Chapter 49 Wedding Details
Early in the morning, Thyago picked her up for they have scheduled to meet the wedding coordinator for their wedding. On the way, Thyago was in a good mood looking so excited. He was even extra attentive and thoughtful to her which she finds weird. He was a bit exaggerated too for he often ask her how she feels. If she was ok or if she's not feeling dizzy which she finds a bit annoying because, at the back of her mind, she knew she couldn't help herself to get affected and hoped that this marriage will work out soon.
"What would you think the gender of the baby?" She heard him ask that caught her attention from the window of the car.
His eyes were still on the road though while driving and the smile on his face was priceless, it gives her such a good and light feeling inside.
"I don't know. The baby was just a month so they couldn't be able to detect the gender yet." She answered.
"I wish it was a baby girl and I want her to look like you." She couldn't help to smile hearing that from him.
"What If he's a boy?" She intentionally made her tone angry.
"Well, it doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl. I'm just so happy that you're carrying my child." He took a glance at her and she never missed that endearing look he gave her.
There are sometimes he was acting sweet and endearing like now and it made her wanna fall in love with him more but oftentimes he gets annoying, possessive, and very domineering and that's what she hates from him. He's so unpredictable and she's having a hard time dealing with his behavior. She couldn't help to wonder what made him change this way? There were even rumors that he was known to be the most cunning and relentless tycoon in the business world. He was not like this before. The Thyago she knew before was a sensible, generous, benevolent, and selfless person. Not that she was aware that people change over the years but he changed a lot and it feels like he was completely different from the Thyago she used to know. She wonders what makes him change to be this way? A part of her wanted to know what happened I'm in the past flyers but she knew she will have no guts to ask him that. He might assume something that she was starting to care for him which she doesn't want him to believe. She will never let him know what she feels for him. She will never let him hurt her again and give him the satisfaction that after all these years, it was still him she loves.
When they reached the place and met their wedding coordinator named Vera Chua, an American- Chinese woman who seemed polite and generous, they started to talk about the wedding details and preparations. She looked jolly and conversable which is needed and part of her job she thought. The woman started to show some wedding pictures of her clients and asks some details they like.
"So what kind of wedding do you prefer? Church, garden, or beach wedding?" Started by Vera.
"What do you think, baby?" Thyago gently asked her with a warm smile on his lips.
"Ummmm, garden? What do you think?" She asked back hesitatingly obviously showing no interest in the topic.
Funny because she remembers that she once used to dream about a perfect garden wedding with the person she truly love but then got suddenly disappointed realizing her situation with this wedding they will have. A tinge of sadness and bitterness engulfed her for it wasn't a perfect wedding at all. They don't love each other and it was just a one-sided love. She was the one who only love. She might have shown him she hates him but beyond all this hate and facade, the fact remains that she does love him until now. But there's no way she will let him know about her feelings. This way she could at least save her pride from being hurt just like what happened before.
"We want a Garden wedding then, Vera," Thyago stated.
"Okay. What about the motif? Oh, I think Miss Bea is the one I should be asking about that question. What would you prefer?" Vera asked her politely.
The woman had this enthusiastic tone or somewhat like an encouraging appeal. She might be used to dealing with different kinds of client's reason she still manages to smile even though the person she was talking with is obviously showing no interest in the conversation.
"Ummm, I don't have a particular color in my mind. What's in nowadays? Do you have any suggestions?" She asked back to Vera. She saw Vera make a sour face by her answer but still manage to smile after.
Truth is she's starting to get annoyed through the conversation. She was not excited about the wedding so why the hell did they keep on asking her about every detail? Thyago was the one responsible for answering those questions because after all, he was the one who wants to get married. He better be doing the task of answering questions instead of her.
"What's your favorite color? Your favorite color will be the motif then. How about that?"
"Sky blue." She answered shortly.
Vera then forced a smile, more like a confused smile. She might be disappointed with her answers so she took for granted her.
After a while, she made an obvious yawn out of boredom. The conversation suddenly turned out boring for her. That's what she intend, to not pay too much attention through the conversation and showed Thyago she wasn't excited at all.
"Okay, sky blue. What about the number of guests?"
"I want this wedding to be grand and extravagant so expect a large number of guests Vera," Thyago stated.
"No! I want the wedding to be private. Family and close friends are only to be invited. I want a simple and private wedding, Thyago." She opposed.
"Sorry to disappoint you honey but I won't let that to happen. I want a grand wedding and that's final." Thyago stated seriously. With that, she felt her blood automatically boil in anger.
"Well, you shouldn't have asked what I want if you will still insist on what you want in the end!" She snapped back at him. She glared at him showing how annoyed she was and they battled stare for a moment.
"Wait, are you guys arguing? Do you want me to leave you just for a while?" Vera broke the tension between them.
"We're not. Let's continue please..." Thyago said calmly while still staring at her. His eyes suddenly softened and like he was pleading her to stop opposing and just cooperate with the conversation.
She suddenly loses the mood to join in the conversation. What for? What Thyago wants will happen in the end so there's no need for her suggestions anymore. She went silent all throughout the conversation then. She agreed with Thyago's decision just to show she was paying attention and then never tried to argue with the details anymore.
"So is that all? Any suggestions or any details you wanna add Mr. Williams?" Vera asked when they were almost done talking to the details of the wedding.
"None so far. We will just update you if there are changes." He replied.
"How about the bride?" The woman insisted.
"No, I'm fine with it." She said trying to make her voice weary.
"Looks like the bride-to-be isn't excited about the wedding. Pre-wedding jitters perhaps?" Those words suddenly burst out into Vera's mouth that made her eyes wide in surprise. Thyago and her suddenly took glances at each other.
"Oh, I'm just kidding!" Vera then burst out laughing afterward.
Honestly, it didn't offend her. She just then wonders what's running into the woman's mind at the moment. Imagine she would honestly tell that to her client? Well, she was just sharing her opinions and she doesn't know but instead of getting annoyed, she finds the woman amusing.
"Can I ask you something, Vera?" It was Thyago.
"What is it, Mr. Williams?" Vera replied.
"Are you sure you wanna be the wedding coordinator at our wedding?"
"Yes Sir, why?"
" Well learn to keep your opinion to yourself. Just do your job before I decided to replace you." He said dangerously.
"Oh alright, Mr. Williams. I'll keep that in mind." Vera replied like she wasn't felt threatened at all.
"Good. I think we're done for today. Just tell me if there's needed to change anything about the details that we talked about. If you wanna add something just feel free to tell me too?" Vera added cheerfully before they decided to separate ways.
She then smiles at the woman, a real and sincere smile. She's a very odd woman and she thinks she likes her.
