Chapter 15: perfect date with Monalisa
Author's POV
Jayden managed to drag his sleepy self down to the kitchen to fix himself something to eat for the morning.
While making his breakfast, his phone rang. Jayden quickly reached out to the counter and grabbed his phone. His lips curved up in a smile, when he realised who the caller was.
He quickly put off the gas and has his seat to take the call.
"My mona. Good morning"
"Good morning. Uh, the reason I called is to invite over for lunch today at my house, to make up for yesterday that was ruined".
"Lunch? Dinner will be better unless you've got an appointment tonight"
"Ah no. Actually, I thought lunch would be good for you. Seems like you are busy this afternoon"
"Hold up. Let's do something better"
"Which is?
"Let's go somewhere fun this afternoon and later we can have dinner at your house tonight. What do you think?
"Sounds great"
"Actually, I'm going to be a little selfish right now cause I just changed my mind"
"Changed your mind? Why? To what?
"Get ready. I'll be picking you up this morning for a fun day "
"What sort of fun is it?
"Just get ready" Jayden hung up and places his phone on the counter and dished out his food.
After a lovely breakfast, Jayden got ready for his fun date.
He arrived at Monalisa's apartment quite on time and rang the door bell.
Tricia was the one who answered the door and let Jayden into the house. Tricia offered Jayden a seat and left for the kitchen to get some snacks for him.
Monalisa walked into the living room all dressed up, looking stunning in her outfit.
Jayden stood up the moment Monalisa walked in.
"May I make a little request miss Monalisa? Jayden said.
"What request?
"Can you give this guy a 360?
"A 360? What's that?
"Uh, a little spin but slowly"
"Uh okay"
Jayden slowly bit his lower lip and smiled.
"That's more like it " he mouthed.
"What happened? Why are you staring at me that way?
"Shall we?
"And where are you taking me to?
"Trust Jayden. You'll have fun today"
"Fine. I will"
"After you"
"Uhmm...guys, a little favour from you guys" Tricia interrupted.
"What is it? Monalisa asked.
"Can you kindly drop me off at the mall, Mr Jayden sir" Tricia requested.
"Cool, but not gonna happen because I've got no space in my car. I did come with a car but it's just have seats for me and Monalisa, if you get what I'm talking about. Let's go Monalisa"
"Oh, no problems. I'll grab a cab then. You go ahead Monalisa "
"Let's go Monalisa " Jayden grabbed Monalisa's hand and dragged her along.
Monalisa was left slack-jawed the moment they got to Jayden's car.
Jayden turned to her and snapped his fingers at her face.
"I've been holding the door for you for a decade. Ain't you getting in?
"Sorry. Thank you " Monalisa rushed over to Jayden. "Sorry " she said and got in immediately. Jayden shut the door and got into the car.
"Struggling with the seatbelt missy?
"Uh, no"
"I'll help you"
Jayden leaned in and Monalisa's heart beat began to increase. She quickly held her breath hoping that Jayden doesn't hear her heart beat.
Jayden pulled out the belt and fixed it.
Jayden made a lovely eye contact with Monalisa. He leaned closer, their lips almost touching.
Monalisa quickly shut her eyes, expecting a kiss from Jayden.
Jayden smiled and retracted to his position.
Monalisa opened her eyes the moment she heard the ignition being switched on.
"Oh, I thought he was going to kiss me, silly me. What are you thinking about Monalisa? He's a rich CEO and there is you, just a teacher. Whatever" she exhaled softly.
"Are you okay? Are you uncomfortable? Jayden asked. "May I increase the air-conditioning?
"No. It's okay. "
"Relax. We'll have lots of fun today and give me a lovely smile. Please"
Monalisa chuckled.
minutes later, They arrived at the park. Jayden parked his car and got down. He walked over to Monalisa's side and opened the door for her.
"Our date starts from here"
"Date? We're on a date?
"Yes. So shall we?
"Yes" Monalisa quickly linked arms with Jayden.
Monalisa and Jayden got beautiful head accessories and decided to ride the ferry wheel and drive the cute cars.
While walking to get some drinks, a cute teddy bear caught Monalisa's attention and she stopped walking.
Jayden who noticed her stare at the teddy bear approached the one in charge of the game and offered to outrightly purchase the teddy bear.
"No, what's the fun of outright purchase? Monalisa said grabbing his hand, stopping him from handing over the money to the owner.
"Why? What do you want me to do? Do not tell me that..."
"Yes. the game. Don't worry, I'll play the game "
"No. I'll win the teddy bear for you. It's easy. Step aside and watch me do it "
Jayden rolled up his sleeves and winked at Monalisa.
Monalisa watched him play the game and he won the teddy bear.
Jayden handed over the teddy bear to Monalisa and they continued their walk.
While walking, their hands touched, Jayden and Monalisa slowly turned to each other and smiled.
Monalisa's cheeks turned red as she couldn't hide her blush.
After a long play day, They arrived at a five star restaurant for lunch.
The restaurant where Jayden met Monalisa.
their meals were served and Monalisa immediately started eating.
"Here is perfect" Jayden said
"And why is it perfect? The food?
"Not really maybe because they presented to me a delicious food with a different flavour though I couldn't have a taste of it, but I will some day" he chuckled.
"And why didn't you taste the food? What food is that?
"You" he mouthed. "nothing Mona"
"Really? So the food is what makes here perfect and special?
"Yes and... actually, this was place I saw you for the first time"
"What?
"The waiter had dropped a glass of water on you and your reaction kinda attracted me and I lost focus"
"So you couldn't have a taste of the food that was served to you that day? I distracted? Wow! She said in excitement.
"Yes. I had dropped my spoon. Let's just say...fate happened" he smiled at her. "We'll be heading somewhere once we're done with lunch"
"Where?
"Just eat up"
Jayden signalled the waiter to get the bill which he cleared.
