"You deserve to die, taking out such high-interest loans!"
Emily was furious.
It was unbelievable what they were saying!
One hundred million, even selling her again wouldn't fetch that much.
Garrett and Mia, looking at their angry daughter, were also short of breath.
After all, taking out high-interest loans was indeed their fault.
But Garrett, thinking about why he had resorted to such loans, retorted with a hardened tone, "How dare you blame us? If it weren't for you ungrateful daughters, your mother and I wouldn't have needed to borrow money. Anyway, you have three days to get Raphael to lend me one hundred million!"
Hearing this righteous tone, Emily felt both angry and choked up.
"No money, just one life. Otherwise, kill me and see if I'm worth a hundred million."
"Emily, you can't ignore us. You don't know how terrifying it was when those loan sharks barged into our house yesterday. Please beg Raphael to help us. You've been with Raphael for so many years, and the fact that he hasn't left you shows he still has feelings for you."
Mia, seeing the conversation between her husband and daughter growing more tense, decided to intervene.
Seeing the haunted look on her mother's face, Emily softened a bit.
But this wasn't something she could just agree to do.
Others might not understand her standing with Raphael, but she did.
If it weren't for that mysterious person, Raphael would have divorced her long ago.
Thinking this, Emily interrupted her mother, who wanted to continue persuading.
"No need to say more. Raphael has been kind enough to not take over Jones Group. What more do you want? Asking him to lend us money is impossible."
"Why is it like this? If Raphael doesn't lend us the money, your father and I might be killed by those debt collectors."
Mia became frantic.
Emily was not as nervous, calmly saying, "Isn't the company still there? Although its market value has been falling this year, it's still worth a hundred million."
Unexpectedly, this remark enraged Garrett.
"What nonsense are you talking about? If we mortgage the company, what will your mother and I do? How will I face the ancestors of the Jones family!"
"As if the Jones Group had any connection with the ancestors before. Everyone knows your company came from that woman Olivia."
Emily muttered disdainfully.
Even so, Garrett heard it and glared furiously, "What did you just say?!"
Seeing her father so enraged scared Emily.
She didn't continue her previous remark but changed the subject: "Although I can't get Raphael to lend you money, I know someone who can."
This statement immediately made Garrett and Mia look up anxiously.
"You both know her too. It's Deanna!"
Emily didn't keep them in suspense and said it outright.
However, upon hearing Deanna's name, Garrett and Mia's expressions turned strange.
It wasn't that they hadn't thought about asking Deanna for money, but they couldn't even meet her.
And even if they did meet her, given their past grievances with Deanna, how could she possibly lend them money?
Seeing the silent elders, Emily knew what they were thinking and smirked with a cunning smile, "You don't have to worry about whether Deanna will lend you the money. If she doesn't, you can take it by force."
"By force? What if the Mercer family..."
Garrett was tempted but worried about the Mercer family.
After all, he had suffered losses at their hands several times.
Emily didn't see this as a problem and scoffed coldly: "Don't worry. The Mercer family is too busy saving themselves to care about Deanna. As for Lance, you don't need to worry about him either. That man probably won't show up again."
At this point, she felt somewhat regretful.
Lance was perhaps the most outstanding and handsome man she had ever met.
But unfortunately, he had his eyes on that woman Deanna now.
The old Jones couple was stunned by Emily's words.
"Emily, what do you mean by Lance won't appear again?"
Garrett looked over excitedly.
Mia was also puzzled.
Emily just laughed and said, "I can't tell you the details, but you can go ahead and ask Deanna for money."
Meanwhile, Deanna was unaware of these events as she was handing over work responsibilities to Brent at the institute.
The staff members received the news and came over.
"Ms. Jones, why have you suspended all of Mr. Brent's work?"
Clearly, they didn't want Brent to leave.
Deanna noticed this and after looking them over and glancing at the compliant Brent beside her, she said indifferently: "I have my reasons for doing so. Go back to your work. Have you finished all your tasks?"
The staff members had no choice but to return to their work disgruntled.
Watching them leave, Deanna smiled ambiguously at Brent: "Brent, you seem quite popular here at the institute."
