Chapter 34 Kiss
"Aren't they looked lovely?" The emcee asked the crowd. Everyone cheer and yell seem everyone is enjoying the night except her, of course.
"As we all know, Thyago Williams was now a very successful Businessman who's behind the Tiger Estate Corporation but did you know that he was the man behind why we made this reunion even possible? Yes, he sponsored and support this reunion. Let's give him a round of applause everybody! Isn't he a good catch?" Everyone applaud and cheered mostly women and as for Elena, she came closer to him and cling to his arm then gave him a very sweet and enticing smile. She saw him whispered something to Thyago they made the latter smile.
"Now, are you familiar with this beautiful woman standing before us?" The emcee said pertaining to Elena.
The crowd went loud and wild mostly men. Some whistled and some even make a loud noise. She really is famous with men even before. She couldn't help to smile bitterly not because she was jealous but because she pity those men who admire her for shallow reasons. Elena is nothing but an expensive rag, fancy on the outside, rotten on the inside. It's been a long time she hasn't seen her but nothing really change with her. She matured and became more beautiful and sexy, yes. Well, she has to, it was her investment and it is needed in her profession. But can anyone stand her evil behavior?
"Yes, the once used to be our Prom Queen was now a famous International ramp and commercial model. Isn't she gorgeous tonight, everybody?" Everyone almost shouted yes as some men yell and clap their hands energetically. She was indeed sexy and beautiful. What would she expect when meeting Elena?
"They used to be a couple before. Let's get updates about them now? But wait, can we ask you to do the romantic dance again in front of us first? Do you guys want them to dance?" The emcee asked the crowd. In response, the crowd made a louder noise as the DJ played a romantic song.
The lights started to dim and they dance as the spotlight starting to illuminate them. They were staring at each other as they were talking. She was not sure but she could see Thyago looking so uneasy. Whatever they were talking about, she was not interested anymore. She guessed Thyago seemed to enjoy dancing with Elena. Of course, who wouldn't enjoy dancing to a famous International ramp model? Suddenly conclusion formed on her mind on why Thyago brought her to this event. Maybe until now, he was still in love with Elena. That he wanted to have her back again but why did he ask her to be his date instead of Elena. Is it because he knew they have a gap until now and he wanted to make Elena jealous?
How did she didn't realized that it was Elena the woman he might be talking about? Yes, she might be the ex-girlfriend he couldn't forget. The girl who loves seafood, the one that got away, and the girl he wanna marry. How foolish she is to not figure these things out so early. She might be the girl and it's possible that he wanted her back.
And there she was, standing alone in the corner feeling like nothing. A sad and bitter smile formed her lips because she somehow felt hurt. If Thyago told her about this earlier, she might have understood her. Why the lies and pretense? She couldn't understand how Thyago convinced her to come with him. To prove to these people who bullied her that she was successful now? To get revenge and slapped at them who she became to be now? That isn't necessary anymore. She was happy with what she became, she doesn't have to prove anything to them. She noticed the noise of the crowd turned wild and louder, it suddenly reminded her of the laughs and insults she gain from these people and it's like she was suffocating. Then she realized her presence wasn't needed here anymore. Thyago seems to enjoy it at the moment and looks like he already forgot about her.
"Isn't they looked good together?" The emcee said as the two were dancing on the stage. The noise is getting louder and louder as she felt being deaf and enveloped by bitterness. She suddenly felt irritated and wanted to leave the place.
With that, she decided to come out to the function hall and get some fresh air to breathe. She can't stand it there and enjoy as everybody does. While it seems Thyago was enjoying his dance with Elena and seemed to forget that he has a date, she would rather come out and breathe some fresh air. She walked fast without any direction, all that matters is she could get herself away from these people. She was so wrong when she thought she can face them. She was so wrong when she thought she was strong and fierce now. She just wanna be away from them.
As she walks down the empty and dark hallway, she reaches a pool surrounded by ornamental plants. She might reach the back of the function hall she guessed. She takes off her three inches stiletto and is about to soak her feet in the water when she got stunned when strong arms immediately pulled her and in one swift motion she was now enveloped by those arms in a tight embrace.
It was nothing but Thyago. How did he manage to immediately come after her? Did he follow her? Is she that too preoccupied to not noticed him? Well, he was supposedly enjoying the company of Elena and what does he think he was doing?
She tried to push him but he was so strong and his hold on her was so tight not wanting to let her go. Being wrapped around by his arms, she couldn't understand but she felt getting weak as her toes starting to wilt. Strange but it felt good being wrapped by his arms.
"Why did you left?" She heard him accusingly asked.
"Got so bored. It was too loud and noisy so I decided to breathe some fresh air." She answered.
