hair.
The one with the red hair introduced himself as Kim and the other as Kin.
"Twins?" I asked and they nodded. I saw the similarities as soon as they nodded and I wondered how I didn't notice this striking resemblance earlier.
I told them about what I saw in the object and the dream I had. They both looked shocked.
"Kim looked at Kin gesturing in a way I don't understand. "No," Kin said. The chosen one is a female it can't be him.
I had no idea what they were talking about.
Chosen one? " What do you mean?" I asked.
Kim told me the object contained a trigger. It was meant to awaken a power in the chosen one.
The light it emits carries different messages. He told me they were golden werewolves from a pack beyond the realm of this world.
Their loyalty and everything they lived for is to the chosen one. They came when the object whose name I was told is Zul emitted the green light.
It was a sign that a chosen one had emerged and was ready to start unlocking her powers.
His explanation confused me even more.
What were they talking about? Who is the chosen one and what power are they talking about?
I became fully interested in what they had to say. This sounds like a serious issue and I need to understand it.
As I re-adjust myself, to listen to their strange story. I heard footsteps approaching.
I knew I needed to hide. Seeing me in here with these men is creepy. The last thing I want is for my father to ask questions.
