Chapter 482: Won't Let Deanna Have It Easy

Old Hughes entered the room and saw that Deanna was already checking the pulse.

He walked in and asked, "How is it? Have you diagnosed anything?"

Hearing this, Old Walsh and Hassan looked up.

Deanna remained focused, her fingers on the old man's wrist, frowning in concentration.

Seeing this, Old Hughes refrained from disturbing her and also stopped his friends from speaking.

The three men waited quietly for Deanna's diagnosis.

Under the light, Deanna's expression was serious and focused, exuding an indescribable aura.

Hassan gazed at her beautiful profile, his heart fluttering, and he found himself entranced.

After about three or four minutes, Deanna finally stopped checking the pulse and withdrew her hand from Old Walsh's wrist.

"How is it?" Old Hughes asked with concern.

Old Walsh and Hassan said nothing, but their eyes betrayed their emotions.

Deanna's expression was grave. "Old Walsh's condition is more severe than what you described on the way here. It's quite tricky. His liver has developed abscesses, which have also affected his lungs."

"Can it be treated?" Hassan asked anxiously.

Deanna didn't hide the truth. "It can be treated, but it requires three consecutive days of treatment. We need to use acupuncture combined with herbal medicine to drain the pus from his liver and control the inflammation in his lungs."

"As long as it can be treated, that's good. Miss Jones, please let us know if you need anything," Hassan said with relief and warmth.

Deanna nodded and listed the items and herbs she needed but hadn't prepared.

Hassan memorized them and turned to instruct someone to gather the supplies.

Soon, only Deanna and Old Hughes were left in the room.

After the diagnosis, Old Walsh had recognized Deanna's medical skills and began chatting with his old friend.

"Anna must be your apprentice. She's quite impressive for her age."

"Old Walsh, don't say that. She's not my apprentice; I wish I could be her student!" Old Hughes quickly corrected him.

Old Walsh was taken aback.

Before he could ask, Old Hughes explained, "Anna has another master. She is a successor of ancient medical arts. Despite her young age, her skills surpass mine."

"Old Hughes, please don't praise me so much. I can't compare to you. You've practiced medicine for many years and have extraordinary skills. I'm just starting out and have much to learn," Deanna said modestly, feeling embarrassed by the compliments.

Old Walsh had a good impression of her as he observed her humble manners.

"Since you'll be treating him for the next three days, I'll have someone prepare rooms for you to stay here. It will be more convenient," Old Walsh said to Old Hughes.

Deanna had no objections.

At that moment, Ernest and his wife entered the room, asking with concern, "Dr. Deanna, how is my father's condition?"

"Although it's tricky, it can still be treated. Don't worry," Deanna replied honestly about Old Walsh's condition.

Ernest and his wife sighed in relief. "Thank you, Dr. Deanna."

"It's my duty," Deanna nodded.

However, Leticia, who had followed them in, looked displeased and muttered to herself.

Could this woman really cure Grandpa?

Regardless of whether she could or not, Leticia was determined not to make things easy for her.

Old Walsh instructed his daughter-in-law, "Prepare two guest rooms. Anna and your Uncle Hughes will stay here for the next few days during the treatment."

"Alright, I'll arrange it right away and have the kitchen prepare a lavish dinner to welcome Old Hughes and Miss Jones," Mrs. Walsh said thoughtfully.

Old Walsh was pleased with her response.

Soon, the guest rooms were ready.

Deanna and Old Hughes went to their rooms to unpack.

During this time, Deanna called her grandmother to inform her that she would be staying for a few more days.

"Grandma, I might need to stay here for a few more days. Please take care of things at home."

"Don't worry about it. Focus on your work; I've got everything under control here," Old Ashley replied with a smile and reminded her to stay safe.

Deanna nodded and assured her she would.

As they spoke, two little voices came through the phone.

"Grandma, is that Mommy on the phone?"

"When is Mommy coming back?"

The two children gathered around Old Ashley curiously.

Behind them stood Lance in casual clothes. Though he said nothing, his expression revealed his feelings.

Grandma didn't notice and smiled at the children. "Mommy will be back in a few days. Do you want to talk to her?"

"Yes! I miss Mommy," Chloe said eagerly and reached for the phone.
