Chapter 67 Insensitive
As soon as she came home, she confronted Thyago about Erlinda Stanford. She never cares if her face was full of tears, it's a good thing that her in-laws are not around the house when she got home because she don't want the old couple to get worried if they found out they were arguing.
"Hey, what's wrong, baby? Why are you crying?" Thyago got alarmed and worried the moment he saw her.
"Erlinda Stanford talked to me! And you know what she told me?" She stated while tears still streaming in her eyes.
Thyago went silent and didn't answer her. His sudden silence only mean he knew what she was talking about. His silence just only prove he was guilty. She was badly hoping what that woman told her wasn't true and he will deny knowing her but with his silence, it only prove the woman was telling the truth. Don't she ever find out that he knew all along who Erlinda Stanford into her life and intentionally kept things on her or else she will be upset and get very disappointed in him.
"Tell me honestly, Thyago. Do you know all along that woman was my mother? Did you help her to get through me?" She asked solemnly.
Pain, disappointment, and betrayal were written all over her face. God knows she was keeping all these emotions inside her.
"Calm down, baby, please. You know it's bad for you to get stressed out." Thyago worriedly reminded her but she never listened. She badly wants answers from him.
"Do you know all along that she's my mother when you recommended her to be my client? Did you helped her to find a way to talk to me? Tell me you are not a part of that charade?" She stated in a serious and angry tone.
"She talked to me and told me everything. She wanted your forgiveness and to make up for her loss. I could feel her pain and regrets, Bea. Yes, I helped her to talk with you." He explained.
"By pretending to be a client just to talk to me?" She sarcastically asked.
"The Stanford's really intended to refurnish their newly bought house, baby."
"Then they start finding another Interior designer but I'm not offering my Firm's services. Any client but not her or his husband!" She stated imprudently.
She noticed Thyago was about to reach him but she jerked away. His concerns and worries looked genuine but she don't know if her eyes only deceiving her this time. She can't stand being touched by him. She was furiously mad at the moment and there might be a chance she could hit or slap him through her anger and she don't want that to happen.
"Listen, I want you to be reunited with your mother. I wanna help you set free those burdens and pains that you keep inside. I wanted you to be completely happy."
So this is what he was keeping from her. All along she had been wondering what was wrong with him? For the past few days she has been wondering what's he might be keeping from her. Now she knows what it is. He knew all along that her mother is trying to reach her but why did he never choose to tell her? That way, she could have understood his reasons, not this way where she feels like she was lied to. How could he be so insensitive to not talk to her first? Instead, he connive to her mother and betrayed her.
"Completely happy? Do you know what she did to me and my father? She left us in exchange for wealth and fame. She chose her career over her child! And now she's coming back bursting into my life acting to be my mother? She's too late, I don't need her anymore!" She stated full of hatred.
"Don't you think she suffered too being away from you?"
"Suffered? What do you know? She chose to leave us, it's her choice!"
"And she regrets what she did. Don't you think it's time for you to forgive her now that you're becoming a mother too? We're having a child, Bea. You're going to be a mother soon. You will feel what she feel and---
" I will never be like her! I will never leave my child over anything else. I will love him and I'll always be there for him. I'll raise my child well and I'll make sure to never make the same mistake as she did!" She stated angrily.
There is nothing Thyago would say that will make her understand and forgive that woman. In her twenty-five years of existence, she never reached out for her. There's been a lot of years she wasted. She was way too late and her reasons will not compensate for the pain and hatred she feels inside.
"Hey, I'm sorry..."
"You shouldn't meddle up about this matter. You should've talked to me first and never made decisions like that. I'm your wife Thyago! You should've thought of my feelings before you made such a decision like that! I felt betrayed, you know that!" Those pesky tears are now streaming again in her face and it's kinda frustrating because she can't do anything to stop them from falling.
"I'm so sorry. I just want you to be happy." He moved closer to her trying to reach for her again but she immediately moved away.
"Do I look happy now? Sometimes, I've been thinking if you really care about my feelings. First, you sided Elena over me and now you were secretly communicating with my mother behind my back so we can talk without considering my feelings. You always hurt and disappoint me, Thyago..." She stated dryly.
"Now you're bringing up the issue with Elena again. How many times do I have to tell you-- "
"Stop! I get it okay! Let's just stop this conversation and I just wanna rest." She suddenly loses the energy to fight and talk to him anymore.
She gets it now. She will never win to Elena. He's very determined to side that bitch more than her. She suddenly felt tired. Tired of this conversation and this drama.
"A-Are you okay?" He then worriedly reach for her but she drastically jerked away not wanting him to touch her.
Now he was acting worried with her condition? Screw him! He was her husband, he should be siding her and believing in her but it feels like it's okay if she will get hurt because he never seems to care about her feelings. Does it even cross his mind that she was pregnant and this might be bad for her condition? He was acting worried but he keep on causing her emotional stress and pain.
Honestly, she got tired of these fights and arguments. She had enough of this day. There's no use in fighting with Thyago anymore, no one will win anyway. That no matter how he explain his part, the fact remains that he lied to her. She'll still end up crying and being hurt in the end after all. All she just wanna do right now is to rest. She just wanted to lay in the bed and close her eyes. She suddenly felt a little pain in her hips as her stomach churned so she got worried for her baby's welfare. She has to calm down for it might affect her baby's condition if she goes on like this. She gently lay on the bed not letting Thyago notice the pain that started to dominate her stomach. She was glad she felt relieved the moment she lay in the bed and rested a bit. She got stunned when minutes later, Thyago joined her in the bed and hugged her from her behind.
"You're wrong if you thought I don't think of your feelings. All I care about is you, Bea. I'm sorry If I never told you about your Mom. I'm sorry I suddenly made decisions without consulting you. I love you and I just don't want you keeping burdens and pains into your heart. I want you to reconcile with her because I know that she cares and loves you too." He stated gently while her back still turned on him.
Stop keep on saying you love me when all you do is hurt me. You don't care about my feelings, Thyago! You even chose to believe Elena's pretensions than side with me.
She wanted to shout those words to him but unfortunately, she just chose to remain silent and ignore him. What for? He would only tell her lies and will reason out that she's being jealous. They will only start an argument and fight over again.
"Hey, baby won't you listen and talk to me please..." She heard him plead.
"Please Thyago, let's just stop this conversation with. I just wanna rest and sleep for now." She stated irritatingly.
"I know you're still mad at me. Won't you forgive me, please...." He muttered then started to kiss her nape while she hugged her from behind.
She heard Thyago whisper words of love which she doubted if he even meant those. She just chose to remain silent and act deaf. She was tired of lies and the pain brought by them. It would be nonsense to still bring up arguments and then in the end she will never completely be fine because she will not be convinced with his reasons and explanations. She doesn't know but it feels like she was now on the brink of giving up. She only wishes she will not totally give in and still has the will to fight for her love.
They say if you love someone, fight for it but what if it was only a one-sided love? Will she still fight for him knowing her love has no response and he's in love with someone else? That's the question in her mind that was left unanswered...
