In the days that followed, Deanna, Lionel, and Brent stayed in the villa, working tirelessly to crack the formula for the special medicine.
Eager to develop the medicine quickly and escape their current dangerous situation, Deanna even gave up meeting Gregory and Chloe, relying on Lance to update her on the children's well-being.
Their hard work paid off significantly.
Deanna was close to decoding all the information she had.
She smiled at Lionel and Brent, satisfied with their progress. "In two more days, we'll have fully decoded the formula and can start developing the special medicine!"
"That's great news. We should inform your master," Lionel suggested, looking at Deanna.
Deanna nodded, already thinking the same. She picked up her phone to contact her master.
The call connected quickly, and Gunner's concerned voice came through. "Deanna, is something wrong?"
"Master, in two days, we'll have decoded all the components of the special medicine," Deanna shared the good news.
Gunner chuckled lightly. "That is indeed good news."
Then he added, "By the way, I mentioned before that I would send a team to you. They left yesterday and should arrive today. Someone will contact you later."
"Today? How many people? I'll arrange accommodation," Deanna said in surprise.
"Not many, just ten, but each one is an elite," Gunner explained.
Deanna realized these were handpicked elites by her master. She smiled brightly and thanked him, reminding him to stay safe. "You need to protect yourself too. I'm still waiting for you to come back and take me as your disciple."
"Don't worry. Once the special medicine is developed, everything will be settled, and I can return home," Gunner reassured her.
After a few more words, they ended the call.
Seeing Deanna in a good mood, Brent's eyes flickered as he probed, "Miss, I heard someone is coming. Did Master Gunner send more people?"
"Yes, my master is worried about my safety here and sent ten guards," Deanna replied openly. "He said once we develop the special medicine, he can return home."
Brent's expression froze for a moment but quickly recovered. He smiled and said, "That's wonderful. Honestly, I've never been away from Master Gunner for this long."
"I haven't seen my master for a long time either. Let's work hard to develop the medicine quickly so he can return soon!" Deanna encouraged them before calling Lionel and Brent to continue decoding.
They worked until evening.
Deanna's phone rang with an unfamiliar number.
"Hello, this is Deanna."
"My lady, this is Nightingale, leader of the Alpha Guard. We have arrived outside the villa. Please have someone let us in," a cool female voice said.
Deanna was surprised. "You're at the villa? I'll come out right away."
She hung up and hurried outside.
Seeing this, Brent knew the guards had arrived but pretended to be unaware. "Miss, where are you going?"
"The guards my master sent are here. I'm going to arrange things," Deanna explained. She paused and then added, "Brent, Mr. Grant, why don't you come with me? I don't know any of them. Brent can help ease the awkwardness, and Mr. Grant can meet them too. You might need their protection when you go out."
Brent and Lionel agreed without hesitation.
Back on the ground floor, Deanna instructed the villa guards to let them in.
Soon, accompanied by the villa's original guards, ten men and women appeared before Deanna.
Leading them was a woman about 1. 7 meters tall, with a slender build, wearing combat boots and a uniform. Her expressionless face made her look both cool and fierce.
"The Alpha Guard, Nightingale, reporting to Lady Deanna!" Nightingale stood in the center of the living room with her team, looking at Deanna with a strong presence.
Deanna was stunned by the scene.
Fortunately, Brent reminded her in time. "Miss, you should speak."
Deanna snapped out of it. "Nightingale, right? We're pretty informal here. No need to be so rigid. Nice to meet you."
Nightingale responded and then asked, "How would you like us to be arranged, Lady Deanna?"
