Chapter 22 Firm Visit
When Thyago visited the firm to meet with the co-designers of the project, she didn't help herself to scanned and secretly complement his features as he walks formidably in the hallway. He was wearing the usual business suit but he looked attractive and fresh. She suddenly felt ashamed to herself when their eyes met and he caught her staring at him. Fascinating herself, she composed herself immediately as she motioned and guide him and his Assistant and Secretary in the Conference room. They will do the contract signing today and Thyago will about to meet the chosen designers of the project and talk about the plans and designs after.
Who would have thought that they were bound to work together after what happened between them? Life must have been unpredictable, she thought. It's a good thing they decided to set aside the past and work together professionally and do nothing but pure business.
"Mr. Williams, I'd like you to meet my chosen co-designers in the project. This is Rachel Montez, Angelo Crawford, and Chris Guevarra." She started introducing the team to him after they seated and settled in each appropriate seat.
"Pleasure to meet you," Thyago replied as she shake hands with each one of them.
"Pleasure is mine, Mr. Williams. " Chris said flirtatiously as he gave Thyago an obvious meaningful look.
She couldn't help to smile at the reaction of Chris. Chris Guevara is an Asian and a good friend of hers. He was gay and naturally humorous. He's often funny, flirty but he was good at his work and they loved him that way. He kinda reminds her of her late friend Mackie the reason she befriended him.
"They were my best designers and as I've said, they were competitive and hard-working people. They have fresh and eccentric designs that satisfied our client's demands. You will not regret having them for the project, Mr. Williams."
"Good." He answered solemnly.
As soon as they started talking bout business, Thyago was so serious and seemed very professional while they talk about the project. Well, most of their clients are usually like that when it comes to business, but the Thyago he met yesterday was way more different than today. He's confident, a bit arrogant, wise and shrewd, unlike yesterday he spoke with gentleness with a mix of cheerfulness. Not that she was not aware that he was smart and excellent in everything he does. She's still not forgetting that he used to be the top notcher student and one of the smartest in the school before so it was expected he was going to be successful in the future not to mention his family was one of the rich and prominent families in the society. She couldn't help to wonder and be amazed at the same time. He exactly became the person she expected to be but she could hardly believe that she will be there to witness it.
He stated what designs he likes, his expectations, and his demands on the said project. He spoke with confidence and intelligence and she has to admit that he was very good in his own ways. No wonder he made their company more successful when he started handing their Corporation. She discussed the materials they will use and also the approximate cost of it. She could see his attentiveness and seriousness over her explanation. His assistant discussed the terms and the details of the contract. Their contract is demanding and there are some phrases on the contract that she wanted to disagree with but they managed to settle things out in the end. The meeting lasted for about three hours and a half and they sealed the deal triumphantly. They officially got the project after signing the contract between both parties.
"By the way, on Monday we'll visit the site together with your co-designers. Is that okay with you, Miss Watson?" His tone was more a command not a question and that suddenly irritates her a bit.
"Yeah sure, Mr. Williams," she replied.
"We'll be there by eight in the morning, is that ok with you?" she added.
"Nah! I'm not available by that time. I'll send my driver to pick you up by nine in the morning." He answered formally in an arrogant way.
Very arrogant of him. Demanding much Thyago?!!
"Sure, nine it is Mr. Williams." She kindly replied giving him an obvious fake smile.
He blankly stared at her for a moment and they held gazes for like a minute. She couldn't understand but the way he looked at her seems like he wanted to say something. She stared back at him undauntedly trying to identify his feelings by those penetrating eyes but then he jerked her eyes away after. He and his assistant decided to leave then leaving her and her team after the meeting was adjourned.
