Landon noticed Lance's gaze and felt frustrated, but there was nothing he could do.
He changed the subject, raising his glass to Lance with a half-smile. "Mr. Mercer, this is the first time we've had a proper meal together. Cheers."
"Cheers," Lance replied, fully aware of Landon's thoughts, and drank the toast.
However, when Landon was about to drink a second glass, Lance interrupted, "Mr. Sherman, feel free to drink the rest. Deanna asked me to drink less, or she wouldn't be happy."
Landon felt hurt by these words. After all, he was single.
Julia felt the same way and deliberately wailed, "Mr. Mercer, that's not fair. You and Deanna are together while Landon and I are still single. Doesn't your conscience hurt showing off like this?"
"No," Lance shook his head honestly.
Deanna and the two little ones couldn't help but laugh.
Gregory mischievously added, "Godmother, if you're jealous, why don't you find us a godfather?"
Julia felt a pang of frustration and glared at him. "Easier said than done. Do you think it's that easy to find a boyfriend?"
Just as she finished speaking, Chloe delivered a blow. "Is it that hard? Why don't you get together with Uncle? You're single, he's single, and then you wouldn't be single anymore."
Julia and Landon instinctively glanced at each other before quickly looking away.
"I'd rather stay single than be with him/her," they said in unison, their tone full of disdain.
Deanna couldn't help but laugh at their reaction.
For some reason, she thought they had potential as a couple.
But she didn't say it out loud, fearing they might start fighting.
The meal ended with laughter and conversation.
Landon left early due to other commitments.
Julia held the hands of the two little ones and followed Lance and Deanna out of the restaurant.
She looked at the handsome couple in front of her and suggested, "Deanna, it's still early. Why don't you and Mr. Mercer go for a walk? I'll take Gregory and Chloe home."
Deanna smiled knowingly, aware that her friend was trying to create an opportunity for her to spend time with Lance.
The two little ones were excited and said, "Godmother, we don't want to go home. We want to go for a walk with Mommy and Daddy."
Seeing their enthusiasm, Julia couldn't refuse and agreed.
Soon, they went to a nearby shopping street.
The two little ones were very attached to Lance and wanted him to join them in everything.
Sometimes they even boasted to shop owners, "This is our daddy. Isn't he handsome?!"
Julia noticed their excitement and found it odd. "Gregory and Chloe are really close to Mr. Mercer?"
"They've always been close," Deanna replied with a smile.
There was one thing she didn't say.
Probably because they could openly call Lance 'daddy,' the two little ones were thrilled and wanted the whole world to know they had a handsome daddy.
Later that evening, they returned home around ten o'clock.
Since it was late, Julia went back to the manor with Deanna and the others.
The two little ones wanted to sleep with their mommy and daddy like the previous night but were taken away by their godmother.
"Godmother, why can't we sleep with Mommy and Daddy?" Chloe pouted, looking at Julia in confusion.
Gregory also frowned, his eyes filled with curiosity.
Julia noticed this and gently tapped their heads, smiling, "Silly kids, your mom and dad have just gotten together. This is the time for them to be all lovey-dovey. Instead of being third wheels, why don't you help them have some dates and build their relationship? Don't you want your dad to marry your mom sooner?"
Upon hearing this, the two children immediately regretted their actions.
"Godmother is right. We shouldn't be third wheels. We need to help dad and mom build their relationship."
With that, they looked to Julia for help, asking, "Godmother, what should we do now to make dad and mom closer?"
Julia responded without hesitation, "Of course, you should encourage them to have more dates and do things couples do."
"What things do couples do?" the two children asked eagerly, looking at Julia with curiosity.
Without thinking that the topic might be inappropriate for the kids, Julia straightforwardly replied, "Couples go out shopping, play together, watch movies, attend concerts-basically, anything romantic. And as the guy, he should occasionally give the girl small gifts, like flowers."
The two children nodded eagerly, "Now we know what to do."
Meanwhile, Deanna was unaware that her dear friend was corrupting her two kids again.
She returned to the room with Lance, who promptly embraced her warmly.
