Chapter 69 Expulsion of the Twins

However, she had just taken her medicine halfway when she received a phone call.

Glancing at it, she saw it was Ms. Roman from the kindergarten.

"Ms. Roman, what's wrong?" she asked politely, but her heart skipped a beat.

Could something have happened with Chloe and Gregory?

Ms. Roman sounded anxious over the phone, "Gregory's mom, your son Gregory hit one of the kindergarten kids, and the child got injured. Now, the child's parents are here, demanding the school to expel Gregory. Please come over quickly."

Faint sounds of commotion could be heard from the other end of the line.

Deanna frowned. Why would Gregory hit someone for no reason?

Without further thought, she focused and replied, "Alright, I'll come over right away."

She didn't bother to tidy up, just washed her hands quickly and hailed a taxi to the kindergarten.

When Deanna arrived, Chloe was crying, her eyes red, hiding behind her brother.

Gregory was protecting his sister, looking angry with a flushed face, arguing with someone.

In front of him stood a well-dressed woman, exuding an air of haughtiness, wearing heavy makeup, and a disdainful expression.

She must be the child's parent.

At first glance, she seemed difficult to deal with.

The woman pointed at Chloe and Gregory, mocking in a shrill voice, "You two bastards, really have no manners! Is this how you speak to your elders?"

The contempt in her words made Deanna furrow her brows.

She walked over with a stern face and called out, "Gregory, Chloe."

As soon as the two children saw her, they ran over, "Mommy!"

Tears streamed down Chloe's cheeks.

Deanna felt a pang of heartache, wiping away her tears, "Mommy's here, don't be afraid."

She glanced carefully at Gregory and noticed redness on his cheeks and neck, obviously from a fight. Lowering her head, she saw scratches on his calves as well.

She furrowed her brows. Chloe's injury had just healed, and now Gregory was hurt again.

At this moment, Ms. Roman also approached, looking uneasy and troubled.

"Ms. Roman, what happened?"

Chloe and Gregory weren't the kind of children to resort to violence without reason. There had to be a cause behind this.

Ms. Roman looked hesitant, but before she could answer, the affluent woman raised her voice sharply, "Do you still have the nerve to ask what happened? Look at your son, what he did to mine!"

The affluent woman hugged her son, wearing high heels, and walked over slowly, casting a disdainful glance at Deanna.

Deanna, upon hearing this, looked at the child in her arms.

With a chubby face, he looked quite robust, wiping his tears and crying softly.

His face was scratched, with a huge bump on his forehead, still bleeding.

The child was dirty, and upon closer inspection, his arms seemed to have scratches too.

Deanna's expression turned serious, and she asked sternly, "Gregory, why did you hit someone?"

Gregory glared at the affluent woman but remained silent.

Seeing this, Chloe explained in a hoarse voice, "Mommy, Gregory was protecting me. Harlan wanted to take my things, and when I refused, he pushed me and made me fall. Gregory asked him to apologize, but he refused and even hit Gregory. Then, they started fighting."

As she spoke, tears welled up again.

She was worried if her brother would really be expelled.

Deanna, upon hearing this, comforted her by patting her head.

She looked at the affluent woman and said gently, "Harlan's mother, this is just a minor conflict between children. There's no need to blow it out of proportion. Children often have fights and squabbles; it's unavoidable."

After all, Gregory had also been hit by Harlan.

Both sides were injured, not severely, and a few days of rest would suffice.

She thought it unnecessary to make a big deal out of it. She could compensate for some medical expenses, and the matter would be settled.

However, the affluent woman sneered and retorted, "Just a minor conflict? Can your child compare to mine?"

Her tone was full of disdain and superiority.

Gregory couldn't bear it and wanted to argue with her again, but Chloe quickly stopped him.

Deanna frowned, feeling somewhat displeased but forced herself to remain patient.

Seeing Deanna's plain attire and her frown, the affluent woman assumed they were intimidated by her, and her arrogance grew even more.

She mocked, "Do you know who we are? Do you know how special my son's identity is? Associating with your kind only lowers our status."

She glanced disdainfully at Gregory, feeling even more self-satisfied.

Such a child and such a family, and they dared to talk to her?

Expulsion was the least they deserved!

The two "do you know" remarks made Deanna's anger rise.

She looked at the affluent woman with a sharp gaze.

This person had no manners at all.

The affluent woman was articulate and unyielding, saying, "Your son hit someone, and you still want to let it go? Today, if your son isn't expelled, I won't let it go!"

She stared, obviously difficult to deal with.

Seeing her son still crying, she comforted him, "Son, don't be afraid, Mommy's got your back! Let's send this wild seed back where he belongs!"

Harlan sobbed and murmured something.
