CHAPTER 20 - THE LAST CHAPTER

“Dad!”

“You're so happy after sending me to jail son. How about I take your happiness from you?”

“No please dad, Let my daughter go!”

“Mina!”

“You sent me to jail, making me live in that disgusting place I could ever been. Pinakulong mo 'mo when lahat ay ginawa ko para sayo!”

“You did it for me?! No! You did it for yourself!”

“Your mother killed herself because she's foolish. Your dead girlfriend died because I love you that I don't want anyone ruin your future.”

“You killed both of them! You made them leave me!”

“Bakit hindi mo marealize ang mga ginawa ng tatay mo para sayo Thyrone?!”

“Tatay? Wow, what a word from you. Kailan ka bang tumayong magulang sa'kin?! Bukod sa pinag-aral mo 'ko, binigyan ng pera at binihisan ng damit! Bukod do'n hindi na 'ko nakaramdam ng pagmamahal ng isang magulang!”

“You have everything because of me!”

“No! I didn't have anything but your greediness in money! You raised me to become your successor not as your son! Sa oras na nasaktan ako at kailangan ko ng magulang, wala ka! Sa oras na halos mamatay ako kakaiyak, wala ka! Ang mga magulang kahit bumagsak ang anak hindi nila tinatakwil sarili nilang anak. Pero ikaw? When I didn't passed the bar exam tinakwil mo 'ko, iniwan mo 'ko! I actually forgave you for doing that thing. Pero narealize ko na hindi mo pala deserve ang mapatawad!”

Lumina's POV

His tears are falling one by one as his dad's expression didn't change. It's stil fill with greed, rage and

“Kaya huwag mong sabihin na ginawa mo para sa akin ang lahat! You only did it for yourself. Para hindi mawala ang pera mo, you only did it without thinking your son's feelings!”

“Then should I take this little girl away from you?! Para matauhan ka na ako lang ang nag-iisang taong nagmamalasakit sayo?!”

“Let go of my daughter right now! Just please, hindi ka pa ba sawa na lahat na kinuha mo sa'kin?! You took all of it from me! Hindi ka pa ba tapos sa pananakit sa'kin?!”

“Mali na pinalaki pa kita! Dapat pala nung una pa lang pinatay na kita!”

“Sana nga! Sana nga pinatay mo na lang ako. In that case hindi ko mararanasan ang kailangan kong maranasan mula sayo! I wish hindi na 'ko pinanganak! Edi sana buhay pa yung dalawang taong pinatay mo dahil sa'kin. You've caused too much pain to everyone! You took Lumina's mom because she saw you murdering someone! I'm so ashamed to be a son of a demon!”

He was about to slit my daughter's neck, agad na akong nagmadali at nagbato sa kaniya ng isang bagay, Thyrone punched him so hard and I took Mina away from him. Thyrone was hitting him countless times but suddenly..

“Thyrone!”

“Daddyyy!”

He was stabbed by his father.

Thyrone's POV

I opened my eyes and it's all white. Am I in heaven? But as I look on my side, I saw Lumina calling doctor to inform that I'm awake. Oh, so this is hospital.

“Doc! He's awake!”

“Patient, are you feeling okay?

“Yeah..” I feel dizzy as the doctor looked at my eyes with something like light.

“He's okay. Looks like he need to stay for 2 weeks for his wound to be healed.”

“Thank you, Doc.”

Wound? Oh, I remember. That person stabbed me.

“Lumina, How about him?! Did you hurt both of you?!”

“No, we're both okay.” I just sighed.

“Thank god, then.. Where is he?

“After he stabbed you, Kierra and Clyde arrived. Sabi nila tinatawagan ka daw nila pero di ka sumasagot, and I was texting them the whole time when you and your dad are talking to each other. They were able to contact the police pata iinform na nasa bahay yung nakatakas. And instead of sending him to jail, we sent him to a mental hospital.”

“Mental? Why?”

“He's a bipolar. The police recommended it na sa mental na lang siya dalhin. They said they noticed a few things while his on jail for years. Whenever he's so mad, he will try to hurt or kill his inmates.”

Lumina's POV

He looks sad, I can feel that he's still worried for his father. I know that he cares a lot on him after what he did.

“Do you know?”

“Hmm?”

“I can feel something inside me.”

“Do you need another check up?”

“No, it's a funny feeling. Maybe this is sadness? I thought I can be happy by making him disappear into my life, hindi ko alam kung bakit napakasakit sa loob ko na mawala siya. So funny right? He murdered to persons that brought pain to us, But.. I'm still worried and sad. How strange.”

I know that he love his father. Akala ko din okay lang siya and he will fell free pag nawala yung taong nagpapabigat sa loob niya. But I didn't know that he will shed tears for him, and his dad saw it.

— FLASHBACK —

May kasunod na ambulance ang police at agad nilang dinala si Thyrone, pero bago pa kami makasakay ng ambulansya, I heard him crying.

“Dad.. Dad.. I love you.. I miss you..” he's crying hard as his eyes were closed. Habang hawak ng police, nakita naman ito agad ng tatay niya. His expression changed, he became despondent. In a split second, I saw his tear fell.

Both of them really cared for each other, but the other one was love with possession that made the other one suffer too much.

“Mwommy!”

“Mina, what are you doing here?”

“Dinala ko siya dito so that she can see her father.” Clyde held my shoulder as he look at Thyrone.

“How's your feeling?”

“I'm okay.”

“How lame Thyrone, you passed out just because of one stab? And you made Lumina worried so much about you. Kung hindi ka lang nasa hospital baka sinuntok pa kita.”

“Hon, were you worried about me?”

“Gusto mo ako naman ang sumaksak sayo?”

“Hala nagj-joke lang ee. See Clyde? Yung taong nagustuhan mo dati, ganyan talaga ugali niya. Napaka sungit.”

“Oh really? She's kind though. Sadyang sakit ka lang sa ulo kaya ganyan siya sayo.”

“Hala Lumina sakit ba 'ko sa ulo sayo?”

“Medyo.”

We all laughed like nothing happened. Two weeks had passed and we visited Shaira's grave and even my mother's grave. Together with our daughter.

“How fast the time passed right?”

“Yeah, dati tayong dalawa lang ang pumupunta sa libingan nila, ngayon tatlo na tayo. 'Diba Mina?” she just smiled as she's riding on Thyrone's back.

“Lumina?”

“Hmm?”

“I love you.” I just chuckled.

“I love you too.”

Thyrone is worried about his father. But he continued to live his life carrying the sins of his family.

I suddenly remembered everything, our start. How we met on that storage room, how he hurt me, how I tried to take revenge without knowing he's already suffering too much. To his mother, thanks for creating a boy that met me as a man who married me with such a fate. I will take care of him dearly like how he loves me so much. I will grow old with him and join him in death. To Shaira, I will treasure the man you love, I hope you're happy now with your baby in heaven.

Life is short but you will suffer from pain longer. But as you suffer, you will meet a person that will totally change your life. That person will share your tears and pains, but when the time comes, the both of you will share happiness and smiles. Both of you will create a new life and will treasure it for the next generation. You will just realize, that the pain you felt, has every lessons you can take for another journey and even teach to your next generation.

We were tied by misfortunes from the very start, fate made us meet again and suffer again. But I guess, It worths it to experience those pain. Because in exchange, you will be greatful to meet someone in your life, you will be greatful that you were both tied.

Because of misfortunes in love, we met.
