After some small talk, Logan and Samantha mentioned the banquet that would take place in half a month.
"The invitations have been sent out according to the guest list. Your grandfather will come down from the mountain for this event. During this time, you must not make any mistakes," Logan reminded them.
Samantha looked at Deanna and asked, "By the way, have you ordered your dresses? And what about the stylists for that day, have you made appointments?"
Hearing this, Deanna smiled and said, "Everything has been arranged. Lance asked Amy to help with the dresses and styling. You don't need to worry, Samantha."
"That's good to hear," Samantha sighed with relief. After giving a few more instructions for Deanna to take care of herself, Logan and Samantha left.
The next day, Deanna rested in the hospital. The following day, after the doctor confirmed her fever had completely subsided, Lance allowed her to be discharged.
When they got home, she found the two kids there and was surprised. "Didn't you go to school today?"
"Mommy, you must be so busy that you forgot today is the weekend," the kids said in unison.
Deanna felt a bit embarrassed; she had indeed forgotten.
Before she could say anything, the kids came over and hugged her, asking curiously, "Mommy, did you bring us any delicious food?"
"Uh... I forgot this time. Next time, I promise I'll remember to bring you something," Deanna said awkwardly.
She remembered that two days ago, she had promised to bring them delicious food to placate them.
The kids were visibly disappointed but didn't make a fuss.
Chloe, acting mature for her age, said, "It's okay if Mommy forgot this time, but next time you must remember. We should always keep our promises."
"I know," Deanna couldn't help but laugh as she pinched Chloe's cheek.
The family laughed and joked for a while before Sam walked in respectfully and reported, "Sir, Madam, Amy is here."
"Aunt Amy is here?" Deanna was surprised and asked Sam to invite her in.
Soon, Amy walked in with a group of people following her.
"Amy, what's all this?" Deanna asked in confusion.
Lance didn't say anything but seemed to have guessed what was going on.
Sure enough, Amy said, "Your dresses are ready. I was planning to come over when you were free to try them on, but my sister-in-law urged me to hurry up, so I came today."
She then turned to the staff behind her and said, "Display the dresses."
"Yes!" The staff responded and began setting up.
In no time, several exquisite dresses were displayed.
"Wow, so many beautiful dresses!" Chloe's eyes lit up at the sight of them.
Deanna was also amazed by the dresses.
Amy noticed their reactions and smiled with satisfaction. "These are all finished products. Since you're all here, try them on and see if any adjustments are needed."
"Thank you so much, Amy," Deanna said with a smile.
Lance nodded at his aunt.
Amy then organized her team into three groups. "Lance, Anna, these are your dresses. I'll have the staff assist you in trying them on. If there are any issues, they'll take notes."
"Alright," Deanna nodded and looked at the staff.
The staff members holding the dresses approached respectfully and asked, "Madam, Mr. Mercer, where would you like to try on the dresses?"
Lance looked at Deanna instead of answering immediately.
Deanna glanced at the dresses in their hands and smiled. "Let's go to the dressing room on the second floor; there's more space there."
After informing Amy, she and Lance headed upstairs.
Amy watched them disappear up the stairs before turning to Old Ashley. "Lady Ashley, these are some gowns I designed for you. Do you like them?"
Two staff members brought out four beautifully embroidered gowns.
Old Ashley's expression softened at the sight of these poetic garments. "That's very thoughtful of you. I love these gowns."
"I'm glad you like them. I'll have someone help you try them on to check the fit. If anything needs adjusting, we can do it right away," Amy said as she directed the staff to assist Old Ashley upstairs.
Soon, only the two kids and a few staff members remained in the living room with Amy.
The kids glanced at the small dresses in the staff's hands and looked at Amy with bright eyes. "Grandaunt, are these dresses for us?"
"Yes, I made these for you myself. Do you like them?" Amy's smile grew even more tender and doting as she spoke to the children.
The kids were so excited they started dancing around. "Chloe loves them! Grandaunt is the best!"
