Chapter 984: I Know Deanna Better Than You Do

Even though Eula tried hard to suppress her anger, Lance could still sense the murderous intent emanating from her.

At that moment, the coldness on Lance's face almost became tangible.

He stared at Eula with icy eyes and said in a frosty voice, "Eula, you'd better not have any crooked thoughts. Even if you have saved me, I won't let you off!"

Eula's barely suppressed jealousy flared up again.

But she understood that she couldn't reveal her emotions in front of Lance anymore.

"I'm not having any crooked thoughts. I was just momentarily upset. After all, this is a conflict between women. Your fiancée went to complain to you, isn't that bullying me because I don't have a boyfriend to help me out?"

Eula quickly thought of a perfect excuse for herself.

Lance, seeing that Eula didn't intend to come clean, had a glint of cold light in his dark eyes and said coldly, "To me, there's no such thing as men's or women's issues. My fiancée's matters are my matters. I won't allow anyone, including myself, to hurt her. Remember that!"

"Got it! I'll be careful in the future. But can you not make me move out?"

Eula looked at him pleadingly.

She didn't want to move out because it would mean fewer chances to see Lance.

Unfortunately, once Lance made a decision, no one but Deanna could make him change his mind.

Eula was furious and, in a moment of hot-headedness, shouted, "Then I demand to stay as my first condition!"

Lance gave her a deep look.

"Are you sure?"

I'm not sure!

Eula shouted in her heart.

Lance's promises were hard to come by. Three conditions seemed like a lot, but each one used was one less left.

Especially when used on something so trivial.

But no matter how reluctant Eula was, she eventually gritted her teeth and nodded, "I'm sure. I want to use this condition. Unless I leave on my own, you can't make me leave!"

Since she used this condition, she wanted to block all possible unfavorable factors.

Her little scheme didn't escape Lance's notice.

Lance said coldly, "If you behave yourself, I won't make you leave. But if you're rude to my family again, don't blame me for being merciless."

Hearing this, Eula felt both aggrieved and angry.

She clenched her fists tightly to suppress the murderous intent in her heart. Then she took a deep breath and returned to her usual playful attitude with Lance.

"Lance, you're too biased towards your girlfriend. You didn't even ask what happened and just assumed it was my fault?!"

"I know what kind of person Deanna is better than you do. She never causes trouble. As for you, do I need to say more?"

Lance didn't give Eula any face and defended Deanna.

Eula was instantly speechless and felt even more frustrated.

She felt that they couldn't continue this conversation; otherwise, she might really lose her temper.

Thinking this, she snorted softly and changed the subject arrogantly, "You said you would introduce me to some friends. When do you plan to do that?"

"When do you want to?"

Lance glanced at her, fully aware of her attempt to change the subject but didn't expose her.

Eula thought for a moment and smiled, "You have a saying in Chiaz: 'There's no time like the present.' How about today?"

"Alright, let's have dinner together tonight. If there's still time afterward, we can relax at the club."

Lance didn't refuse.

He thought that once Eula got familiar with Ollie and the others, he could let her hang out with them. That way, she wouldn't have the chance to cause trouble for Deanna behind his back.

After all, Eula's tactics were no less than his.

Eula guessed part of his intention and felt complicated inside.

But she wouldn't sit idly by.

If Lance wanted to pawn her off on his friends, he shouldn't blame her for using them.

Thinking this, she put on a bright smile and said cheerfully, "Since you've agreed, I'll go prepare. It's my first time meeting your friends; I must prepare some gifts."

Leaving these words behind, Eula turned and left.

Lance watched her disappear and couldn't help but rub his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

It was clear that Eula wouldn't give up on him easily.

Thus, he needed to prepare in advance.

As he pondered, he picked up his phone and dialed a number.

...

That evening, Deanna came out of the research institute and saw Lance leaning against the car door with his hands in his pockets.

She walked over with some surprise and asked, "Why are you here? Have you been waiting long? Why didn't you call me?"

"Not too long. Tonight I've arranged dinner with Ollie and the others. You're coming with me. Eula will be there too. I'll introduce her to Ollie and the others."

As Lance spoke, he opened the car door for Deanna like a gentleman.
