Bella saw the person in the distance and was filled with disbelief.
"Xavier, how could it be you?"
She didn't wait for Xavier to answer and questioned again, "Why did you capture me?"
Xavier stood still, a cold smile on his face. "Doesn't Miss Cody find any of this familiar?"
Bella was taken aback by the question.
She looked around but couldn't grasp Xavier's meaning.
Finally, losing her patience, she demanded again, "Familiar? Xavier, what are you trying to do? What do you want from me?"
Seeing Bella's impatience, Xavier decided not to keep her in suspense.
"If Miss Cody has forgotten, let me remind you. Half a month ago, what did you have done at Beyond Club?"
He paused for a moment before continuing with a mocking expression, "Do you remember now?"
Bella's face stiffened as she recalled what Xavier was referring to.
Her pupils contracted slightly as she tried to maintain her composure. "What did I have done? I was at Beyond Club that night, but I was with my father the whole time!"
"So, you're denying your actions."
Xavier's eyes turned cold as he looked at her.
Bella's heart skipped a beat under his piercing gaze. She gritted her teeth and denied again, "This is ridiculous. I did nothing wrong. What do you want me to admit?"
She then sternly added, "Xavier, you'd better let me go now. Does Lance know you've captured me?"
"Rest assured, Miss Cody. It was Mr. Mercer who instructed me to capture you."
Xavier wasn't intimidated by Bella's stern facade.
His truthful words threw Bella into a state of panic.
Lance had ordered Xavier to capture her. Could it be that Lance had discovered what happened before?
Bella's mind raced with thoughts, unable to find peace.
But Xavier's next words answered her doubts.
"Since Miss Cody refuses to admit it, I'll be straightforward. That day, you arranged for someone to lure Dr. Deanna to the club under Mr. Mercer's name. Then you had her captured and locked in a room similar to this one. We're just doing the same to you."
Hearing this, Bella realized her conjecture was right.
Even so, she couldn't admit it. "Nonsense! I never did such a thing!"
"Never did?"
Xavier sneered. "So you're still unwilling to admit it? It doesn't matter if you don't; your classmate has already confessed that you instructed him."
Bella's heart surged with waves of panic upon hearing this.
Could that person have been caught?
At this moment, Xavier's cold voice rang in her ears again.
"Bella, at this point, will you admit it or not?"
"I won't admit it!"
Bella suppressed her panic and denied it again through gritted teeth.
She wasn't stupid.
If Lance had truly found her classmate, he wouldn't force her to confess like this but would present direct evidence.
So she was sure Lance had no evidence.
This realization eased her anxiety slightly.
"Without evidence, you can't force a confession out of me for something I didn't do. Unless you show proof!"
Bella looked defiant and unyielding.
Xavier was speechless.
They indeed had no evidence, but...
So what?
"Fine. Whether you admit it or not doesn't matter. Mr. Mercer wants to give you a taste of your own medicine. Enjoy yourself, Miss Cody!"
With that, Xavier signaled the bodyguards to release the drunken men nearby.
He then coldly told the drunks, "Alright, go ahead and have fun with the beauty."
"Hehe, finally! Hottie, here I come."
One of the drunks made a lewd sound as his eyes roved over Bella from head to toe.
Bella felt disgusted and furious under their gaze. "Don't come near me! I'm the eldest daughter of the Cody family. If you touch me, the Cody family won't let you off!"
She threatened and warned the drunks while angrily shouting at Xavier, "You can't do this to me! I want to see Lance! I want to see him!"
Xavier remained unmoved and continued questioning her coldly.
"So do you admit what you've done now?"
"No! I never did that! What do you want me to admit?!"
Bella shouted in anger and humiliation as if Xavier had wronged her.
Xavier shook his head and sneered coldly. "Still talking tough? Whether you admit it or not doesn't matter anymore because Mr. Mercer won't let you go!"
