Chapter 133 Will You and Grace Get Married?

Chapter 133 Will You and Grace Get Married?

Liam's expression immediately fell, disappointment flashing across his face along with confusion.

Alexander said, "Daddy hasn't married her yet, so you can't call her that right now."

Liam's eyes showed clear disdain.

He looked Alexander up and down—this hopeless daddy still hadn't won Grace over?

He mumbled something under his breath, then held up both thumbs facing each other and tapped them together in a gesture of affection, asking, "When are you and Grace... getting married?"

Liam's speech was more coherent and fluent than before. His ability to express himself was improving steadily. At least now he could fully communicate what he was thinking, even with some pauses—that was already significant progress.

Alexander didn't know how to answer.

Liam asked again, "Do you... like Grace?" He blinked curiously as he spoke, his eyelashes fluttering adorably.

Alexander remained silent.

The word "like" felt somewhat foreign to him.

Liam added, "I like Grace."

Alexander couldn't help but smile. "I know."

Liam said, "I would... fight for Grace."

He clenched his little fists. "That's what liking someone means."

Liam was earnestly explaining to him what "liking" meant.

Alexander asked, "Liam, if—hypothetically—if you found your real mommy one day, between Mommy and Grace, who would you choose?"

Without hesitation, Liam raised his hand. "Grace!"

He didn't think for even a second—it was an instant answer.

Alexander was somewhat surprised. "You wouldn't want your mommy anymore?"

Liam replied, "Nope."

He only wanted Grace. After all, Mary had said Mommy didn't want him, so he didn't want Mommy either.

All these years, he'd had no real concept of a mother anyway. Since that woman had never appeared in his life, he didn't even have a vague impression of her, let alone any emotional connection.

But Grace was different.

Just being with Grace made him happy and content.

Liam didn't understand what blood ties meant, but he understood that Grace genuinely cared for him, protected him, and loved him no less than she loved Max.

In the bedroom, Grace was folding clothes when Alexander suddenly walked in.

She looked up, noticing he was alone without Liam, and asked, "Where's Liam?"

She was curious about what Alexander had been discussing with the boy.

Alexander replied, "Liam and Max are in the room building LEGOs."

Grace nodded.

Alexander said, "About that investigation, I'll continue looking into it. You don't need to worry about it anymore."

He sat down on the edge of the bed while gently placing two cards on the nightstand.

Grace asked in surprise, "What are these?"

Alexander answered, "One debit card, one credit card. For your discretionary use."

Grace looked puzzled. "Why are you giving me cards?"

"For daily expenses going forward."

Grace said, "I have money, remember? You gave me two hundred million."

Alexander replied, "That's separate. From now on, all expenses for you and the two children should come from these cards. Both cards have the same PIN: 910214."

Grace walked over and picked up the two cards—one black, one platinum—and they felt surprisingly heavy in her hands... probably psychological.

After all, these were cards from Alexander.

Grace was genuinely curious about the credit limits on these cards.

Alexander seemed to read her thoughts and volunteered, "The credit card is an additional card on my account with no spending limit. The other is my bank card for cash withdrawals."

Grace was even more astonished. "What do you mean by no spending limit?"

Alexander explained concisely, "It means you can charge whatever amount you want—there's no cap."

Grace's mouth fell open involuntarily. "I could charge several hundred million and it would work?"

She seemed to have some misconception about his wealth.

Grace found herself genuinely intrigued. "Alexander, exactly how wealthy are you?"

Regarding her ex-husband, she seemed to know very little. She knew the Hayes family was powerful and wealthy beyond measure, but she had no idea exactly how wealthy.

Alexander wasn't sure how to explain it.

There were rich people, and then there were capitalists.

Rich people had fixed amounts in their accounts.

Capitalists had limitless accounts.

If he had to describe it, he could only compare it to a cosmic black hole—bottomless, with unfathomable depths.

Crest Corporation, which he controlled, was a global capital conglomerate. Just the interest earned on the spare change in their accounts was enough to keep ordinary families comfortable for generations.

Moreover, he controlled massive capital flows that never stopped moving—money going out, money coming in, with daily transactions starting in the tens of billions.

Setting aside all the real estate and equity under his name, his liquid cash alone totaled hundreds of billions in US dollars.

Net worth was one thing.

Market valuation was another matter entirely.

With his stakes in multiple publicly traded companies, his current estimated worth exceeded 500 billion US dollars, and that was excluding liquid assets.

When you reached a certain level of wealth, money just became numbers on a screen. He'd long since become numb to it.

In summary...

Alexander said, "Supporting the three of you is more than manageable."

Grace felt that Alexander was being quite modest in his expression.

More than supporting them—she, Max, and Liam could probably never spend all his money in multiple lifetimes.

Grace asked, "What's the point of making all that money?"

Alexander replied, "To spend on you."

Grace bit her lower lip, feeling unexpectedly moved.

This man had no talent for sweet talk and seemed allergic to romance, yet somehow this simple statement stirred something deep within her.

Grace pocketed the cards while muttering, "Don't blame me if I go on spending sprees later."

Alexander said, "Try spending a hundred million first, then we'll talk."

That comment was genuinely irritating.

Was he looking down on her?

She might not have his talent for making money, but she certainly had the ability to spend it!

Making money was exhausting; spending it wasn't.

Grace said, "I'm actually quite good at spending money. I only saved before because I didn't have any. If I had money, there'd be countless things to spend it on."

Was this another way for him to compensate her?

Alexander considered this and raised an eyebrow. "Then tomorrow, start by spending five million—get a feel for it." He paused, then added, "Don't come home if you can't spend it all."

Grace actually smiled for once. "Alright, I'll definitely exceed that target tomorrow." She'd never had someone beg her to spend money before.

Since he'd made such a request, she'd absolutely have to show him just how formidable a woman could be when it came to spending money!
