Chapter 756: The Theory Really Has Issues

After hearing Lance's words, Deanna was momentarily stunned but still didn't believe that Lionel had any feelings for her.

After all, she had publicly announced that she had a fiancé and children. Unless someone was out of their mind, how could they have any feelings for her?

"I think you're overthinking it. Mr. Grant might have said that out of politeness."

Seeing that Deanna still didn't believe him, Lance suddenly felt that continuing to argue might affect their relationship, so he decided to drop the subject. "Maybe I'm overthinking it."

Seeing Lance no longer insist, Deanna breathed a sigh of relief.

After all, one was her lover, and the other was a research specialist invited by her master. If the two had a conflict, she would be in a difficult position.

Little did she know, Lance noticed her expression and his eyes darkened slightly.

Lance could see that Deanna still didn't take his words to heart.

It seemed he had to find a way to expose Lionel's true colors.

Later, after the two finished their meal, Lance had to leave due to work matters.

But before leaving, he took Deanna to the research institute.

Deanna planned to simulate the theory Lionel mentioned earlier to see if there were indeed issues.

If there were, she could discuss it with her master as soon as possible.

This busy work took up most of the day.

It wasn't until nightfall that Deanna finally stopped her calculations.

She looked at the results on the table, frowned tightly, and murmured to herself, "The results indeed have issues, just as Mr. Grant said."

Just as she was about to contact her master, there was a knock on the door. She saw Lionel standing outside in a white lab coat.

"Mr. Grant, why are you here?" Deanna walked over to open the door and asked in surprise.

Lionel smiled and said, "I took a nap and thought about the issues we discovered earlier. I wanted to come to the institute to run another simulation to confirm it. I didn't expect Brent outside to tell me you were here too. Are you simulating the theory I mentioned earlier?"

"Yes, I am."

Deanna didn't deny it and even proactively mentioned her recent findings. "I calculated according to the theoretical values and found that the final results deviated by a few degrees from the theoretical values. Although this deviation is small, it can seriously affect the efficacy."

Upon hearing this, Lionel's eyes gleamed with a strange light as he looked at Deanna with undisguised admiration.

But recalling what Deanna just said, he responded professionally, "If the deviation is small, it's possible that the theory isn't flawed but that there was an error in our operation. How many simulations did you run?"

"I only ran one simulation for now. Could it be that I made a mistake in my previous operation?"

Deanna scratched the back of her head uncertainly.

Seeing this, Lionel smiled lightly and said, "How about this? Let's run another simulation together. If the results still deviate, then the theory indeed has issues."

Hearing this, Deanna naturally agreed.

The two then reset the instrument values and tidied up the experiment table before starting a new round of simulations.

Perhaps because of Lionel's involvement, the process that took several hours was cut in half.

While waiting for the simulation results, they discussed academic topics.

Especially when Lionel realized that Deanna wasn't very familiar with some theories in Western medicine and international medical papers, he proactively explained them.

Although Western medicine and traditional medicine are based on different principles, there are still areas where they can learn from each other.

As a result, Deanna listened very attentively.

When Lance arrived, he saw this scene.

In the laboratory, Deanna and Lionel sat close together, chatting happily.

At that moment, a sense of crisis triggered an alarm in Lance's heart. A surge of violent anger spread from his heart, making him want to impulsively rush in and throw the restless man inside into the sea to feed the fish.

But recalling his near-disagreement with Deanna in the morning, he forcibly suppressed his anger.

He raised his hand and knocked on the glass door.

Hearing the knock outside, Deanna and Lionel both looked up.

For some reason, although Lance appeared calm outside, Deanna felt that his mood wasn't as good as he showed.

"Lance, why are you here?"

Deanna walked out to ask and then explained in a voice only they could hear, "I was discussing an international medical paper with Mr. Grant."

As she spoke, she observed Lance's expression carefully.

Lance had notice Deanna's actions. A trace of helplessness and affection flashed in his eyes.

"I didn't overthink it. You don't need to explain. I trust you."

He said this while helping Deanna tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear and then asked, "Are you done?"

"Almost done. We're waiting for the simulation results," Deanna replied honestly.

Seeing this, Lance glanced at Lionel behind her without showing any emotion and gently asked, "How much longer will it take? Gregory and Chloe are waiting outside. If it's going to take long, I'll ask Xavier to bring them up."
