"That's just borrowing your power, like a fox assuming the majesty of a tiger."
Deanna looked over playfully.
Lance loved seeing her playful side and said indulgently, "What's mine is yours. Don't say 'borrow,' I don't like it."
As he spoke, he gently flicked Deanna's forehead.
Though it didn't hurt, Deanna instinctively covered her forehead with her hand, wrinkled her nose at Lance, and said, "OK."
Laughing and teasing each other, they returned to the manor.
As soon as they entered, Deanna saw the butler coming downstairs with two suitcases and froze.
"Sam, what's this?"
"Mr. Mercer, Missus, you're back. The luggage is packed, and the helicopter will be here in half an hour."
Sam said as he brought the luggage to them.
Deanna was even more confused and looked at the man beside her inquiringly, "What's going on?"
"Isn't tomorrow the weekend? I planned to take you and the kids to a southern estate for a relaxing getaway."
Lance said, holding Deanna's hand and smiling gently at her.
Seeing this, Deanna couldn't refuse and didn't want to; her heart was filled with sweetness.
"It's so good to have you." She couldn't help but tilt her head and lean on Lance's shoulder.
At that moment, the two little ones came running down the stairs with their small backpacks.
Old Ashley followed behind them, muttering, "Slow down, be careful not to fall."
"We know, Great-grandma."
Though they said that, they didn't slow down.
Once downstairs, they saw Deanna and Lance standing in the living room and immediately ran over joyfully. "Mommy, Daddy, you're back! We've packed everything. When are we leaving?"
"Sam said there are many fruit trees at the estate, and they're full of fruit now. We can go pick some."
Chloe said with a look of longing.
Deanna found her adorable and smiled, "We can't leave just yet, but Sam said the helicopter will be here in half an hour to pick us up."
"Great!" The two little ones cheered happily.
Old Ashley also came down slowly from upstairs. Seeing the smiles on the little ones' faces, she too smiled kindly.
She then walked over to Deanna and advised, "Gregory and Chloe are going south for the first time. You need to be careful. On the first day, don't let them drink the local water; let them drink bottled water first to avoid any stomach issues."
"I know, Grandma. Don't worry."
Deanna nodded in agreement but then realized something and looked over in surprise, "Grandma, aren't you coming with us?"
Old Ashley shook her head with a smile, "I'm too old for such trips. You young folks go and have fun."
Deanna wanted to persuade her further, but no matter what she said, Old Ashley wouldn't budge.
In the end, Deanna's family of four boarded the helicopter.
The helicopter was Lance's private one and was well-equipped.
It had a bed for resting, a small kitchen, and a wine cabinet.
Deanna quickly prepared a few simple Western-style dinners and called everyone to eat.
During the meal, she couldn't help but remark, "Your private helicopter is quite well-equipped. It's almost like an RV I saw before."
"This helicopter wasn't like this originally. I had it modified a few days ago. I also had an RV custom-made so that we can travel more comfortably in the future."
Lance didn't hide what he had done.
The two little ones were thrilled to hear this. "Then we can go on trips more often!"
"All you think about is playing. After the New Year, you'll be starting elementary school. By then, you can't just focus on playing; you need to keep up with your studies."
Deanna smiled as she gently scolded them.
Gregory confidently waved his hand, "It's just elementary school. I've already self-studied up to third grade. It's not a problem."
"I've also studied up to third grade," Chloe echoed her brother's words.
Deanna looked at them, amused and exasperated, wanting to say something more.
But before she could speak, Lance's gentle voice came from beside her, "I think as long as their studies are fine, they should play as much as they want."
"Yay! Daddy is the best!" The two little ones cheered happily at Lance.
Deanna looked over reproachfully, "You spoil them too much. Aren't you afraid they'll become spoiled children?"
"We won't become spoiled children. My brother and I are very well-behaved. Right, Daddy?"
Chloe wrinkled her nose at Deanna and then acted cute towards Lance.
Lance looked at her adorable actions with infinite tenderness in his eyes and chuckled, "Chloe is right. You two are the best-behaved. Even if you're not sometimes, there's always a reason."
Seeing him side with their daughter no matter what she said, Deanna shook her head speechlessly.
After dinner, the two little ones played for a while longer before they couldn't resist their sleepiness and started nodding off.
Seeing this, Deanna carried them to the bed at the back.
Under the dim yellow light, she hummed an unknown lullaby softly as she gently coaxed them to sleep.
