In the Walsh family mansion, Leticia's face turned sour after Deanna and Lance left.
She initially wanted to leave in a huff but was held back by her mother.
Mrs. Walsh glanced at her daughter's displeased face and whispered in a voice only they could hear, "Why rush? There are still ways."
Leticia was stunned and looked at her hesitantly, as if asking what other ways there could be.
Mrs. Walsh didn't answer her. Instead, she turned to Hassan with a smile and said, "Leticia and I will go upstairs to pack. We'll leave shortly."
"Alright, I'll wait for you and my cousin at the door later," Hassan replied with a gentle smile.
Mrs. Walsh nodded and then pulled Leticia upstairs to a room.
As soon as they entered, Leticia couldn't wait to ask, "Mom, what other ways do you have?"
"Don't worry. Today, you'll definitely get a chance to be alone with Mr. Mercer," Mrs. Walsh promised.
Leticia wanted to ask more, but she saw her mother take out her phone and start making a call, so she swallowed her words.
The call was quickly connected, and Mrs. Walsh instructed the person on the other end, "I need you to track two people. I want the results in half an hour."
After giving Deanna and Lance's names, Mrs. Walsh hung up the phone with satisfaction.
Seeing this, Leticia curiously asked, "Mom, who were you calling?"
"A friend. When he calls back, we'll go and 'accidentally' run into Mr. Mercer. Just follow my lead," Mrs. Walsh said as she leaned in to share the plan with her daughter.
Leticia's eyes lit up as she listened.
But soon, she seemed to think of something and added, "Cousin likes that Deanna. If we can get them together and make Lance see them getting close to each other, he definitely won't want Deanna anymore."
"That's worth a try," Mrs. Walsh agreed.
Unaware of all this, Deanna went to a nearby park with Lance after buying some herbs.
Xavier sensibly stayed behind in the car.
Walking on the cobblestone path, Deanna and Lance were unusually silent, perhaps due to the change in their relationship.
"Why aren't you talking?" Lance finally broke the silence.
Deanna tilted her head and asked in confusion, "Is there something we should talk about?"
"No need. This is fine too," Lance said as he squeezed Deanna's hand and continued walking happily.
Deanna looked at his handsome face with a sweet smile on her lips.
The sunlight bathed them, creating an indescribably beautiful scene.
The park was large, with a plaza at its center surrounded by various vendors selling all sorts of small trinkets.
As Deanna and Lance walked through the crowd, their striking looks drew many admiring glances from tourists.
At this moment, a little girl selling flowers approached them.
"Handsome uncle, buy some flowers for the pretty lady," she said, handing a decorated bouquet of roses to Lance.
Lance didn't refuse and asked, "How much?"
"Not much, uncle. Ten dollars for two," the little girl said, holding up two fingers cutely.
Thinking of his own daughter, Lance's heart softened. "In that case, I'll take all the flowers you have."
"Great! Thank you, uncle. I wish you and the pretty lady everlasting happiness," the little girl said joyfully as she handed all the flowers to Deanna.
Deanna accepted them with a laugh and watched as the little girl left with the money. She turned to Lance helplessly and said, "Carrying so many flowers feels strange."
"No worries. I'll have Xavier come over to take them later," Lance said as he continued walking with Deanna.
Just then, they saw Mrs. Walsh and Leticia approaching with Hassan from the opposite direction. Lance's brows furrowed immediately.
"Lance, what a coincidence! I didn't expect to run into you here," Leticia greeted them with surprise, ignoring their cold expressions.
Her eyes briefly flashed with jealousy as she glanced at the roses in Deanna's hands but quickly masked it.
Mrs. Walsh also approached with a smile. "What a coincidence indeed. Since we've met, why not enjoy the park together?"
She thought that as an elder speaking up in public, Lance and Deanna wouldn't refuse.
But Lance showed a cold attitude. "No need. I don't want anyone disturbing us," Lance said coldly before leaving with Deanna in his arms.
Seeing this, Leticia became anxious and instinctively tried to follow but was stopped by Hassan.
"What are you doing? Let go of me," Leticia snapped angrily at him.
