Deanna couldn't listen to Xavier's words and looked over with a low growl.
Xavier, standing in front of her, had tears welling up in his eyes. Despite his panic, he tried to control himself and spoke the truth instinctively.
"Mr. Mercer had an accident five days ago."
"Five days ago?"
Deanna looked over in disbelief. Overly shocked, she swayed twice, and then fainted.
Seeing this, Xavier was greatly alarmed and quickly reached out to catch her. "Missus!"
He called out to Deanna, but she remained unconscious.
Looking at the unresponsive Deanna, Xavier was terrified.
He hurriedly picked her up and ran towards the door, shouting, "Someone, come quickly!"
Before long, Angelo received the news of Deanna's fainting and rushed over with his team.
Initially, he thought it was Deanna's mysterious sleeping condition acting up again. After a thorough check, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Miss Jones didn't fall into a deep sleep; she was just overly stimulated and couldn't accept it for a moment, which caused her to faint. She should wake up soon."
After speaking, he was curious about what had stimulated Miss Jones so much.
However, despite his curiosity, he didn't forget his role.
Some things were not for him to be curious about.
So after the check-up, Angelo left the room with his team.
The room fell silent for a moment.
Xavier looked at the still unconscious Deanna, walked over to the sofa with his phone, and sent a message.
"Missus knows about Mr. Mercer's disappearance. What's the situation on your side? Has Mr. Mercer been found?"
"Did you blow your cover?" A simple question came quickly.
Before Xavier could respond, the other side couldn't wait and called him.
As soon as the call connected, an unhappy voice came through.
"What happened? Didn't the boss tell you to keep this a secret?"
"We did at first, but something happened at the company. The chairman couldn't reach Mr. Mercer and contacted Missus instead, which led her to suspect something."
Xavier replied with a bitter smile and couldn't help but sigh, "Change of plans."
After speaking, he didn't wait for the other person to respond and continued, "Is there any news about Mr. Mercer?"
"There's some contact. I found the marks left by the boss. The Dark Three and Dark Four teams are with him; safety shouldn't be an issue."
After saying this, the person seemed to think of something and immediately changed his tone, reminding Xavier, "Take good care of Missus. Don't let her leave the estate. According to the boss's instructions, if something happens to him, the people behind this will likely target Missus. I've already arranged for the Dark Eight and Dark Nine teams to secretly guard the estate."
Xavier's expression became serious.
"I understand."
He said this and then asked the other person to pass on a few messages to Lance before hanging up.
It turned out that Lance wasn't really in trouble but was using a ruse to lure out the mastermind behind everything.
However, plans couldn't keep up with changes, and the other side had prepared a backup plan.
Deanna knew nothing of this.
At that moment, she was unconscious on the bed. Perhaps because she was too worried, she dreamt of Lance being in trouble.
On an endless sea, a cruise ship suddenly exploded and began to sink.
Panic spread across the ship as Deanna anxiously searched everywhere on board.
Finally, she found Lance in a room on the top deck and tried to get him to leave quickly, but he couldn't hear her words.
However, she was relieved that although Lance couldn't hear her, he remained calm and organized his men to evacuate the ship.
Just as they were about to board an emergency lifeboat, Deanna suddenly heard a gunshot and saw a blood hole appear on Lance's forehead.
"Lance-"
Deanna woke up with a start, sitting up in bed covered in cold sweat, her face pale with fear.
Hearing the noise, Xavier rushed over. "Missus, what's wrong?"
"I dreamt that Lance was... killed."
Deanna found it difficult to speak as she recalled the nightmare.
Xavier saw her anxious state and breathed a sigh of relief. He comforted her, "Missus, dreams are often the opposite of reality. Don't worry; Mr. Mercer will be fine."
"No, I can't be at ease until I see Lance with my own eyes. Xavier, take me to where Lance had his accident. I need to find him myself!"
Determined, Deanna threw off the covers and headed for the door.
Xavier couldn't let her leave and quickly stepped forward to stop her. "Missus, you can't go!"
"Why can't I go? Move aside and don't stop me!"
Deanna glared angrily at Xavier.
Unmoved, Xavier blocked the doorway and earnestly advised, "Missus, you forget that when Mr. Mercer left, he instructed that you must not leave here!"
