Chapter 11 Chapter Eleven
Chapter 11 Chapter Eleven
Marco's POV
“Are you going to let her get away with talking to you that way?” Tara huffed. “You don't seem like a lenient person to me. I tell you, if any of my maids or staff members tries that with me, she's not only fired but I'll ensure her entire life is ruined.”
“Don't act cute, I'll have the chef make us something edible.” I cut her off, irritated by her whining.
“I think you should teach her a lesson, can y-”
I stopped dead in my tracks and abruptly grabbed Tara's arm. She winced in pain but froze in fear as I stared daggers at her. “Listen, you don't teach me how to run my house. The chef will make us some breakfast, is that clear?”
“Y-yes.” She stammered, pupils enlarged.
“Good.” I retorted, dismissively and walked away.
I headed for my room, hit the shower and let the cold water wash down on my body for fifteen minutes. Camila's disobedience and strange courage amused me and I recounted every second of our encounter that morning. I got dressed and went down to the dining room.
“Are you going somewhere?” Tara asked, her voice slightly muffled.
“The usual?” I asked the maid who began to dish my food as I sat down, plainly ignoring Tara.
“Yes Sir.” The maid responded, shakily.
With a slight wave of my hand, she scurried away.
“Will I see you again? Tonight perhaps or something?” Tara asked, attempting to establish a conversation.
I silently ate, focusing on the food. My phone vibrated and I checked only to see a message.
“Finish up your breakfast and my chauffeur will drive you home. I have business to attend to.” I flatly told Tara, not bothering to even glance at her.
“Are you tired of me or something? You are eager to get rid of me, got a wife?” Tara playfully remarked.
I shrugged lightly. “I have business to attend to and I'd rather you not witness any of it, it's not your regular barbie and her dollhouse type.”
“You think I'd kiss and tell?”
I snickered. “Do what you want, but don't say I didn't warn you.”
Her eyes twinkle with joy and she seemed relieved. I've seen it in girls like her. They want to move closer to me, desperate to show that they can stomach anything.
Fifteen minutes later, I heard cars pull up in my garage and I cleared my throat. The staff around understood the gesture and found their way out of the premises immediately. Tara still had a daring look on her face.
Anthony walked in, followed closely by three of his men and Jakob.
“You really did sleep well didn't you?” Anthony whistled as he saw Tara and she gave him a faint mischievous smile in response.
“You caught him?” I asked, impatiently.
“Yup, he tried to steal some of our clients and also stole some guns and stuff, he was napped at the trade-off, poor bastard had no idea.” Anthony explained.
The morning was already sour and what I despised more was a trusted worker of mine trying to stab me in the back. I moved towards Jakob, slowly but deliberately then placed a hand on his shoulder. “There's not a scratch on him.” I commented.
“Yeah, I figured you'd take the honors of landing the first blow.” Anthony laughed then pointed at Tara. “You sure you want the pretty lady to be here for this?”
“We'll find out soon.” I replied, lazily then gave Jakob's shoulders a little squeeze, he grunted. “What makes you think you can stab me in the back?”
He spat on my face and growled. “Go fck yourself.”
The men stiffened, not in anger but fear of my reaction. I calmly wiped the filth away and suddenly laughed. “Tara here already fcked me but guess who's gonna fck you?”
His eyes widened in shock and I stepped back. “He has a five year old daughter doesn't he? Begin the arrangements for her.”
He stiffened and all signs of life drained from his face.
“To what extent?” Anthony asked.
“The maximum.” I replied.
“No, please don't do this, she's just a child.” Jakob cried.
I scoffed and took a step away from him then gently patted his face. “I know.”
Then I motioned for a gun, it was handed over to me and I began to walk away, I stopped and shot Jakob twice in the legs, his screams filled the air and Tara screamed even louder.
Tara was shaking uncontrollably and began to move away as I moved closer to her. I smiled, calmly and arched an eyebrow. “I told you.”
I briefly glanced at the time on my wristwatch, I was running late for a meeting. “I have work to attend to, wrap this up.”
Anthony nodded, understanding the assignment. I smirked as I walked out, seeing blood makes my day a lot better.
The meeting lasted for about five hours, investors came from overseas just to attend and we had to discuss extensively. I ended up rescheduling it since I had other things to attend to.
As expected, my casinos were raking in more money and I fixed the problem of the gangs that tried to threaten my business by the time I got back home, it was late and I was famished.
“Why's dinner not yet prepared?” I asked a maid.
“Miss Camila hasn't come home.”
I frowned and dialed her number. She picked at the fourth ring.
“Hello.” Her voice was impatient, dry and forced and in the background I could hear some party music.
“Why is my dinner not ready yet?” I barked.
“I don't know, ask your chef.” She fired back.
“Camila, you're overstepping.”
“I told you, pets don't think. I'll be back when I'm done with work.” She retorted.
“You-”
She hung up and I almost spat out blood in anger but I slowly smiled, the type that didn't reach the eyes but was calculating. Instead, I dialed a number.
“Get the car ready, let's visit an old partner.”
“Yes boss.”
Half an hour later, I dialed Camila's number again and this time, when she picked up she sounded irritated.
“Do you plan on keeping tabs on my life?” She threw at me.
“Little wolf, how about you say hi to someone?” I calmly stated then put the phone on speaker. “Speak!” I commanded.
“He-hello? Camila?”
I could feel her freeze instantly.
“You lowly bastard! Don't you dare hurt my father, if you touch a-”
“You have twenty minutes to get here.” I spat then hung up.
I leaned back and exhaled slowly. ‘This is going to be fun.’
