Chapter 91
My phone's ring tone work me up from my slumber. I immediately got out of the bathtub and reached out to the bathrobe and changed into it.
My phone has been ringing for ages.
Tricia was calling.
"Hello Tricia"
"Hi miss Monalisa. So tell me, what sort of a friend are you"
"What happened?
"What happened? Joshua informed me that you're project was approved. So when were considering to call your very own best friend?
"Tonight"
"Good fried. So what are you up to?
"I'm not upto anything."
"Liar. Do not hide anything from me"
"Okay. Donald and I are going on a date"
"A date? That's good. Finally"
"Finally what?
"Nothing. So where is he taking you?
"Nope. I'm the one who planned it all. So I'm taking him on a date at the indoor poolside "
"Say what now? Is it what I think it is?
"You're a joker. Get out of my phone crazy girl" I laughed.
"Fine. You will need me, you won't find me. I now take my leave, leave, leave".
"Seriously? Not spooky at all"
"Uh! I hate you"
"I hate you too"
"Take care Bess. I love you"
"I love you too Bess! Now I have to get ready"
I dropped my phone on the cabinet and sat down.
"Let's get ready"
I started off with my makeup, then put on my jewelleries and other accessories before changing into the a beautiful peach flare dress and black heels.
I packed my hair into a ponytail and checked out myself in the mirror.
"You look amazing Monalisa" I smiled and grabbed my purse before stepping out.
Donald was in the living room waiting for me, looking good in his outfit.
He wore a black shirt, a black trousers and a moon necklace.
I walked down slowly on the stairs.
Donald rose on his feet and couldn't take his eyes off me.
He walked to meet me at the stairs.
We locked eye contact and i almost tripped.
Donald's hand reached out to my body and grabbed my waist and I landed on his shoulder, wrapping my hand around his neck.
He lifted me with his arms and carried me down to the living room.
"You can let me down now"
"Sorry. Are you okay?
"Yes I'm okay. Thank you for catching me. I would have twisted my ankle and be in pains tonight and have everything ruined "
"Speaking of that, where are we going to? I'm really curious "
"Didn't I ask you to meet me at the indoor pool?
"Ah! I forgot. That's why I was here, waiting for you"
"So shall we?
"After you my lady"
"No. Let's go together " I linked arms with him and we walked to the indoor pool.
Beatrice did an amazing job decorating the place. The meal was already set and the music set the mood.
"Wow! You did all these? That's amazing "
"Yes I did and thank you for the compliment "
"And why all these?
"Have your seat" I said pulling out the chair.
"Nah. You sit there. I should pull the chair not you"
"I know but just see as a friendly gesture"
"I'm scared. Should I be scared?
I chuckled and had my seat. "Why would you be scared? This is your house "
"I know but it could become haunted anytime. Is it?
"Sit down Donald"
"Yes ma'am." Donald had his seat and leaned closer. "What's going on Monalisa? Why all these?
"Well..." I took a deep breath and exhaled immediately. "You know, how my life has been. I've been through a lot of ups and downs. From childhood, to teenage hood, to adulthood. All these times I've been facing a lot of problems, you were always there to support me. Saved my ass from those boys when we were kids, saved me again from getting married to Godfrey and now, you saved me from ruins when my ex husband divorced me. You brought me here, gave me life, gave me a job, gave me a family and made me happy. You became Joshua's father despite the fact he's not your son"
"Hey! Joshua is my son and will always be my son "
"That's good. I had planned all these to say thank you. You also helped me out by getting my project approved. I'm grateful for that. That's the greatest achievement I have made in my entire life, apart from bringing Joshua into this world and giving him life. But then, I couldn't have done all these without you. You, your amazing staff at the company and at home. Beatrice and Julio, they became my parents and Joshua's grandparents and gave him all the love. They loved me like their own. You, you're such an amazing man and you deserve all the happiness in the world "
"It's all nothing. What are friends for. If I do not look out for you and help you out who will? I mean, it's my duty to do so, and that's because I..."
"What?.
"I love you as my friend and my love is genuine"
"That's so sweet. Also I want to inform you that once the building of the fashion line is complete, I'll relocate back home with Joshua"
"What!! Why?
"That's because, that's where I belong "
"No. You belong here, with me, with us. You can't leave everything behind just like that "
"You've given me all that I need to stand and excel, now I want to fly high like a free bird and truly excel and make you proud. please, let me go"

"Okay. I will, when the right time comes "

"The right time will come soon. Very soon, trust me, soon and I will have that woman that is meant for me" he smiled at me.
"And I can't wait for that day"
"Same here. I can't wait to have you all to myself, Monalisa " he muttered
