After breakfast, Lance noticed that Deanna seemed a bit uneasy, knowing she was worried about the company.
"Don't worry, I've already had Xavier buy back the scattered stocks that were sold off. There won't be any issues with the stock market. If you're still concerned, you can head to the company now. Xavier should be there already. As for Gregory and Chloe, I'll take them to school."
"I am indeed worried about the company's situation. I'll leave Gregory and Chloe to you."
Deanna didn't hesitate. After speaking, she grabbed her handbag and quickly left.
Watching Deanna's hurried figure, Lance smiled and made up his mind to help out at Vortex Technology after dealing with the company's issues.
Deanna was unaware of this.
When she arrived at the company, she found many media reporters standing outside.
To avoid unnecessary trouble, she turned around and entered the company through the back door.
As soon as she got inside, she received a call from Xavier. "Missus, I heard from Mr. Mercer that you've arrived at the company. Where are you now? The front entrance is full of reporters. Don't come in through the front door."
"I know. I've already come in through the back door," Deanna said as she walked out of the safety passage.
She glanced at the office not far away and continued on the phone, "I'll be in the office soon. Let's talk then."
"Alright, Missus."
Xavier responded and hung up the phone.
A few minutes later, Deanna arrived at the office and found quite a few people inside.
Including Xavier, there were ten people in total.
When they saw Deanna enter, they all stood up respectfully and greeted her, "Missus."
"Hello."
Deanna nodded slightly and gestured to them.
Seeing this, Xavier began to introduce these people. "Missus, these are elite employees transferred from various branches by the company president. They can temporarily manage Vortex Technology's projects, market, customer service, and finance positions."
Hearing that these talents were transferred by Lance from various branches, Deanna felt deeply moved.
After some introductions, she had a better understanding of their capabilities.
Getting down to business, they began discussing important matters.
"Missus, the most pressing issue right now is recruitment. Although we can temporarily stabilize the company, there are many complicated tasks that we can't handle all at once. This could easily offend our customers."
Xavier pointed out the company's biggest dilemma.
Deanna nodded. "I understand. I've already asked the HR manager to offer better compensation and hire people as soon as possible."
"As long as Missus has arrangements in place, shall I have them start working now?"
Xavier looked at Deanna for confirmation.
Deanna nodded but didn't forget to instruct him, "Mr. Nelson, arrange their tasks and then come back. I have some things to ask you."
"Alright."
Xavier accepted the order and left with the group.
Soon, Deanna was alone in the office.
She didn't idle; instead, she started reviewing the documents on her desk. However, she didn't understand most of them.
She marked the parts she didn't understand, planning to ask Xavier when he returned.
About half an hour later, Xavier returned and stood in the center of the room respectfully. "Missus."
"Mr. Nelson, come over and help me with these documents. I don't know how to handle them."
Deanna waved him over and laid out the documents she didn't understand.
Xavier didn't refuse. He reviewed each document one by one. With his investigation of Vortex Technology from last night, he already knew how to handle these documents and began explaining them to Deanna.
One taught earnestly while the other learned attentively. The morning passed by unnoticed.
During this time, Deanna gained a lot.
After all, she wasn't a fool. She now had a general understanding of some basic management aspects of the company.
"Mr. Nelson, I'm glad you're here. Otherwise, these documents would have tormented me for another day."
Deanna looked at him gratefully.
Xavier humbly replied, "Missus flatters me. Since Mr. Mercer asked me to assist you, I naturally have to do my best."
Just then, Deanna's phone rang. It was a call from Lance.
She picked up her phone and smiled at Xavier. "Speak of the devil; he's calling."
She answered the call with a soft voice that even she didn't realize had a hint of coquettishness.
"Are you done with work?"
"Yes, I'm on my way to see you. How did your morning go?"
Lance asked with concern over the phone.
Deanna raised her eyebrows and smiled. "You lent me Mr. Nelson; how could it not go well? I've just finished a phase of work here too. Let me know when you arrive; I'll come down directly."
"Alright, take a break then. I'll message you when I get there."
Lance's affectionate voice came through the phone.
Deanna nodded happily and hung up.
Seeing her smile, Xavier guessed, "Is Mr. Mercer coming over?"
"Yes, he's on his way. We're going to have lunch together. Mr. Nelson, why don't you join us?"
Deanna extended an invitation, mainly to thank Xavier for teaching her management skills all morning.
