Under the glaring lights, Deanna looked at the incredibly handsome man in front of her with innocent wide eyes, feeling a bit lovestruck.
At this moment, they were very close, and the air was filled with the faint scent of fruit wine from Deanna and her unique fragrance.
Lance's eyes were dark as he looked back at Deanna in front of him, something stirring within him, restrained.
Just then, Deanna began to act restlessly.
She raised her hand in a lovestruck manner, reaching for Lance's face, muttering to herself.
"You're so good-looking, even better than me. Why are you this good-looking?"
As she spoke, her hand traced from Lance's forehead down to his chin.
It seemed like she intended to go further.
Just as her restless hand was about to slip into his white shirt, a large hand suddenly reached out, firmly grabbing her delicate hand.
At the same time, Lance's hoarse voice sounded in the room, "Behave yourself, or don't blame me for doing something."
Who knew that as soon as he finished speaking, Deanna looked at him with innocent confusion.
"What can you do?"
"Let me show you what I can do!"
Feeling provoked, Lance swiftly flipped Deanna over, reversing their previous positions so that he was now on top, looking down at Deanna in his arms.
Deanna had no idea how provocative her words had been.
At this moment, her mind was muddled, and she had no clue what Lance intended to do. Her beautiful eyes stared at him with pure innocence.
Lance, however, found it hard to proceed under such a gaze. He had initially intended to prove he could do something but suddenly felt hesitant.
In the end, he lowered his head in frustration and lightly bit Deanna's chin, his voice muffled. "You know, I won't take advantage of the situation to get intimate with you."
Deanna responded with a cry of pain.
Of course, she hadn't heard what Lance said.
But when Lance heard her cry out in pain, he immediately let go of her.
At that moment, he noticed a clear mark on Deanna's chin and felt a pang of regret.
He knew her skin was delicate and hadn't used much force, but he hadn't expected to leave a mark.
"Delicate!" he muttered. Despite his words, he gently rubbed her chin, trying to smooth out the mark.
Perhaps his touch was too gentle; Deanna felt very comfortable and closed her eyes in contentment like a lazy cat seeking a petting, tilting her chin up.
Little did she know how enticing this action was.
Especially under the light, her pink lips looked full and tempting.
Lance almost lost his composure.
Fortunately, he restrained himself. Once the mark on her chin wasn't too obvious, he quickly helped Deanna lie down on the bed and hurried towards the door.
He feared that if he stayed any longer, he wouldn't be able to resist making a mistake.
Just as he opened the door, two small figures rushed towards him.
Luckily, he reacted in time and grabbed each one by the hand, preventing Gregory and Chloe from falling to the ground.
"What are you doing here?"
Lance frowned at the two little ones in front of him.
Without waiting for them to answer, he carried them out of the room.
Once outside, he put them down in the hallway, crossed his arms over his chest, and asked again, "What were you doing at the door?"
The two little ones looked a bit sheepish and tried to explain. "We were just checking on Mommy."
"Checking on Mommy from the door?" Clearly, Lance didn't believe them.
Gregory chuckled. "We didn't want to disturb Uncle and Mommy."
"Exactly. We're so considerate. How could you be mad at us?"
Chloe chimed in, looking as if Lance didn't appreciate their thoughtfulness.
Lance found it both amusing and exasperating.
Seeing their deliberately innocent expressions, he couldn't bring himself to scold them.
Finally, he sighed and patted their heads. "No more next time. Go play."
The two little ones breathed a sigh of relief and nodded. "Got it."
They took a few steps but then turned back to look at Lance.
"Uncle, you have to work hard. We really want to see you and Mommy together and be able to call you Daddy openly one day."
These words touched Lance deeply.
He looked at the two little ones with emotion in his eyes and said in a low voice, "There will be that day. Just don't hold it against me."
The last sentence was said so softly that the two little ones didn't hear it clearly.
"Uncle, what did you just say?"
"Nothing. If you want to call me Daddy now, go ahead."
Lance encouraged them.
After all, he was indeed their biological father.
Unexpectedly, they shook their heads. "Although we want to call you Daddy, Mommy would be upset. We'll wait until you're together with Mommy. So Uncle, you have to work hard!"
