Chapter 426: Mommy Must Take Responsibility for Uncle

Deanna listened to these words, knowing that Lance was doing it for their good, but instinctively wanted to refuse. Before she could say anything, Lance's voice rang in her ears again.

"I know you don't want to go, but you can't bring danger to your grandmother, can you?"

Unsurprisingly, this hit Deanna's soft spot. Indeed, her grandmother was very old and shouldn't be startled.

In the end, she compromised and said, "Then I'll trouble Mr. Mercer."

However, the two little ones were very happy to hear that they were going to stay at Uncle's house.

"Mommy, can we go back and bring the cats? Can we bring Whiskers and Luna with us?"

"We want to play with them and Demon."

The two little ones looked at Deanna excitedly.

Seeing their carefree expressions, Deanna felt tired and simply threw the question to Lance.

"Ask your uncle. If he allows it, we'll go back once we're settled and visit your great-grandma."

Hearing this, the two little ones immediately looked at Lance.

Before they could speak, Lance said proactively, "You can bring your Whiskers and Luna."

"Great, thank you, Uncle!"

The two little ones thanked him happily.

Later, when they arrived at Hencard Villa, Sam had already received the news and was waiting at the door with the servants. When he saw Mr. Mercer getting out of the car with Deanna and the two little ones, he greeted them joyfully.

"Young Master, you're back. Dr. Deanna, Master Gregory, Miss Chloe, the guest rooms are ready."

"Thank you."

Deanna smiled and nodded. After a bit of rest, she planned to take the two little ones home for a visit. After all, they hadn't been back for several days, and she was concerned about her grandmother.

When Lance found out, he had an urgent company meeting and instructed Sam to arrange a car to take the three of them home.

In the evening, Deanna took the two little ones home. Old Ashley had already been informed and had the housekeeper prepare dinner, waiting for their return.

But when she saw Deanna and the kids returning lightly without luggage, she was puzzled.

"Where is your luggage?"

"Our luggage is at Mr. Mercer's."

Deanna said, knowing her grandmother would ask more, so she proactively explained. However, she didn't tell the truth because she didn't want her grandmother to worry. "Mr. Mercer is still injured, and I need to take care of him there. Gregory and Chloe also need to stay there."

Hearing this, Old Ashley frowned, feeling it was a bit inappropriate.

"Isn't this too much trouble for Mr. Mercer?"

"Grandma, don't overthink it, I know what I'm doing."

Deanna knew what her grandmother was worried about and shook her head gently.

Seeing this, Old Ashley didn't say anything more but started asking the two little ones about their time abroad.

Chloe animatedly talked about their travels, and Gregory occasionally chimed in.

Seeing them so happy, Deanna couldn't help but smile.

After a while, Julia came over. She didn't know Deanna was back and had come to look after Old Ashley. When she walked in and saw her friend and godchildren sitting at the dining table, she was surprised.

"Deanna, Gregory, Chloe, when did you get back?"

"Godmother!"

The two little ones happily waved at Julia.

Deanna smiled at Julia and said, "We got back this morning. Why are you here? Have you had dinner?"

"You came back this morning and didn't tell me. You must be neglecting your best friend now that you have a boyfriend."

Julia complained as she walked to the dining room and sat opposite Deanna.

Deanna was puzzled, "When did I have a boyfriend?"

"Tsk tsk, still denying it. Aren't you with Mr. Mercer?" Julia teased.

Deanna was instantly at a loss for words.

Old Ashley, hearing this, frowned and looked at her granddaughter suspiciously, "You said you wouldn't stay here, is it because you're with Mr. Mercer, living together?"

"Grandma, what are you thinking? Didn't I just say, it's because Mr. Mercer is still injured and needs me to watch over him."

Deanna quickly defended herself, then glared at her friend, "Who told you I was with Mr. Mercer? Don't spread rumors."

Julia blinked and looked at the two little ones. At this moment, the two kids realized it was not good and quickly gestured to Julia not to speak.

Their little gestures were noticed by Deanna, who immediately understood.

"Tell me, what nonsense did you tell your Godmother behind my back?"

Deanna stared at the two little ones, questioning.

The two kids, seeing their mommy's serious expression, felt guilty.

Finally, Chloe couldn't take it and confessed first, "We didn't talk nonsense. Mommy and Uncle kissed, twice!"

"That's right, Mommy, you can't bully Uncle and not take responsibility."

Gregory chimed in, lecturing Deanna.

Deanna was completely stunned. What did they mean she wasn't taking responsibility?

Before she could say anything, she heard her best friend's voice, not wanting to miss out on the fun, "Deanna, this is your fault. You've already kissed Mr. Mercer, and you're still denying your relationship!"
