Cursing and swearing, the man went over and started kicking and stomping on Deanna again.
Deanna couldn't fight back at all. She could only curl up, holding her head, trying to minimize the damage.
For a moment, she felt like she might pass out from the pain.
But she knew she couldn't faint; otherwise, she wouldn't know what these men would do to her.
She forced her eyes open wide, trying to stay conscious.
At this point, the other two men saw Deanna lying motionless on the ground and got a bit scared.
"Stop kicking her. Don't kill her. I don't want a dead body."
As they spoke, the two men stopped the first man.
The man seemed tired from beating her and stopped. He shook off his friends' hands and sat on the bed to rest. "Check if she's still alive. If she is, throw her on the bed so we can continue."
"Now you're worried if she's dead? You were pretty fierce when you were hitting her."
Despite their words, one of the drunk men stepped forward to check on Deanna.
Deanna wasn't unconscious. She lay still because it hurt too much to move. She needed time to recover.
She wanted to stay still to think of a way to escape. The door was locked, so her only option was the window. She didn't know which floor they were on.
No matter how high it was, she'd rather die than let these men defile her!
As she thought about this, she saw someone approaching her again. Her eyes darkened with determination and fierceness.
"Hey, are you dead? Say something."
The man nudged Deanna with his foot.
Deanna held her breath and didn't move.
Seeing this, the man frowned and crouched down to turn Deanna over.
As soon as he reached out his hand, Deanna attacked him with all her strength.
She pushed him down and ran towards the window while he was still in shock.
Meanwhile, Lance finally tracked down Deanna's whereabouts.
He watched the surveillance video with a grim expression.
In the video, Deanna was tied up and carried out of a room by two men in staff uniforms into an elevator.
Lance's eyes looked murderous as he stared at the hotel manager. "When I rescue her, you better give me an explanation!"
With that, he turned and left quickly, his heart filled with anxiety.
Xavier gave the manager a sympathetic look before following Lance.
Deanna didn't know Lance was on his way.
She had reached the window but was terrified by what she saw outside.
It was a drop of several stories.
If she jumped, it would be certain death.
Though she had spoken resolutely before, now faced with reality, she hesitated.
She had too many people she cared about in her heart.
The men in the room saw Deanna's actions and guessed her intentions. They laughed immediately.
"If you have guts, jump!"
"Jump! If you don't jump, we'll play you to death!"
They taunted Deanna without any concern for consequences.
Deanna was already panicked and helpless. Their taunts pushed her closer to jumping impulsively.
Though she couldn't bear to leave her children behind, she knew Lance would take care of them.
With that thought, she started moving again.
Seeing that Deanna was really going to jump, the men's faces changed.
They just wanted to have fun; they didn't want her dead.
The only uninjured man rushed forward and pulled Deanna away from the window.
"Let go of me!" Deanna struggled with all her might.
But she wasn't strong enough to break free and was pulled away from the window.
The man seemed afraid of being attacked by Deanna again and let go immediately after pulling her down.
Deanna hadn't expected him to let go suddenly. She lost balance and fell sideways onto a table corner with a loud thud, passing out from the pain as she hit the floor.
The man hadn't expected this turn of events either. He stared at the unconscious woman on the floor in shock until he saw blood spreading from her head and panicked instantly.
"Hey! What's wrong?"
He nudged Deanna with his foot again.
Deanna didn't respond.
Despite this, he remained cautious. After all, Deanna had pretended once before.
He kicked her harder this time. "Stop pretending! Get up."
Still no response from Deanna. As he kicked harder, she rolled over onto her back. It was then he realized she had truly passed out and panicked even more.
"Boss! She's unconscious."
"Play with her anyway! Otherwise our suffering is for nothing!"
The man who had been kicked by Deanna earlier snorted coldly.
