After dinner, Julia left.
The two children were very conscientious.
Gregory went to wash the dishes by himself, while Chloe wiped the table clean and arranged the chairs.
Seeing the children being so sensible, Deanna couldn't help but feel delighted.
Chloe finished the housework, ran over, and hugged her, saying in a soft, cute voice, "Mommy, after finishing the work, what else are we going to do?"
She thought for a moment and came up with an idea, "How about Mommy teaches you and your brother some characters and idioms while waiting for him to finish washing the dishes?"
In the coming years, they would have to learn these things.
She had already bought textbooks for the next few years in advance.
By giving them a preview, their future learning life would be easier.
Although she wasn't worried about their future grades given their intelligence, there was no harm in previewing.
Thinking of this, she was very satisfied and made a gesture of "plan approved".
Chloe thought for a moment, clapped her tender little hands, and replied, "Okay! Chloe wants to learn!"
She looked excited, showing her cute little tiger teeth as she smiled.
Deanna called from the kitchen, "Gregory, are you done washing?"
"Yes, Mommy!"
Gregory replied and ran to her.
"Brother, Mommy said she's going to teach us idioms!"
Chloe shook Gregory's arm.
Gregory glanced at Deanna, who had an interested expression on her face.
He nodded, noncommittal.
Deanna told them, "Come on, let's go to your bedroom. Mommy will teach you the content of third grade today!"
She took out the prepared teaching materials and entered the children's room ahead of them.
Then, she sat in the middle of the desk and let the two children sit on either side of her.
"Come on, read with Mommy. This idiom is called 'self-evident,' meaning that one person doesn't need to speak, and the other person already understands."
She pointed at the idiom in the textbook and carefully taught the children.
"I got it, Mommy, it's 'keen-eyed and clear-headed'!"
Chloe nodded and repeated.
She then took out paper and taught the two children to write.
"Mommy, learning idioms is interesting, but not very difficult."
After finishing four books, Gregory shrugged, and Chloe agreed.
"Mommy, are there any other courses? I still want to learn!"
Obviously, they weren't tired at all, still full of energy.
Deanna felt a bit embarrassed, forced a smile, and said, "Mommy hasn't bought the textbooks for the next courses yet. When I get them, I'll teach you. You two play for a while, Mommy is going out."
"Okay, bye Mommy!"
They obediently said goodbye to her, remembering to tidy up the textbooks on the table for her.
She shook her head helplessly; these two children were simply genius. They learned quickly and knew many characters. Even though they were still in kindergarten, they had already mastered the content of second grade. She wondered how many times she had sighed in her heart. Their intelligence wasn't inherited from her. She didn't have that ability. It was probably inherited from their father. The man she didn't even know!
At half-past nine, she went to the children's room and urged, "It's late, you should go to bed and listen to Mommy."
Seeing them turn off the lights, she went to the study and started studying the ancient medical art left by her master.
Her master left her several thick books.
Most of her medical skills were learned from them.
Because they were too profound, there were many things she hadn't fully researched.
Seeing it was eleven o'clock, Old Ashley came in and said, "Deanna, it's late, you should rest first."
She yawned and agreed before putting away the medical books.
The next day, after sending Chloe and Gregory to kindergarten, she went to Old Hughes' pharmacy.
She needed to buy some medicinal herbs there.
Seeing Old Hughes, she greeted, "Good morning, Old Hughes, I've come to buy some medicinal herbs."
Old Hughes was particularly enthusiastic when he saw her and invited her into the reception room.
"Anna, you finally came. I've been studying an ancient medical book recently, it's a rare edition. There are several parts that I haven't quite figured out. I was thinking of asking for your help!"
Deanna said somewhat embarrassedly, "Old Hughes, I might not understand it."
She didn't want to waste too much time here.
Old Hughes waved his hand, insisting, "I know! But taking a look won't hurt, right?"
She had no choice but to follow him to the back room.
She knew Old Hughes wouldn't let her off easily.
Old Hughes took out a book from the bookshelf.
It was old, with yellowed pages.
She took a look and indeed, it was a rare edition of an ancient medical book.
It recorded many pharmacy recipes that were still usable today.
The ideas were unique, different from conventional medical practices.
Unfortunately, the latter part of the book was missing.
She couldn't help but feel sorry, "This is a good thing."
Old Hughes laughed and wagged his index finger, "You clearly know its worth but pretend not to. You, this girl, are really something!"
Deanna smiled and evaded, "I have less experience, and my medical skills are far worse than yours. I may not know more than you."
Old Hughes understood her implication and didn't force her, changing the subject, "You just said you wanted to buy medicinal herbs, what do you want to buy? What are they for? Is it for Lance's treatment?"
She nodded, saying in a deep voice, "Yes, besides using needles for his treatment, I also need medicinal herbs for conditioning. We've used decoctions and soaks before. Now, I want to add another method, medicated diet."
