Lance looked at her, his expression complex.
Deanna remained silent for a long time, not speaking.
Lance thought of Gregory and Chloe, feeling somewhat worried, and asked, "Gregory and Chloe, are they okay?"
The two children were still young, yet they had experienced so much.
He didn't want these troubles to cast a shadow over them.
Deanna ran her fingers through her hair, displaying the grace of a mature woman.
Upon hearing his concern for Gregory and Chloe, she couldn't help but smile.
"They're fine. When it happened, they were both outside," she said, thinking of her sick grandmother. She couldn't delay any longer.
So she said somewhat anxiously, "Mr. Mercer, I need to buy some medicine. We left in a hurry, and my grandmother isn't feeling well. She needs medication, and she's waiting for me in the room."
She had delayed with Lance for some time, hoping her grandmother was okay.
Lance nodded understandingly upon hearing this.
She ran to the pharmacy, her hair swaying with her movements, and soon disappeared into the night.
He watched her leave, keeping his gaze fixed until her figure vanished around the corner before withdrawing his gaze.
At that moment, Xavier timely approached, nodding respectfully to him and Julia, his movements courteous and elegant.
"Young master."
Lance didn't look at him, only instructing, "Dr. Deanna's house was vandalized. Go check if this has anything to do with Raphael."
Xavier's eyes briefly showed surprise upon hearing this command before quickly disappearing. He nodded, respectfully accepting the order.
He couldn't help but feel a bit emotional; Dr. Deanna indeed faced many hardships.
When Deanna and Lance were talking just now, he stood not far away and overheard their conversation.
He hesitated before reminding, "Young master, are you really going to help Dr. Deanna? If you are, merely suppressing Emily may not be enough to get what she wants."
The Jones Group was already a tough opponent, and now, with the Howard Group involved, it became even more challenging.
Lance glanced at him, speaking lightly, "You seem slow. If we have the evidence in hand, why worry about not achieving it?"
Xavier still seemed puzzled. "What evidence?"
Lance snorted coldly, saying, "Breaking into someone else's house without permission is a crime. The Jones family or Raphael, if they don't want to go to jail, they'll hand over what we want."
Since he had promised Deanna, he naturally would help her get what she wanted.
To him, this was just a small matter.
Xavier suddenly realized, looking at him with admiration.
Indeed, he was the young master, always getting to the heart of the matter.
He bowed his head, saying, "Rest assured, young master. I'll send people to investigate right away."
Soon, they also left the place.
Deanna rushed to the pharmacy, bought the medicine, and hurried back to the hotel, worrying about her grandmother's condition.
At the same time, she felt a bit guilty for delaying so long.
Fortunately, Old Ashley was fine; she took the medicine, and her symptoms quickly eased.
Old Ashley let out a sigh of relief, no longer feeling chest tightness.
She just felt tired, lifting her heavy eyelids to glance at Deanna.
"Deanna, I'm a bit tired."
Deanna tenderly took care of her as she slept. When her grandmother fell asleep, she went to the room of the two children next door.
Pushing open the door, Chloe shuddered violently, her pupils shrinking as she clutched the blanket tightly.
Gregory also looked wary, watching the newcomer.
When they saw it was Deanna, they breathed a sigh of relief, calling out softly, "Mommy."
"Gregory, Chloe, are you two okay?" Deanna looked at them with some concern. They were very well-behaved, responding, "Mommy, we're fine."
But she sighed; the two of them had been unusually quiet all afternoon, obviously frightened by today's events.
Chloe pouted, comforting her mother sensibly.
"It's okay, Mommy. The police uncle will catch the bad guys, and we'll be able to go home soon."
It had been a whole day, and Mommy's face hadn't looked good. She also hoped Mommy could be happy.
Gregory also said, "Mommy, you've worked hard today. You should rest well and sleep early."
He looked serious, his face showing a maturity beyond his age.
After hearing this, Deanna's eyes welled up, feeling a warm current washing over her, warming her entire body.
Being comforted by these two warm-hearted treasures, she suddenly felt a great courage within her, no longer feeling lost and afraid.
"Mommy knows. Mommy will rest with you."
She freshened up, hugged the two children, and the three of them sank into a peaceful sleep, enjoying a good night's rest.
The next morning, she was awakened by Julia's phone call.
"Deanna, I found a place, in a good location, a new residential area with good security measures. Shall I pick you up and show it to you?"
Deanna's heart stirred and she agreed.
After breakfast, the whole family went to see the house, and both children and Old Ashley seemed satisfied.
Old Ashley asked, "Deanna, what do you think of this place?"
Deanna observed; the house had three bedrooms and a living room, not too large but not too small either. The interior decoration was warm and cozy, just to her liking.
"It's good, let's go with this one."
She readily agreed.
