Chapter 72 Is He About to Kiss Her?
Grace couldn't help but smile, "Just for this? Really, Liam?"
Liam nodded, tears seeming to shimmer in his eyes, as if he'd missed something incredibly important.
Alexander was speechless, especially seeing the pitiful teardrops hanging at the corners of Liam's eyes. Was he really upset about this?
Alexander's heart softened, and he was about to go over and pick him up to wipe away his tears.
Liam's eyes suddenly lit up as if he'd thought of something. He pushed Alexander away and ran to the dining room, dragging a clumsy chair toward the gramophone.
The housekeeper was alarmed and hurried over. "Oh my, Liam, what are you doing?"
But Liam ignored her, dragging the chair to the gramophone and climbing onto it. He opened the gramophone, rummaged around to find a vinyl record, placed it on the turntable, and adjusted the needle. Soon, elegant classical music began flowing through the room.
Liam looked toward Alexander, clenching his little fists, his eyes sparkling like little stars.
Alexander seemed to understand his intention and raised an eyebrow. "No."
Liam puffed out his chest and crossed his arms, looking slightly angry.
Alexander said, "Don't be ridiculous."
Seeing his non-negotiable tone, Liam pouted and suddenly turned toward the bedroom.
Alexander didn't know what he was up to and followed him.
As soon as Liam entered Alexander's room, he opened the closet and dragged out Alexander's large business trip suitcase, pulled up the handle, and sulkily pushed the suitcase toward the door.
Alexander's tall figure blocked the doorway as he demanded, "Just because I won't agree, you're throwing a tantrum and running away?"
Liam pushed at him.
Alexander didn't budge an inch. The little guy barely reached his waist - how could he possibly move him?
Seeing him blocking the door, Liam got angry. He pushed the suitcase over, unlocked it, opened it, and lay down inside.
He was so small and thin that he fit perfectly in the suitcase - not too big, not too small.
Alexander really didn't know what Liam was doing.
Liam lay in the suitcase and closed it. The spacious room now contained only a cold-faced man standing in place and a suitcase with a sulking Liam inside.
Alexander said, "Come out."
Liam ignored him.Alexander said, "Liam, don't make me angry."
A "hmph" drifted from inside the suitcase.
Alexander was losing his patience. "Liam!"
The suitcase remained silent.
Alexander slowly crouched down, his suit creating elegant creases with the movement. "Come out, and I'll agree to it."
After five seconds of silence.
The suitcase opened a crack, revealing Liam's bright eyes - clear as glass marbles, seemingly untainted by any impurity, pure and captivating.
Ten minutes later.
Alexander carried Liam out of the room.
He placed Liam on the sofa, straightened his tie and the cufflinks on his suit sleeves, and said to the housekeeper, "Go to your room."
"Yes, sir."
The housekeeper asked, "Should I turn off the gramophone?"
"No need."
The housekeeper returned to her room.
Grace looked at Liam curiously, then caught sight of Alexander walking toward her.
She looked up to see the man approach her. He placed one hand gentlemanly at her lower back, bowed slightly, and elegantly extended his right hand. "Grace, may I have the honor of this dance?"
Grace was startled. "I..."
Her gaze lingered on his hand. Alexander's hand was pale and slender with defined knuckles, wearing a beautiful pinky ring. Such hands were more beautiful than a woman's, absolutely stunning.
In high society, dancing was also part of the required curriculum.
Alexander looked impeccable in his tailored suit, refined and elegant like a perfect gentleman.
She was dazed for a few seconds - perhaps it was the alluring curve of his smile, or perhaps seeing Liam's excited and expectant expression that made refusal impossible. She found herself instinctively placing her hand in his.
Alexander took her hand and encircled her waist.
Grace felt uncertain, whispering, "I don't know how... to dance."
Alexander guided her hand to rest on his shoulder.
She looked up to find him gazing down at her.
His handsome face was so close - proud and unreachable.
In her distraction, she accidentally stepped on his foot.
Grace frowned, her uncertainty almost overflowing from her eyes.
But his hand remained firmly at her waist, his dance steps elegant.
Under his guidance, she gradually matched his rhythm.
Her waist was soft, her hands were soft.
Holding her waist, he could feel every rise and fall of her breathing through his palm.
The spacious living room seemed to transform into a ballroom dance floor. Alexander led Grace by the hand, perfectly in sync with both the steps and the melody.
Compared to his elegance and nonchalance, she struggled to keep up, her posture still somewhat stiff.
Alexander leaned down and teased softly in her ear, "You really have no talent for dancing."
Grace's face immediately flushed red as she glared at him.
But this glare carried an inexplicable coquettish charm.
After glaring at him, she lowered her head and stopped looking at him.
Alexander's gaze fell on her shy, lowered face, a hint of amusement flickering in his eyes.
"Why don't you dare look at me?"
Grace looked up. Alexander's gaze was too captivating, falling on her face with an indescribable allure.
She tried to remain composed, her face reddening all the way to her ears, but seemingly unaware of it. Her eyes shimmered as she didn't dare meet his gaze directly.
Alexander leaned closer, his nose tip lightly touching hers. The man tilted his head slightly, his handsome face intimately close. Even when he blinked lightly, his eyelashes brushed against her forehead, tickling her heart.
Grace could even feel the man's warm breath covering her face.
Liam watched this scene with a satisfied and content expression.
Max, however, found it inexplicably irritating and clenched his fists as he stood up.
Liam, worried that Max would ruin this harmonious moment, immediately hugged him.
"Was this your idea?" Max asked angrily.
Liam nodded.
Max gritted his teeth. "Look at him - is he about to kiss her? Is he about to kiss her?"
Liam immediately covered his mouth.
Max pushed at Liam, but seeing Liam clinging to him desperately, afraid he'd rush over and separate the two, Max angrily stomped on Liam's foot.
Liam almost cried out in pain, covering his mouth with one hand while still desperately holding onto Max with the other, afraid he'd inappropriately ruin the atmosphere.
