Chapter 832: Have Someone Deal with Lance?

The atmosphere in the car became tense.

Brent's forehead was covered in cold sweat, but he still held firm to his opinion. He gritted his teeth and said, "I know you are displeased with my refusal of the task earlier, but I'm speaking the truth. With Lance around, it's difficult to make any moves under his watch unless we can get him away from Deanna."

The mysterious man snorted but didn't make things harder for Brent because he knew Brent was telling the truth. Feeling the murderous intent lift off him, Brent couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

At this moment, the mysterious man beside him spoke, "You're right. Lance's presence is indeed an eyesore. I'll report to the master and have someone deal with him."

"Then I'll await your news," Brent said, a gleam of cunning flashing in his eyes. Without Lance, it would be much easier to get the special medicine from Deanna.

He remembered something else and reported proactively, "Additionally, I've recently learned that Lance has a hidden ailment, which seems quite serious. Gunner even sought out the rare medicinal herb Ice Crane Orchid for him."

"This information is very useful. I'll inform the master," said the mysterious man as the car stopped at the entrance of a courtyard in the old town arranged by Gunner. "Get out," he commanded coldly.

Brent nodded and opened the car door. As soon as he stepped out, the car drove away. Watching it disappear, he felt a chill down his back, realizing his clothes were soaked with sweat.

Deanna was unaware of what was happening. She and Julia went to the mall and soon started a shopping spree with all the new arrivals. During this time, Deanna gradually relaxed and became more cheerful.

After two hours of shopping, they were tired and found a nearby café to sit down. Enjoying the sunlight streaming in, Deanna closed her eyes in contentment. She hadn't basked in the sun like this since moving into the villa and starting her research on special medicine.

Julia couldn't help but tease her, "You look like a lazy cat."

"Cats are much happier than me," Deanna laughed, opening her eyes to see her friend staring blankly outside. Curious, she followed Julia's gaze but saw nothing unusual.

"Julia, what are you looking at?" she asked.

Julia snapped back to reality, quickly masking her sadness with a carefree smile. "I thought I saw Landon."

"Really? Is he back?" Deanna was surprised. About a month and a half ago, Landon had messaged her saying he was going abroad to expand his company, and she hadn't seen him since.

Julia wasn't sure. "I just thought it looked like him. Why don't you call Landon and ask?"

"Good idea. If he's back, we can all meet up tonight," Deanna said, taking out her phone to call Landon. She didn't notice Julia's expectant yet melancholic expression.

The call connected quickly, and Landon's playful voice came through. "Well, well, it's rare for you to call me."

"Julia thought she saw you on the street, so we were wondering if you're back. If you are, we all have time tonight. Want to meet up?" Deanna explained.

Landon chuckled. "Julia must have sharp eyes. I just returned this morning and was inspecting the company this afternoon when she saw me."

"So you are back! Why didn't you tell us?" Deanna's tone turned slightly accusatory.

Landon quickly explained, "I heard you've been very busy lately and didn't want to disturb you."

Deanna decided not to dwell on it and asked, "Do you have time tonight to meet up?"

"For your invitation, I'll make time even if I don't have any," Landon joked.

After exchanging a few more words, they ended the call.

Julia looked at Deanna expectantly. "What did he say?"

"He agreed. We'll meet tonight," Deanna nodded and then looked at her friend curiously. "Julia, I just realized you seem particularly interested in Landon's affairs."

Julia immediately denied it, "Who cares about him? I just happened to see him. Besides, he's not my type."

Her hasty denial only made Deanna more suspicious, but she chose not to press further.
