Chapter 9 Chapter Nine

Chapter 9 Chapter Nine
Marco's POV

“I assure you Mr Brentford, you won't ever regret doing business with me.” I said as I saw the gentlemen back to their cars.

Brentford narrowed his eyes, as if he were contemplating telling me something.

“Your proposal seems sid and it's sure to reel us in some huge profit, I expect a higher level of professionalism from you next time Mr Terenzio, you have quite the reputation of being straight and down to business, who would've thought some random maid would disrespect you?”

I pursed my lips and gently smiled. “I'll have my team reach out to yours for the official documents and paperwork. One slight disturbance doesn't affect my reputation, I'm ruthless when it comes to business. Goodnight gentlemen.”

I didn't wait for their response, didn't bother to properly send them off but just abruptly turned around and walked back into my residence. My smile faltered and I clenched my jaws tightly. ‘That little btch!’ I cursed as I headed for Camila's room.

The door refused to give way no matter how hard I turned the doorknob, she had locked herself in. Smart move.

“Open this door!” I yelled at the top of my voice.

“You have a long day ahead of you Mr Terenzio, goodnight.” Her sharp voice sounded from inside.

I banged on the door, infuriated that she made me look like a fool but the door didn't bulge. I halted and laughed devilishly. “Goodnight Camila, dream of me, tomorrow will be much more fun.” I said, coldly then turned to my heels and headed to my room.

That night, I couldn't sleep. I woke up to the familiar sound of my ragged breathing, sweat beads breaking off my forehead and the stabbing pain that resided in my chest refused to dissipate. I stayed up till daybreak, lighting a cigar and downing glass after glass of whiskey, hoping to drown the pain and wipe away the painful memory.

Not that it ever worked. So, I got into the shower, letting cold water wash down the invisible bloodstains. I shut my eyes, the line between now and then felt blurry, a mode of transit to that faithful day.

Sounds of crashes, screams of pain and then gunshots. A loud shriek of agony, too haunting to bear. Blood sputtering and splashing like a wine being poured in an u steady glass and behind the trigger was the mastermind, smirking with tears dripping down his face; my nemesis.

The steam thickened and my breath hitched but the water didn't stop falling, neither did the blood.

Brrring! Brrring!

The incessantly ringing of my phone forcefully brought me to the present and I reached out for it, having to abruptly cut off the water.

“Yes?” I spoke, softly but flat.

“Boss, we've caught Jerome. We're bringing him back to the pit.”

“Good, make sure no one witnesses it.” I said, in an icy meaningful tone then hung up without waiting for an answer.

I stepped out of the shower, grabbing a towel; water dripping from my wet body.

Jerome owes me money and tried to abscond with it but will definitely regret it. A rapt knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. “Come in.” I flatly consented.

Without looking up, I knew it was one of my maids bringing me my regular morning coffee.

“Jyst leave it on the table and get lost.” I growled, dabbing another tower on my wet hair.

“Seems like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today, should the entire universe cover in fear?”

That voice, i recognized it anywhere. It was sonorous but laced with calculated mockery. Ny eyes darted towards the direction it came from and I saw Camila, standing wirh a cup of coffee in her hand. Her hair was tied in a messy bun and though a bruise was evident at the corner of her cheek, her face looked radiant, almost tempting.

“What do you think you're doing?”

“Your highness.” She curtsied, smugly. “Accordong to your orders, I am to serve you as a maid, so here I am, bringing your morning coffee.”

She stretched the cup towards me but didn't bother hiding the faint curl of her lip. Scoffing, I took it from her and hesitated for a moment.

She raised a brow. “You certainly don't think I put in some poison or so in your coffee do you?”

“You don't have the guts.” I snickered, mildly amused then took a sip of it and surprisingly it was good. “Not bad for a servant.” I praised.

I saw her eye twitch and she dug her nail into her palm, suppressing her anger. It was a backhanded compliment. “I learn real fast and unlike others, I'm not an arrogant asshole.” She commented, bitterness evident in her tone.

“How adorable.” I replied, offering her a tight smile then waved my hand dismissively. “You can go.”

She stared at me in pure disdain and was about to leave when a wicked plan formed in my head. “Stop!” I ordered.

I took a long sip of thr coffee then spat it back into the cup, handing it over to her. “Drink it, I don't feel like drinking it anymore.”

Disbelief famished across her eye as it almsot popped out of its sockets. “What?” She blurted.

“Don't make me repeat myself.”

She eyed me, disdainfully and shook her head. “If you don't want it then throw it away.”

“I want you to drink it.” I growled, she took a step back and I chuckled. “There are limits to my patience, don't test it.” I warned her.

With shaky hands, she took the cup from me. Once again, her eyes begged for mercy but was met wirh indignation, she needed to be tamed and subdued into total obedience. I gave her an approving nod.

“You disgusting heartless bastard!” She cursed but I laughed.

“Drink it up else I'll make your father drink a cup of liquid cement.” I threatened.

She stiffened, it wasn't an empty threat. I wanted to see how far she would go, she looked me dead in the eye, without breaking eye contact, she downed the hot cup of coffee and struggled to keep the tears from rolling down her eyes.

“What's wrong princess? Are you gonna cry?” I teased, wickedly but she laughed and cooly handed the cup back to me.

“Why would I cry? I'm not Mr Terenzio's fragile ego.”