"You should've waited for me." He was mad and she could feel it in his voice. But for what for?
"You seemed to enjoy my cousin's company and I don't wanna be a bother."
"You will never be a bother to me. Bear that in mind Bea." He stayed seriously.
Dammit! Why I'm letting him hug me anyway?
"Why did you leave your precious Elena?" she asked.
"Ssshhh... Stop talking, let's stay this way, okay?" He said huskily.
His hold is getting tighter, it's getting hard for her to breathe. Perhaps it was her emotions that made her hard to breathe though. They remained that way for a moment but she suddenly felt guilty and ashamed of herself as realization struck her. Feeling confused and guilty, she pushed him away to let go of his hold.
Dammit, what am I doing? Why did I let him hug me? I have a boyfriend for Pete's sake!
"I hate Elena, I still do. I can't stand meeting her the reason why I went out and decided to get some fresh air." She reasoned out as she composed herself.
"I'm sorry, did I make you uncomfortable meeting my batchmate? I shouldn't bring you here. I just wanna show them how amazing you were and that they were completely wrong when they judged you easily way back then."
If that is his reason, she appreciates it though but that isn't necessary. Getting revenge on his batchmates and show them that she was now successful is no longer necessary for her anymore. They can never change what's happened in the past. What matters is the present and future. She was happy with what she became, she doesn't have to prove anything to them.
"Care to dance again with your date?" Thyago then held her hand and swayed her.
"There's no music here..." She stated feeling weird about his actions.
"It's okay. I'll sing the song. Let's just stay here for a while and dance, please..." She just laughs at him because they look like fools dancing in the dark under the pale moonlight.
They remained that way for a while just like he wanted. His hands were on his neck as his arms wrapped around her waist. Thyago's eyes were intently on her face as he sang a song. There was really something on the way he looked at her that is making her heart confuse and felt uneasy. It's like he was awaking different emotions and she was starting to get alarmed. She can't stand gazing at him for a long time, scared he could see in her eyes the emotions she was afraid to admit.
She felt his palm gently caress her cheek. That moment felt amazing and mesmerizing she couldn't help to close her eyes. Next thing she knew he suddenly claimed her lips that shocked the hell out of her. She got stunned for a moment trying to rationalize things. The kiss was gentle at first but when he tried to deepen it as his tongue seeking entrance, she felt confused, alarmed, and remain passive. He kissed her hard and expertly so in the end he successfully opened her mouth and plunged his tongue as he tasted every corner of her mouth. Next thing she knew, she was responding to his kisses.
Deja vu! It was like the same kiss they shared eight years ago. The difference is she's the one who initiated the first kiss they shared eight years ago and his version now was way more hot and fervent. But it has the same impact on her and both kisses made some havoc on her feelings.
What's this feeling I feel? Why am I letting him kiss me now? Why do I like this feeling again? I have a boyfriend, I shouldn't be entertaining these feelings towards him. This is so wrong but why does it felt good anyway?
They were both panting when the kiss ended as their forehead enjoin together. He gently caressed her cheek and wiped the side of her swollen lips. He was trying to embrace her but she pushed and stopped him. She fixed herself and cleared her throat as regrets automatically written on her face.
This is so wrong, Definitely so wrong.....
"Bea..." She heard him said in a pleading tone as he grasped her arm to hold her. Feeling guilty she jerked her arm from his hold.
"Why did you do that?" She can't look into his eyes afraid he might view the uneasiness and confusion in her eyes.
"I've been dying to do that since the first time I saw you after eight years." He stated as if he don't regret what he did.
"Liar!"
"It's true and I still wanna do it over and over even if you'll stop me."
"How come? You don't like me before. You even hated me after you found about my feelings to you right years ago. Don't tell me you developed an attraction with me after seeing me again?" She sarcastically retorted.
"I never hated you I just avoided my feelings before..."
"Enough! Stop making me believe with your lies." She angrily stated. Who does he think he was fooling?
"What would I have to do for you to believe me?" He asked in a reading tone.
"Nothing! You have to do nothing because I will never buy your explanations." He went silent as he frustratedly covered his face with his both palms. He looked so devasted and miserable, yes but she will not easily believe him.
"This is so wrong! You know I have a boyfriend. I shouldn't come here with you in the first place." she said feeling uneasy then walked away.
"How can something wrong feel so right all along? Tell me, Bea?" He accused then grabbed her hand so she could face him.
She never bother to answer him, she just jerked her arm away from his grip and walked away to leave the place. She grabbed a taxi and leave him. He never attempted to follow nor stop her which is a good thing for her. Too bad she could feel those silly warm fluid flowing non-stop in her cheeks. She wanted to deny her feelings but her feelings were a traitor. He still affected her the same as before...
