After ensuring Logan was settled, Deanna didn't leave. Instead, she had someone bring her handbag from the project department to her.
Inside the handbag were her personal medical kit and silver needles.
Soon, the handbag was delivered into Deanna's hands.
After Deanna administered acupuncture, the unconscious Logan gradually came to.
He looked around at the people in the room, still slightly disoriented, and frowned, scolding, "What are all of you doing here? Is there nothing else to do? Are all the company's issues resolved?"
"Mr. Mercer, please don't scold them. They are just worried about you. Have you forgotten? You just fainted," Deanna quickly spoke up to explain on behalf of everyone else.
It was then that Logan, realizing what had happened, looked apologetically at the others, "Sorry everyone, I was a bit out of it just now."
"It's okay, as long as the chairman is fine."
"Now that the chairman is fine, we should get back to work. Remember to rest well, Mr. Mercer, and don't overexert yourself again. The company still needs you while Mr. Mercer is away."
"Yes, Chairman, please make sure to rest."
Everyone urged Logan, worried he might collapse again.
Meanwhile, they couldn't help but speculate.
Given the magnitude of the crisis at the company, why hadn't Mr. Mercer shown himself even once? Could something have happened to him?
Some guessed this possibility and felt it was likely.
Unaware of their thoughts, Deanna sent off the senior management. Concerned for Logan's well-being, she decided to stay in the rest room to take care of him.
Logan's assistant also stayed behind.
Looking at his boss's pale face, the assistant was worried, "Missus, shouldn't we take the chairman to the hospital?"
"If you're not at ease, we could indeed go for a hospital check-up," Deanna suggested.
She wasn't arrogant enough to assume that just because she didn't find anything wrong, there wasn't an issue.
After all, traditional medicine and Western medicine are different systems.
The assistant considered her suggestion and decided it might be wise to visit the hospital, but Logan refused.
"I know my body well; it's nothing serious. No need for a hospital. Deanna, you should get back to work too. Although today's incident didn't affect the project department directly, there's a lot of planning for next quarter that involves your department."
"It's okay; I have everything under control at my department. Besides, I think Mr. Mercer should really consider a hospital visit. You know that Lance hasn't returned yet, and everything at the company still depends on you. You absolutely cannot fall ill."
Deanna deliberately emphasized this point to remind Logan to think long-term.
Logan remained silent, his expression less resolute than before.
Seeing this change, Deanna immediately signaled to the assistant with her eyes to arrange for transportation to take Logan to the hospital.
Just then, the office door was forcefully pushed open from outside and Samantha rushed in anxiously.
"Logan! Logan!"
"Samantha, I'm here."
Logan called out as he saw his wife standing panicked in the middle of the office.
Hearing his voice, Samantha ran straight into the rest room and without regard for others present, threw herself into Logan's arms to check on him, "Are you alright? I just got a call from a company employee saying you fainted at work."
"I'm fine; just too tired and couldn't hold up for a moment. Luckily, Deanna was here and gave me a couple of needles. I'm feeling much better now."
Logan gently patted Samantha's back to comfort her.
Hearing this, Samantha's frantic heart gradually calmed down.
She had been genuinely scared. With Lance missing and if something happened to her husband too, she didn't know what she would do.
Thinking this, she wiped away the tears that had fallen in her haste and looked up to see Deanna also present. She didn't mind her earlier distressed state being witnessed and thanked Deanna profusely.
"Thank goodness you were here."
"Don't worry, Samantha. Although Logan is a bit weak, there's no major issue. Moreover, I've already arranged for a car. We'll take Logan to the hospital shortly for a thorough check-up."
Deanna reassured Samantha while explaining the next steps.
Samantha nodded and then supported Logan as they headed to the hospital.
Watching their departing figures, Deanna's facade of light-heartedness faded and her heart grew heavy.
With Lance missing and now an unknown entity targeting Mercer Group...
One problem after another-if Logan couldn't hold up... No, she shouldn't think such unlucky thoughts.
Deanna quickly dismissed these negative thoughts from her mind.
Even without Logan, there was still her!
She would keep Mercer Group safe for Lance and wouldn't allow anyone to tamper with his company!
With this resolve, Deanna returned to the office and called Shannon over.
In her view, since someone had used the internet to leak Mercer Group's information, there must be traces online. If she could find a skilled hacker, she was certain they could uncover the person behind it all.