Her words left a sharp sting in my chest. It was evident that she faked her confidence.

“I'll take my leave now, some of us actually have something not shameful to do.”

I watched her leave, impressed by her arrogance and even more high spirit. ‘I'll break you Camila, just wait and see.’

My phone rang once more and I frowned.

“We're here boss.”

“Good.”

Two hours later, I returned to my bathroom and turned on the shower faucet but this time I washed off the stench of blood off my body. ‘Bloody hooligan.’ I cursed, remembering how stubborn Jerome proved to be.

When all was done, I headed to my office, after all; I have an empire to keep running. The legal paperwork for my partnership with the construction and tech company came in and I scrutinized every article of the contracts before signing. My mind kept drifting back to Camila and how she drank that disgusting cup of coffee.

After I got off work, I headed for my other place of work; Hell's Manor. The biggest clubhouse and casino in the country. Once in a while, I go there to see how things are going and remind the ambitious fools who the real boss is. Though I had over a hundred branches over the country, this one is my personal favorite.

“Hey darling, you expecting someone?” A provocatively dressed lady walked up to me in my booth and seductively asked.

She took a long drag of her cigar, twirling the half full bottle of red wine in her other hand. She tilted her head sideways, intentionally biting her lips and giving me a dirty look.

“Go away.” I spat, uninterested.

“What's wrong with you Marco? How can you refuse such a beautiful lady?” Anthony chastised me.

“I'm not in the mood for this Anthony.” I warned him.

He ignored my words and motioned for the lady to sit with us. “Come pretty lady, come have a drink with us.”

She shamelessly obliged and sat right next to me while Anthony and the three other idiots of a friend that I have continued drinking and smoking, each had a call girl accompanying them and feeding them some grapes of shit like that.

“So, you rented a private booth, wear expensive tuxedo, drinks the most expensive wine and handsome as hell, are you some big shot around here?” The lady tried to start small talk with me. “My name is Tara, I'm a model and popstar” She introduced, thinking I'd fawn over her.

“What do you want Tara?” I asked, flatly.

She chuckled, obviously taken aback. Girls like her were old news to me, they have a killer body and pretty face hence they think no man can resist their charm.

“I'd like to be acquainted with you, you're devilishly handsome.” She shrewdly stated then puffed smoke to my face.

I frowned and looked her dead in the eye, I could feel her squirm a little but she tried to cover it up with a smile. She looked neat and her forwardness was a clear marker that she approached me with no ulterior motive.

“Quit playing hard to get and let the beautiful lady show you a good time.” Felix joked.

Tara took this as a cue to touch me. Her slender fingers trailed to my chest, rubbing her hand in a seductive circular pattern. I grabbed her hand, roughly and she gasped. “Do you know who you're dealing with? There's no turning back.”

She laughed and leaned in, her lips barely an inch away from mine. “Show me.”

Anthony whistled, his loud voice booming over the overbearing loud music. “She is a good one!”

My expression darkened and the girl beside him kissed him fully on the lips, shamelessly straddling him right there. They began to make out and I scoffed. “Get a room. This is disgusting.”

Felix laughed. “Don't like a fcking saint when you've got a hottie sensually massaging you.”

Tara's hand had now roamed to my thighs, calmly making her way to where the sun doesn't shine. I groaned as her skillful hands began to have an effect on me. “Let's go, I have a black card that lets me rent any hotel room in the world.”

I guffawed. “You clearly have no idea who I am, do you?”

She threw her entire weight on me, pressing her exposed boobs to my face. “Show me how rough you can be.”

With a swift move of my hand, I peeled her off me and she snickered, dissatisfied by my actions. A mischievous smile curled on her lips as she traced her hand down, lifting up her already short shirt and revealing her long slender legs.

Images of her flashed across my eyes.

Her long slender legs, spotless and beautiful.

Camila.

I growled as the image aroused a perverse desire in me, setting eyes on the desperate girl in front of me, I dragged her hair and roughly crashed my lips on hers, kissing her until she was out of breath. When I pulled away, her eyes lit with ecstasy. I grabbed her hand and sprung to my feet, let's go.

“Hey! Where are you going? Let's have fun here.” Felipe yelled after me but I wasn't listening.

Tara laughed excitedly as I unlocked my car door. “Get in.” I ordered.

“Where are we headed? There's this five star hotel nearby, no paparazzi, discreet as hell and-”

“There would be no need for that, I've got the perfect place in mind.” I interjected, igniting the car engine.

“Where?” She asked, leaning in for a dangerous kiss.

“My house.” I replied, flatly as I stepped on the gas pedal and accelerated the car into motion.

Tara kept talking, she spoke of her sexual prowess and the man ways she'd make me beg for more, she boasted of her sexcapades as well but I was paying absolutely no attention, my mind was fixated on just one thing so the moment we arrived at my house, I swept her off her feet and ascended the flight with speed.

With her arms wound round my neck, I headed for my room.

“Is this your house? It's magnificent!” She exclaimed, excitedly.

I caught sight of Camila's room, the door was slightly ajar and I changed directions, heading for her room instead. It was empty and I threw Tara on the bed, she winced a bit as it hurt but I began to unbuckle my belt.

“I like it rough.”

I grabbed her neck, slightly choking her until a tear rolled down her eyes. “Since you are driven by your desires, I'll give you the pleasure you crave.”
