Chapter 679: I Am the Children's Grandmother

Deanna took the document and examined it, realizing it was indeed a share transfer agreement. All she needed to do was sign it for it to take effect immediately.

Her eyes flickered for a moment before she put down the document and looked up at Garrett, speaking coldly, "This is only enough for me to let Lance spare your Jones Group."

"What do you mean?"

Garrett looked over warily.

Deanna chuckled lightly and said indifferently, "Exactly what it sounds like. With Mr. Jones's abilities, I believe you can understand."

Garrett was momentarily speechless but soon retorted with dissatisfaction, "I already said, these shares are to ensure the safety of Jones Group and Emily."

"And I already said, these shares are only enough to save Jones Group. As for Emily, I don't plan on letting her go. Everyone must pay for their mistakes."

Deanna finished speaking and looked at Garrett with a strong gaze.

Facing those pitch-black eyes, Garrett suddenly felt as if he were facing Lance, causing an inexplicable panic within him.

However, he quickly regained his composure, though his expression remained grim.

He glared at Deanna with resentment and gritted his teeth, "Do you have no sense of kinship at all? Emily is your sister after all!"

"Sister?"

Deanna sneered coldly, looking at Garrett with mockery, "My mother never gave birth to any sister for me. Any random person can't just call themselves my sister."

Upon hearing this, Garrett's anger surged again. Unable to contain himself, he shouted angrily, "Deanna Jones!"

Almost as soon as he finished speaking, Shannon and Leighton, who had been on guard, immediately stepped forward and stood protectively by Deanna's side.

Seeing these two formidable sisters, Garrett's anger quickly subsided, and he regained his calm.

He looked deeply at Deanna, a calculating glint in his eyes. He stepped forward to retrieve the share transfer document and said, "Since you don't agree to my terms, this deal is off."

He had said this deliberately to test Deanna.

After all, no one knew better than him how much Deanna wanted to reclaim Olivia's belongings.

Unfortunately for him, this time he had miscalculated.

Deanna indeed wanted to reclaim her mother's belongings, but since she started doing business, her thinking had expanded beyond her previous limitations.

There were many ways to reclaim her mother's belongings. The simplest and most direct way was for Jones Group to face a crisis, and the timing was already halfway mature.

Garrett was unaware of Deanna's thoughts.

Seeing that Deanna showed no signs of regret after his words, his heart sank continuously.

"Deanna, you should know that after this opportunity passes, it won't be so easy for you to get your mother's belongings back from me next time."

"It's fine. I believe there will be many opportunities in the future. After all, Jones Group is now even inferior to Vortex Technology."

Deanna spoke with contempt as she looked at Garrett.

The mockery in her words was unmistakable.

Seeing this, Garrett gritted his teeth to keep himself from losing control and shouting in anger.

At the same time, he knew he couldn't stay any longer; otherwise, he would definitely explode.

"You'll regret this!"

Leaving these words behind, he grabbed his briefcase and left the office without looking back.

Deanna squinted her eyes as she watched him disappear, her expression inscrutable as she pondered something.

At this moment, Leighton's voice sounded beside her.

"Do you need us to snatch the briefcase from him?"

"Hmm?"

Deanna was momentarily confused by the question.

It took her a few seconds to understand Leighton's meaning. She laughed and said, "No need. Those documents are useless without his signature and seal."

Leighton nodded and returned to her position without saying another word.

Meanwhile, at the kindergarten entrance, Mia got out of the car with her branded handbag.

She looked at the luxurious school in front of her, pursed her lips slightly, and walked gracefully towards the gate.

"Hello, I am Chloe Jones and Gregory Jones's grandmother. I would like to see the two children, or you can bring them out to see me."

"You say you're Chloe Jones and Gregory Jones's grandmother? I've never seen you before."

The security guard looked at the elegant lady in front of him with suspicion in his eyes.

It was known that these siblings were specially instructed by the principal to be well taken care of.

Mia was unaware that she had aroused the security guard's suspicion. She forced a smile and said, "I was unwell before and had been recuperating abroad. Now that I'm better, I miss my grandchildren very much. So I came here right after getting off the plane. Can you please bring the children out or let me in?"

Hearing this obviously flawed story, the security guard didn't expose her lie.

"You wait here. I'll go inform them."

Despite his words, the security guard went directly to the principal's office instead of fetching the children.

Upon learning that someone claimed to be the chairman's grandchildren's grandmother but had never appeared before, the principal immediately contacted Deanna without hesitation.

When Deanna heard what the principal said, she became tense. "You didn't let Gregory and Chloe go out to meet anyone, did you?"

"Rest assured, missus. We found that woman suspicious and did not let Master Gregory and Miss Chloe go out."

The principal quickly explained, not wanting any misunderstandings with Deanna.

Hearing this, Deanna breathed a sigh of relief and told the principal, "You may not know this, but my mother passed away five years ago. So that woman must be fake."
