Chapter 105 A Unique Prescription Format
Liam trembled slightly, looking helplessly toward Max.
Max said, "Liam was hungry, so I took him to get something to eat."
Liam showed a surprised expression. This guy could lie without even blinking an eye.
Just then—Liam's stomach let out an ill-timed "growl."
Alexander glared at him teasingly. "Didn't you say you were hungry and went to eat?" He immediately realized that Max was lying.
Max said, "He didn't eat enough."
Liam also rubbed his stomach, looking pitifully at Alexander.
Alexander said, "You shouldn't make me worry about you like this." He had always protected Liam well, and Liam had always been obedient. Now he was actually leaving his side.
This wasn't a good sign.
But seeing Liam's stomach growling with hunger, he still couldn't bear to scold him much. He sternly warned, "Don't let there be a next time!" After saying this, he instructed Jeremy, who had just arrived, to order some takeout.
As soon as Alexander turned around, Max suddenly grabbed Liam's hand and asked, "How do you plan to save Mommy?"
Liam said he had a way to save Grace from amputation—how would he do it?
Max suddenly looked nervously toward Alexander and asked, "Did you sign it?"
Alexander asked back, "Sign what?"
Max said, "The doctor said you needed to sign for the surgery. Did you sign it?"
Alexander realized what Max was asking about and replied, "Not yet."
Max said urgently, "Don't sign!"
Alexander said, "I don't want to sign either, but the doctor said that without amputation, your mommy would be in mortal danger."
Max blurted out, "Liam says he has a way."
Alexander looked at Liam skeptically.
Liam puffed out his chest and patted it confidently.
Alexander didn't believe it. Even the doctors were at their wit's end—how could Liam handle this?
Amputation was to prevent further infection. This was a matter of life and death, so naturally he had to handle it carefully.
Liam became somewhat anxious. "Daddy, trust me." It was rare for him to speak up. Seeing Alexander still looking doubtful, he gripped Alexander's hand tightly, his brow slightly furrowed. "Trust me."
His eyes were full of longing, eager to gain Alexander's trust.
Max bit his teeth, clenched his fists, and said through gritted teeth, "I trust Liam. If Mommy faces any life-threatening danger because of this, I'll take full responsibility for the consequences."
For some reason, he had instinctive trust in Liam, so he was willing to bet everything on it.
Max said, "Give Liam some time. If he could save Mommy once, he can save her a second time!"
Alexander crouched down, pulled Liam in front of him, and asked, "Was it you who saved Grace?"
Liam nodded.
Alexander remembered the few needles Liam had used on Grace, and recalled what the doctor had said—that Grace surviving a fall from such a height was nothing short of a miracle.
Maybe this miracle was created by Liam.
Alexander decided to take the gamble too. "Liam, I trust you. So, what are you going to do?"
Liam suddenly ran to the nurses' station, asked a nurse for paper and a pen, then gripped the pen and drew a series of symbols on the paper.
When Alexander took it and looked, his handsome face darkened.
Liam had drawn many strange symbols that he couldn't quite understand: "※", "⊙", "∩", "≡".
What did these all mean?
Max also took a look and was equally puzzled, asking Liam, "What is this?"
Liam wrote the name of a book on the paper, "Modern Family Medicine Practice Manual."
Alexander suddenly remembered.
In the study at home, there was a bookshelf exclusively for Liam. Every time Liam visited that old doctor at the orphanage, he would often bring back some books, including "Modern Family Medicine Practice Manual" and "Primary Care Clinical Decision Guide." In his spare time, Liam would sit in the study, reading these books with great interest, occasionally drawing some marks in them.
Alexander was sometimes surprised that he was only seven years old and barely literate, let alone able to read the obscure characters in these medical books that even many adults couldn't recognize.
But he suddenly remembered that these books contained illustrated guides of medicinal herbs. Liam couldn't read words, but he would draw marks on the illustrations for identification.
Jeremy had just returned with the packed takeout. Alexander handed him a set of keys. "Go back to Hayes Manor and bring the books that Liam usually reads."
Jeremy was stunned. "I don't know what books the young master usually reads." He had been to the study at Hayes Manor once—it was ridiculously large, over a thousand square feet, comparable to a library, with the highest point reaching nearly 45 feet, requiring stairs to retrieve books.
Alexander said, "Liam's books are specially displayed separately with labels. Bring all the medical books among them."
Jeremy nodded. "Yes!"
Before they knew it, an hour had passed.
Jeremy finally returned, carrying a suitcase. The books Liam read were enough to fill a large suitcase.
"Mr. Hayes, I... I brought all the books. There were also some children's picture books, but I didn't take those—only the medical books you mentioned."
Liam crouched down, rummaged through them, and found the "Modern Family Medicine Practice Manual" and "Primary Care Clinical Decision Guide." After opening them, he used a pencil to mark several medicinal plant illustrations.
Alexander looked and was somewhat surprised.
He wasn't surprised that Liam could recognize these herbs at a glance, but rather that under each herb, Liam had marked them with special symbols.
The corresponding symbols were: ※ for Linezolid, ⊙ for Tofacitinib, ∩ for Ivabradine, ≡ for Vonoprazan.
The symbols corresponding to the drug illustrations were indeed comprehensive and systematic.
Alexander felt somewhat relieved.
Liam really wasn't intellectually disabled. He had thought that when Liam flipped through these books normally, he couldn't understand them and was just purely curious. However, he hadn't expected that not only did he understand, but he even knew the effects of these medicines.
Could it be that he had learned all this from that old traditional doctor at the orphanage?
Liam wrote a prescription on the paper: "※600mg, ⊙5mg, ∩20mg, ≡15mg..."
Alexander was both amused and exasperated by this prescription—the cute handwriting combined with Liam's unique writing format. He patted Liam's little head. "Is this enough?"
Liam drew two more special symbols.
He scratched his head, not knowing how to describe to Alexander that these two symbols represented Aducanumab and Zanubrutinib respectively.
Max suddenly said from the side, "Do these mean Aducanumab and Zanubrutinib?"
Liam's eyes lit up and he nodded.
Alexander said, "How did you figure that out?"
Max smiled but didn't explain in detail.
Moreover, he seemed to always understand what Liam wanted to express, as if they had some kind of telepathic connection.
