The hospital was reached quickly.
Deanna watched her friend standing motionless on the sidewalk after getting out of the car. She walked over, put her arm around her, and said softly, "If you can't go through with it, we still have time to reconsider."
"No, if I go back now, I don't know if I'll have the resolve next time."
With that, Julia resolutely stepped into the hospital.
Seeing this, Deanna sighed slightly and hurried to follow.
Who knew that before she could catch up to Julia, her eyes widened at the unexpected person who appeared.
Julia was equally shocked.
"What are you doing here?"
She looked at Lionel in astonishment, both nervous and guilty as she questioned him.
Then, as if realizing something, she turned sharply to Deanna. "Did you tell him?"
Hearing this, Deanna quickly understood that her friend had misunderstood, and it was a big misunderstanding.
"It wasn't me, I didn't say anything!"
She hurried to Julia's side and quickly explained herself.
Then she turned to Lionel and asked, "Mr. Grant, what are you doing here?"
"I was experimenting last night and accidentally got something on me. I had a severe allergic reaction, so I came to get it checked."
Lionel said, raising the bag of medicine in his hand.
Then he looked at the two women in front of him and asked, "Are either of you feeling unwell?"
Though he asked both of them, his eyes were on Julia.
Julia met his gaze, knowing she had wrongly accused her friend. Her expression was stiff and regretful but mostly guilty.
"Why does it matter to you if we're sick? Mind your own business."
With that, Julia grabbed Deanna's hand and quickly walked into the outpatient department.
Watching them walk away, Lionel frowned deeply.
For some reason, he felt that Julia was hiding something from him.
Especially when he recalled what she had said when he appeared earlier; it all seemed very strange.
Driven by curiosity, he secretly followed them.
Julia was unaware of this.
She pulled Deanna to the registration desk, glanced at the entrance, and asked, "He didn't follow us, did he?"
"Doesn't seem like it."
Deanna also looked outside on tiptoe but didn't see Lionel.
Hearing this, Julia patted her chest in relief. "That really scared me just now."
As she spoke, she seemed to remember something and turned to Deanna with an apologetic look in her eyes.
"Deanna, I'm sorry for doubting you earlier."
"It's okay, I understand."
Deanna didn't mind what had happened earlier.
If it were her, she might have thought the same way.
She held Julia's hand and said, "You stay here; I'll go register for you."
Julia originally didn't want to trouble Deanna but couldn't refuse her insistence. She watched as Deanna went to register.
A few minutes later, Deanna took Julia to the gynecology director's office.
"Who's sick?"
The doctor looked at the two of them and asked formally.
Seeing this, Deanna gently pushed the nervous Julia in front of the doctor and pressed her into the consultation chair.
After sitting down, Julia took a deep breath and directly stated her purpose. "I accidentally got pregnant. I can't keep this child. Can you schedule a surgery for me?"
"The surgery can be scheduled, but we need to check the mother's health first."
The doctor said and then confirmed again, "Are you sure you don't want this child?"
Without thinking, Julia shook her head. "I'm sure this child..."
"I don't agree!"
Lionel walked in with a complex expression before Julia could finish her sentence.
Seeing him, both Julia and Deanna's expressions changed.
One was shocked; the other was guilty.
Julia reacted and glared at the man in front of her with dissatisfaction. "What right do you have to disagree? What does this have to do with you?"
"How does it not? The child in your womb is mine!"
Lionel looked at her with a dark expression, very displeased that Julia was handling their issue privately.
He even vented his anger on Deanna. "Miss Jones, I thought we were friends. It seems I was mistaken!"
Deanna awkwardly rubbed her nose under Lionel's angry gaze.
But Julia got angry when she saw Lionel lecturing her friend.
"I told Deanna not to tell you. Why are you blaming her? Besides, it was just a one-night stand. We're both adults; we can handle it. I told you before that once we left that hotel, we were strangers!"
"But now you're pregnant. This can't be handled your way anymore!"
Lionel looked at her seriously.
Seeing that they were about to argue, the doctor who had been watching coughed lightly. "If you haven't decided whether to keep the child or not, why don't you discuss it outside first? Don't delay other patients."
"No need. I don't want this child. Doctor, please give me a check-up slip."
Julia looked at the doctor firmly.
