Chapter 518: Lance is Terrible at Dating

Ernest was taken aback by his wife's words and laughed in exasperation.

"So all these years, you haven't welcomed my second brother and his family, and you don't like Hassan because you think they are suppressing us?"

"Isn't that the case?"

Mrs. Walsh looked defiant. "You're the eldest in the family, but the company president is your second brother. Even Hassan holds a higher position than you!"

Hearing this, Ernest suddenly felt a sense of helplessness.

"Do you think all this is because Father is biased?"

Mrs. Walsh didn't speak, but her expression made her feelings clear.

Ernest shook his head in disappointment. "You're wrong. It's not because Father is biased. I didn't want to manage the company, so I let my second brother do it."

"How is that possible?"

Mrs. Walsh was surprised.

Ernest chuckled lightly. "In your eyes, maybe every family fights for those empty titles, but not ours. My second brother is more skilled in business than I am. The Walsh Group can develop better under his management than mine."

Mrs. Walsh was stunned by his words.

Seeing this, Ernest's anger dissipated.

After all, he had never told his wife about this.

Mrs. Walsh snapped out of her daze and awkwardly said, "So I've been misunderstanding all along?"

"Yes, you misunderstood."

Ernest nodded.

Hearing this, Mrs. Walsh felt a mix of emotions.

But soon, she remembered that they shouldn't be dwelling on this topic. The important thing now was to find their daughter.

"We've strayed from the topic. Shouldn't we have someone look for Leticia? I feel like Mr. Mercer is hiding something."

Mrs. Walsh hesitated as she spoke.

Ernest thought she was overthinking it. "Mr. Mercer may be ruthless in business, but he wouldn't trouble a girl in real life. Leticia is probably upset from being repeatedly rejected by Mr. Mercer and went to a bar to drink. You should contact her friends and ask around."

Mrs. Walsh found some sense in his words and immediately contacted Leticia's friends.

Little did they know, their conversation was overheard by Hassan, who was hidden around the corner.

Hassan was a bit surprised.

So all these years, it wasn't his uncle but his aunt who had been causing trouble for him and his father.

He felt a sense of helplessness rise within him.

Meanwhile, Deanna was unaware of what was happening downstairs.

After returning to her room and tidying up briefly, she went to Old Walsh's bedroom to check on him.

Old Hughes was there, playing chess with Old Walsh.

Seeing Deanna come in, he greeted her with a smile, "You're back. Where's Lance?"

"Lance is in the room handling company matters. I'm here to treat Old Walsh," Deanna replied with a gentle smile.

During their conversation, Old Hughes asked where they had gone that afternoon.

Deanna answered, "We just walked around the central square park."

"I knew it would be like that. Lance is terrible at dating; you should talk to him."

Old Hughes spoke with disdain.

Deanna couldn't help but defend Lance with a laugh, "It's not as bad as you say. He even gave me a bouquet of flowers."

"A bouquet of flowers? That's nothing; you're too easily satisfied."

Old Hughes pointed at Deanna and teased her.

Deanna blinked and defended Lance again, "Isn't it the thought that counts?"

Old Hughes was at a loss for words.

Old Walsh watched from the side and teased, "You have the nerve to say Mr. Mercer doesn't know how to date? I remember when you were young, you were worse than Mr. Mercer. At least he gave Dr. Deanna a bouquet of flowers; you gave a girl a blade of grass!"

Hearing this, Deanna was shocked.

"Old Hughes, you have such a dark history?"

She teased him playfully.

Old Hughes instantly got defensive and retorted, "Don't listen to him! It wasn't just grass; it was acacia flower, an herbal medicine."

"Even so, it's still just grass."

Old Walsh insisted on his version of the story.

Old Hughes was left speechless.

Deanna couldn't help but laugh, covering her mouth to stifle it.

Meanwhile, Mr. and Mrs. Walsh still had no news about Leticia.

Ernest couldn't help but worry.

He thought for a moment and called Hassan over for help. "We still haven't heard from Leticia. Can you help me find her?"

"Sure, give me a list of places she frequents," Hassan agreed with a nod.

A few minutes later, he had several addresses from Ernest and was ready to leave.

Just as he reached the door, he suddenly thought of something and turned back, heading to Deanna's guest room on the second floor and knocking on the door.

"Come in," Lance's cold voice came from inside.

Hassan pushed the door open and walked in.

Seeing him, Lance was a bit surprised. "Are you here for Deanna?"

"No," Hassan shook his head.

Lance raised an eyebrow and coldly said, "So you're here for me?"
