Alyssa's POV
I watched them go and I couldn't help but admire the way they always stood in unity. On our way back from the meeting I contemplated on whether to inform Ethan about the investigation I have been doing and what I found. I also want to tell him about the strange werewolf in the forest and my dream but I wasn't sure if the timing was right. He has been through a lot these past few months.
"Are you okay Alyssa? " he asked.
"Yes I am okay" I nodded. "But you don't look fine to me. Did something happen in my absence?" he pressed. I hesitated at first but then decided to just tell him everything. I held his hand and we walked to a stream just behind the village.
"So out with it Alyssa," Ethan said rather calmly."What is it that bothers you?"
I told him everything from the first day I started my investigation, my encounter with the intruder, the strange werewolf in the forest, and the dream I had the night before. I took care not to miss any detail. All these while Ethan listened to me attentively as if he was taking care not to forget anything. He thanked me for risking my life to investigate the matter. He understood I was just trying to help but cautioned me for doing it alone. Investigating alone was a dangerous and foolish decision.
"If something had happened to you, I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself," He said in a very serious tone. His eyes grew tender. He looked so concerned about safety in a way that nobody has ever been. Ever since the attack, there is something about the way he talked to me and the way he held my hands that I cannot explain. It's as if something in his body system has been triggered. He cared a lot about me and I couldn't just see it, I could feel it. Ethan has proved to be not just a friend but the family I can only dream of having. Even his pack took me in like I was a part of them. This is why I have to stay with them and try to help in any way I can.
"We should go back now," he said, "I will inform George about your encounter at the village tomorrow. At least now we are sure the seer told the truth. Weldone Alyssa," he said with a smile.
I found myself in a dense forest, surrounded by unfamiliar plants and creatures. The air was thick with the scent of wet earth and decaying leaves. As I stumbled through the underbrush, I heard strange noises coming from the darkness ahead. Branches snapped underfoot, and twigs cracked like bones as I pushed my way deeper into the woods. The sounds grew louder, and I felt a chill run down my spine. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows.
It was a werewolf, towering over me with sharp claws and gleaming teeth. Its eyes glowed in the darkness, and I felt myself freeze with fear.It was a huge wolf with white fur, it had a spark of fire and its claws were longer than normal. The wolf transformed into a woman of middle age. She was 6 feet tall, her eyes still had that spark of fire and her fingernails were as long as her claws. Her hair was completely black and long. She was putting on a white garment. She stood just above the earth so that her legs could feel the soil but she wasn't standing on it.
"Who are you?" I managed to stammer, my voice barely above a whisper.
"I am a seer," the werewolf replied, its voice deep and frightening. "Her voice was similar to that of the wolf I encountered in the forest only it was a male wolf and this here is a female.
" Alyssa the alpha," she said. You are a special creature. Your kind is rare. You look weak but the abilities you carry are beyond your wildest dreams."I tried to back away, but she stepped closer, her breath hot on my face.
"You have the power to change the world," she continued.
"To bring about great things and make a difference. But beware, for with great power comes great danger. You must be prepared to face your fears and fight for what you believe in."Your enemies will come from within and without. Some are nearer to you than your skin and some are far Some will be obvious, some will look like friends until it is too late
They will come at you from every angle including the angles you least expect. This is your destiny and you cannot escape it. Your potential is locked away somewhere within you yet the time to use it is fast approaching. For your sake and the sake of your loved ones, find it and unlock it.
"Alyssa, daughter of Samantha. Find it and unlock it.
As she spoke, the sounds around us grew louder and more menacing. The trees shook, and the ground trembled beneath my feet. I felt as though the entire forest was coming alive, ready to swallow me whole. "I will see you again, at a time that is not so far away from now.
And with that, she transformed into a werewolf and vanished back into the shadows, leaving me alone in the darkness once more. I woke up in a cold sweat, my heart pounding in my chest. These dreams are becoming too frequent and overbearing. At this point, I knew these were no longer mere dreams. These were a warning. I have had dreams of wolves appearing to me or waking up in a strange land ever since I was a child but they were not as horrifying and there was usually no warning. I was called an Alpha and the daughter of Samantha again. This has to mean something. I am convinced that the dream is a glimpse of what is about to happen. I must try to figure out what this is about.
In the morning I told Ethan about my dream and he also agreed that the dream must be a warning.
"We must do something about this," he said. He paused to think for a few seconds." Alyssa! " he exclaimed all of a sudden and startled me a little. "Here it is, the solution to our problem" I appreciate the way he classified the problem as ours. That means he sees my problem as his."The seer" he yelled" I hear she is powerful and knowledgeable. We should go and see her. She should be able to interpret your dreams".
That was a very good idea. It had never occurred to me to go and see a dream interpreter. Ethan is truly a darling. He always knows what to do. We agreed to go see and see the seer as soon as the renovation of his village was over. It is now 5 months since we came here to seek refuge. It was high time to go back home and reunite the pack.
Meanwhile, some members of the pack were secretly sent out to uncover the identity of the woman who attacked the village and who is now also responsible for the death of their alpha.
