"It's not that, I just want to say I'm not the murderer."
The middle-aged man looked aggrieved.
Hassan sneered as he met his gaze. "Do you think I would believe you?"
The middle-aged man fell silent, trembling with fear.
Hassan looked at him indifferently and then spoke again. "But if you tell me who is behind this, I might consider being lenient. Otherwise, with what you've done, you could be looking at over ten years in prison."
Hearing this, the middle-aged man showed signs of struggle.
Finally, as if making a decision, he gritted his teeth and looked at Hassan. "If I tell you the truth, will you really let me go, Mr. Hassan?"
"Of course."
Not really.
Hassan had no intention of letting him go.
The middle-aged man didn't know this and confessed. "It was Miss Walsh who instructed me."
"Leticia?"
Hassan was stunned.
The middle-aged man nodded and continued. "Miss Walsh said that if I followed her instructions, she would give me a million dollars and promote me to her assistant."
Hassan's face turned extremely grim.
He hadn't expected Leticia to be involved...
But was it just Leticia's idea, or was his uncle also involved?
Thinking about this, Hassan felt uncertain.
Meanwhile, the middle-aged man grew increasingly anxious seeing Hassan's silence.
"Mr. Hassan, I've told you everything. When will you let me go?"
Hearing this, Hassan looked up, his eyes dark. "Not yet."
"But you just said that if I confessed, you'd let me go."
The middle-aged man became desperate.
Hassan sneered. "That was then. Now I've changed my mind. If you're willing to identify the mastermind, I'll be lenient."
Meanwhile, Leticia felt uneasy upon learning that Hassan was personally interrogating the household staff.
"Hassan won't find out anything, will he?"
She paced nervously in her room, unable to calm down.
At one point, she even considered seeking help from her parents but ultimately decided against it.
She knew very well that if she told her parents, they wouldn't cover for her.
Although they doted on her, they were very principled.
As Leticia fretted, there was a sudden knock on the door.
"Who is it?" She jumped, her voice sharp with anxiety.
Soon, a servant's voice came from outside. "Miss Walsh, Mr. Hassan has asked you to come to the living room."
Calling her to the living room-had Hassan found something?
Leticia stood in her room, pale-faced with anxiety.
The servant outside called again after receiving no response. "Miss Walsh?"
"I know. I'll be down shortly."
Leticia forced herself to respond calmly.
The servant acknowledged and left.
Standing alone in the room, Leticia felt overwhelmed by the impending situation.
Despite this, she gritted her teeth and forced herself to calm down.
"Why panic? Even if Hassan found something, I just won't admit it!"
Perhaps this self-encouragement worked; Leticia gradually calmed down.
She then opened the door and went downstairs to the living room.
Upon arrival, she noticed that everyone in the family except for Grandpa was present.
Hassan looked at the tardy Leticia with a cold expression and mocked, "Leticia, making everyone wait for you-aren't you ashamed?"
With these words, everyone except Old Hughes and Deanna frowned.
They felt Hassan was deliberately picking a fight.
Leticia thought so too.
But for some reason, facing her cousin's stern face, she didn't dare retort and instead made an excuse. "I was sleeping. How could I know you'd suddenly send someone to call me down? I had to wash up and get ready."
No sooner had she finished speaking than Hassan sneered at her.
"Really? I thought you were feeling guilty."
"Guilty? Guilty of what?"
Though she spoke confidently, a closer look would reveal Leticia's hands clenched into tight fists.
Seeing the two about to argue, Mr. and Mrs. Walsh quickly intervened. "Hassan, you called us all here but haven't said why."
"Yes, what's going on?"
Hearing this, Hassan stopped pressuring Leticia.
Even so, Leticia's heart was in her throat as she stared intently at Hassan.
Old Hughes also urged. "Hassan, if you have something to say, say it quickly. I have medical books to read!"
Hassan glanced around and decided not to beat around the bush. "I gathered everyone because I've found out who poisoned Grandpa!"
