Deanna looked coldly at Leticia and asked, "Does Miss Walsh need something from me?"
"It's nothing much, just came to see you. By the way, how come Deanna is here?" Leticia asked with a curious look.
Before Deanna could respond, Leticia, realizing her mistake, made an annoyed face and said apologetically, "Look at my memory. You must be because of Lance. Speaking of which, I've been quite fated with Lance these past few days. Several times when I went out, I bumped into Lance and his friends. You weren't there there at those times, and I thought Lance didn't bring you along."
Hearing this pretentious remark, Deanna couldn't help but curl her lips sarcastically.
She had been wondering why Lance insisted on her coming along today; it turned out the problem was Leticia.
"Miss Walsh seems to have a misunderstanding about the word 'fate'?"
Deanna immediately retorted sharply, "It's fate when you expect to see each other. But that's bad karma for Lance as you keep pestering him."
Leticia seemed startled by Deanna's sudden change of expression, her bright eyes showing a timid look.
"Deanna, how can you say that about me? It was really just a coincidence that I ran into Lance."
"Leticia, stop pretending here. I think I know very well what kind of person you are," Deanna said disgustedly.
It was clear that Leticia had been scheming to seduce Lance but was pretending to be innocent and a good friend in front of her, which was utterly nauseating.
Upon hearing this, Leticia's expression froze for a moment.
However, she quickly recovered and continued innocently, "Deanna, what are you talking about? I don't understand."
She deliberately raised her voice a bit, attracting the attention of others around them.
Noticing the glances from around, Deanna frowned slightly and gave Leticia a deep look.
She could tell that Leticia had intentionally spoken loudly to prevent her from speaking too harshly.
Of course, Leticia succeeded.
After all, it was the first time Deanna attended a business evening with Lance, and she didn't want to cause trouble for him.
"Whether you understand or not, you know in your heart. I advise Miss Walsh not to do anything more; don't forget how you managed to stay here."
Deanna warned Leticia with a glance, picked up her plate, and turned to leave.
Watching her leave, Leticia's smiling face almost cracked.
Whispers and pointing glances came from around.
Leticia was aware of them and clenched her teeth secretly while maintaining her smile as she turned to leave.
On the other side, Deanna returned to Lance with a sour mood.
By then, there weren't many people around Lance.
Seeing Deanna approaching with an upset look, he immediately stepped forward to embrace her and asked with concern, "What's wrong? You look upset. Who bothered you?"
"I saw Leticia," Deanna confessed truthfully.
Hearing this, Lance also frowned and said sternly, "Did she bother you again?"
"It's not exactly bothering; it's just disgusting," Deanna replied with an annoyed expression.
Then she seemed to remember something and looked at Lance, "Why didn't you tell me earlier that Leticia was pestering you?"
Hearing this, Lance smiled wryly and explained, "At first, I thought it was a coincidence that we met. But after repeatedly encountering her, I realized something was wrong. I didn't want to tell you to avoid affecting your mood. I thought if you accompanied me to these events, she would back off. I didn't expect her to go after you instead."
His eyes flashed coldly as he spoke.
Seeing his upset look too, Deanna didn't want to spoil their mood over someone insignificant and changed the subject.
"Let's not talk about her anymore. Are you done here?"
"Almost. We can leave in a little while," Lance nodded in response.
Deanna nodded and handed him the plate of snacks she was holding, smiling, "Have something to eat."
Looking at the snacks in front of him, Lance didn't reach for them immediately.
He hugged Deanna and looked at her innocently, "My hands are full; why don't you feed me?"
"Stop teasing," Deanna looked at him coquettishly.
"I'm not teasing. Look, I'm holding you; how can I free my hands to eat?"
"You can let go," she said as she tried to wriggle out of his embrace.
Of course, Lance wouldn't let her succeed easily. He held her tightly and whispered near her ear, "Don't move."
The warm breath made Deanna tremble slightly, and her fair cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
She stomped her foot in annoyance and whispered lowly, "Lance, stop it. Let me go; people are watching."
"Then feed me," Lance repeated his earlier condition.
Left with no choice, Deanna complied.
And this scene caught the eyes of others around them, looking delightful.
Many sighed at how lovely the couple's relationship seemed.
