Chapter 74: not everything the eyes see is true
"Lift him up and take him to room 409" Cynthia ordered the bartender
"But I can't lift him up all by myself"
"Stupid man. Get the others. Clean up this place too
Cynthia grabbed her bag and left the bar. She was followed by the bartender and one of the waiters she had contracted, bringing Godfrey along.
I arrived first at the hotel and went over to the restaurant to wait for Godfrey. A waiter approached me with a glass of juice, informing me that Godfrey had directed him to give the drink to me while he gets ready to come meet with me.
I thanked the waiter and had my drink, waiting patiently for Godfrey. I began to feel weird and a bit drowsy. I got up from my seat immediately and began to dial Godfrey's number, when I bumped into one of the waiters, who offered to help me get a cab home.
I felt s dizzy and my steps became weak and weary. The next second, I lost consciousness.
One of Cynthia's men lifted me and placed me on his shoulder and left.
Minutes later, Jayden arrived at the hotel with Athena. He approached the receptionist.
"Godfrey Anderson, room 409. I want to see him" Jayden spoke anxiously.
"Is he aware of your visit?
"Yes. He texted me he was around and sent me the address of this hotel and room number"
"Hold on, I have to call him and confirm from him and inform him of your presence"
"UGH! That won't be surprise anymore. What floor is room 409?
"Sir, I can't divulge such information..."
"Get this bitch out of my sight. Come Athena, let's find room 409"
"Third floor sir" Athena said.
"Very well then, let's go find that bastard"
"No sir, you can't...security!
Ignoring the receptionist, Jayden and Athena hurriedly left for the elevator.
Jayden clenched his palms, gritting his teeth.
"I pray I don't find you two together" Jayden mumbled.
The elevator opened and they searched for room 409.
"Found it sir" Athena said pointing at the door.
"Yes you did"
Jayden took a deep breath, trying to keep his cool.
The receptionist had found them. Jayden walked up to her and demanded for the master key but she refused immediately. Jayden seized her and ordered Athena to search her.
Athena searched her and found the master key on her and handed it to Jayden.
Jayden's hand trembled uncontrollably making it hard to unlock the door.
Athena held his hand and took the key from him and inserted it, unlocking the door.
"You wait out here. No matter what happens, do not come inside. Got it?
"But sir, what if you get attacked by him..."
"Do not come in. it's an order"
"Yes sir"
Jayden grabbed the door handle and turned it. He slowly opened the door and walked inside.
The sight he saw made him drop his phone and scream.
Jayden found me in bed with Godfrey and our clothes on the floor.
He immediately picked up his phone to leave bumping into Athena who has ran in after hearing his scream.
"I ordered you not to come inside. Get out!!! Jayden roared at her, dragging her out. "Go get the car ready. I'll be down in a moment"
"Yes sir"
Jayden turned back to the room, a tear drop fell from his eyes.
"Not again" he mumbled before turning away to leave.
Cynthia snuck out of the bathroom clapping her hands , she cackled with a menacing tone.
"Ouch my stomach hurts! I have laughed so much. And that's how to utterly destroy a relationship."
Jayden had confined in Cynthia why he never wanted to settle down with any woman. His ex had shattered his trust for women. He had caught his ex girlfriend in bed with another man and she tried to paint it to be his fault, lack attention.
Jayden swore never to love anyone. He saw women as toys that can easily be taken to bed since his girlfriend was taken to bed without any reasonable offer. He started his revenge by taking away the man's girlfriend from him. He made life difficult for his ex and made it impossible for her to get married by turning the story around that he dumped her after using her
Seeing me and Godfrey in bed, made him recall a forgotten past and shattered him again.
Cynthia was all happy. She took pictures of us before leaving the hotel.
Jayden got home and grabbed the baseball bat at the hallway and began to smash the flower pots with it, screaming loudly.
"I hate you so much Monalisa!!! I hate you!!! I'm going to kill her!!?
Athena rushed in and was shocked with the sight of Jayden she saw.
She quickly grasped his hand.
"No sir don't"
"What are you doing here? Let go of my hand!!
"I will sir but calm down sir"
"Calm....calm down? You saw what I saw? Monalisa with that bastard!!!
"Sir, not everything we see with our eyes is the truth"
"Athena, you may go home. I'm exhausted "
Jayden tossed the baseball bat and left for our room.
Athena cleaned up the mess Jayden created before leaving.
I felt a pain in my head and I slowly opened my eyes. My vision was a bit blurry. I closed my eyes and rubbed them before opening them again.
I looked around the room when my gaze fell on Godfrey on the bed with me.
I screamed and began to hit Godfrey to wake up.
Godfrey woke up and screamed on seeing our situation.
"What the hell is going on here? Godfrey asked.
"I should be the one asking the question!! You...how could you do this to me? You tricked me and raped me!!
"Hell no!!! I didn't do any of that trust me"
"No. You....you know what, stay away from me!!
I got out of the bed and quickly dressed up. I grabbed my bag and hurried out of the room.
I was so scared. My heart raced so fast and my breath increased.
I got home and went in. Everywhere was so dark and quiet. I switched on the lights and jerked. I saw shocked to see Jayden sitting in the dark, having a bottle of alcohol in his hand.
He turned to me and our eyes met. His eyes were so red and fierce.
"Good...good evening Jayden"
He scoffed..
"Is everything okay Jayden?
He scoffed Again.
"What's Wrong? Why are you scoffing at me?
He scoffed again and rose on his feet.
"Where are you coming from and do not bother lying to me"
"Uh ..I..went to see someone and resolve some issues "
"And who's this someone?
"You...you do not know him"
"Really? Why Monalisa? Why are you so despicable?
"I beg your pardon"
"Yeah keep begging you whore!! My dick wasn't enough so you looking for dicks outside that you fuck your ex fiancé"
My bag dropped from my hand to the floor and I staggered back.
"Why? Are you shocked that I found out your heap of secrets and lies? You lied that you were an orphan, you lied that you were a Virgin. All lies!!! You're just a smart ass whore, looking for some rich folk to trap and you did!!!
"What are you saying?
"I had my doubts. So I decided to investigate you. I found out that your mum is alive and you have an ex. Your fiancé. You two couldn't get married because of some circumstances. Now he's back, you run back into his arms as far as giving your body to him. You disgust me!!
"That's all lies!!!
"I saw it all"
"What? Saw what?
"I was at the hotel room earlier today. I saw you and your man naked in bed. What a pleasant sight it was for me and Athena to behold. "
"You were there?
"Yes. I received his text asking you to come over. Why are you interrogating me!! Well...we need not continue with this argument. I already packed your bags. They're at that corner. Take them and leave my house and my life"
"What? You are kicking me out of your house without letting me explain everything!.
"Shut up!! Just shut it and get out!!!
"I'm not leaving Jayden. We're married. I will never leave this marriage, never!
Jayden threw the bottle of alcohol at me and I was fast to duck and the bottle hit the wall shattering all over the floor.
"Do you wanna kill me Jayden?
"The choice is all yours. Leave in one piece or watch me move your body. Know this...no one would even dare question me about your death got it? He said approaching me.
I took a step back but he kept approaching me.
"You sly fox!! He gripped my neck trying to choke .
Let go Jayden!.
"No. I think rather than leaving... I'll kill you myself!!
"Let go!!! I screamed with my last breath.
