Chapter 74 You're Going to Destroy the Thomas Family Completely
Alexander had seen this name before on Grace's prenatal medical records, listed as the child's biological father. He hadn't investigated further at the time.
Emily continued, "Henry from the Phillips family in Silverlight City. Alexander, you should have met that man before."
Alexander replied, "Let's set this aside for now. I have more pressing matters to handle."
"Alexander..."
Alexander had no patience to listen to Emily's rambling and hung up directly, standing up in agitation.
He paced back and forth by the window, his long fingers rubbing his lips until they turned pale.
He covered his face, his sharp gaze staring out the window without focus.
Suddenly, he turned and walked to the entrance.
The housekeeper approached. "Mr. Hayes, are you going out?"
"Yes."
Alexander drove to the Crest Corporation building.
After parking downstairs, he took the elevator to his floor. Jeremy was already waiting in the elevator lobby and immediately approached when he saw him.
"All the Thomas family elders are here, and they all want to see you."
Alexander asked, "Where's Joshua?"
"He's here too, along with Amelia and Mason."
"Bring them to see me. Tell the others to leave!" Alexander strode directly into his office and sat down at his desk.
Soon, Joshua hurried into the office with Amelia and Mason.
The vast executive office remained unlit.
Alexander sat with his back to the window, moonlight streaming in and casting shadows across his deep features. Half his face was shrouded in darkness, his sharp jawline cutting an imposing figure.
Amelia looked up toward Alexander's desk.
The twelve-foot-long desk backed against floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the entire bustling CBD core. Only someone as cold-blooded and ruthless as Alexander could sit steadily in such a position of lonely power.
"Mr. Hayes..."
Amelia said nervously, "Mr. Hayes, we've come to apologize and make amends. About Liam falling into the water... Mason is too young, he's only seven. He really didn't understand what he was doing..."
"Didn't understand?"
Alexander's cold gaze swept over her, his thin lips curving slightly. "Are you trying to placate me with such excuses?"
Amelia was momentarily speechless, tears welling in her eyes.
Alexander continued, "Do you think that just because you show sincerity in apologizing to me, I'll definitely forgive you? Where does this confidence come from?"
Joshua interjected, "Thankfully, Liam wasn't hurt. This was just a false alarm—children playing around that didn't result in any real harm."
Alexander replied, "You should be grateful he's fine. If anything had happened to him, a hundred Thomas families wouldn't be enough compensation! Even if all of you knelt before me, I would still crush you into hell without leaving a single one behind, never to rise again!"
Joshua was terrified by these words, his heart pounding.
Amelia tentatively asked, "Mr. Hayes, what do you mean by that?"
Alexander said, "My son nearly drowned at your son's hands. Do you think I'll easily let the Thomas family off? Tonight, I'll draft an acquisition plan. Joshua, I'll remove you from the Windsor Academy board of directors. Consider yourself warned—the Thomas family has no tomorrow!"
Joshua collapsed to the ground, his voice trembling. "Mr. Hayes, you're going to destroy the Thomas family completely."
"Yes." Alexander's eyes were like cold blades, scanning Mason's face inch by inch. "It's the father's fault when the son misbehaves. Since you can't discipline your son properly, you'll pay the price."
Amelia swayed unsteadily.
"This is all your fault!" Joshua pointed at Amelia's nose and roared. "You spoiled him into this lawless behavior! Now everything has turned out as you wanted—our family is completely ruined!"
Amelia shot back, "I only have this one son, and the Thomas family only has this one son! Is it wrong for me to dote on him?" Though Amelia had always been proud and arrogant, she was now terrified by Joshua's outburst and huddled in the corner holding Mason, weeping bitterly.
Joshua continued, "Still talking back? You protect him—take him and get out!"
Amelia's eyes widened. "What do you mean?"
"I want a divorce!" Joshua declared. "The Thomas family can't be destroyed by you two, and it can't be destroyed in my hands! I'll divorce you tomorrow—take Mason and get out!"
Amelia retorted, "You don't even want Mason anymore? Joshua, you useless man, how can you say such shameless things?"
Alexander said impatiently, "This is the Crest Corporation building, my office—not the Thomas family home, and certainly not a place for your domestic drama."
He called out, "Jeremy."
Jeremy pushed open the door and entered. "Mr. Hayes, I'm here."
Alexander said coldly, "Show them out."
"Yes." Jeremy turned to Joshua and Amelia. "Mr. Thomas, Mrs. Thomas, please."
Joshua still wanted to negotiate. "Mr. Hayes, I..."
Alexander looked up coldly, his eyes flashing with icy intensity beneath his sharp brows. "Do you need me to personally escort you out?"
Joshua felt his scalp tingle and left without looking back.
Amelia stood up awkwardly, picked up Mason, and left in embarrassment.
Jeremy closed the door.
The office returned to silence.
"Mr. Hayes, they've left."
Alexander rubbed his temples wearily. "I need you to investigate someone for me."
Jeremy asked, "Who?"
Alexander said deliberately, "Henry."
