Deanna finally snapped out of her daze when she heard those words. She instinctively tried to distance herself from Lance, but the arm around her waist tightened. A warm breath brushed her ear, followed by the man's magnetic voice, "Don't move."
Deanna stayed still. Lance looked at the tense woman and smiled gently, "Relax, I won't do anything to you."
Hearing this, Deanna wanted to retort that being so close made it impossible for her to relax. Lance seemed to understand the look in her eyes and smiled again.
"We've already taken our wedding photos. Can't you get used to this?"
"Who took wedding photos with you?" Deanna glared at him in embarrassment and anger, then struggled out of Lance's embrace and walked away without looking back.
Watching her retreating figure, a trace of helplessness flashed in Lance's eyes. He hadn't expected to tease Deanna into such a state.
The two little ones saw their mommy walking over angrily and exchanged a glance. "Mommy, why are you here? We haven't finished taking photos yet."
"Mommy is a bit thirsty. Let's find a place to rest," Deanna said, making up an excuse.
The two children blinked, knowing she wasn't telling the truth but didn't expose her. Gregory held his mommy's hand and suggested sweetly, "I remember there was a coffee shop on our way here. Let's go there."
He said this while giving his sister a look. Chloe understood and gestured that she got it before turning and running towards Lance.
"Uncle, what happened between you and Mommy?" She asked quietly, eyes full of concern.
Lance took her small hand and replied, "Don't worry, your mommy is just shy."
Hearing this, Chloe sighed in relief. "That's good. Uncle, you and Mommy need to get along well. I like seeing you together."
She looked up at him like a little adult and instructed, "And remember, Uncle should always be a gentleman and take care of Mommy."
Seeing the little girl worrying about him and Deanna, Lance couldn't help but laugh. He then looked at Deanna and Gregory walking away and changed the subject. "Where are your mommy and brother going?"
"Mommy said she's thirsty and wants to rest. Gregory and I want to take Mommy to a café."
The little girl didn't hide anything and led Lance towards them.
Inside the café, Deanna and Gregory had already ordered drinks. By now, Deanna had calmed down. She looked at Lance more naturally and said softly, "I ordered you a coffee without sugar and some pasta. Do you need anything else?"
She handed him the menu. Lance took it but set it aside. "What you've ordered is enough."
"Alright then, let's start eating. If it's not enough, we can order more later," Deanna nodded.
Soon, the restaurant staff brought all their drinks and food. Lance sipped his coffee while watching Deanna take care of the children with tender eyes.
Perhaps Deanna noticed that as they spent more time together, they increasingly felt like a family.
Lance was happy to see this development.
Later in the day, after finishing their meal, Lance looked into the amusement park's afternoon activities.
"There's a parade from three to four in the afternoon. Do you want to go see it?" he asked the children.
They eagerly nodded their heads in agreement.
That afternoon, at the main street of the amusement park's entrance, the parade began. The floats paraded from the entrance to the park's theater before ending.
By then, crowds had gathered around the entrance, making it very crowded.
Deanna tightly held onto her children for fear of losing them in the crowd. Lance walked behind them, using his body as a shield to protect them from being jostled by people.
Many girls around noticed this scene and cast envious glances at Deanna.
"I'm so jealous of that lady; she has such a considerate husband."
"I'm really envious; not only is her husband great but also handsome! And they have such adorable kids!"
"I'm single. I can't stand PDA!"
Though these voices weren't loud or soft either, Deanna vaguely heard some of them and blushed slightly.
Unseen by her, Lance's smile widened even more.
Just then, someone shouted that the parade was starting again as people surged forward to watch.
Deanna curiously looked over and saw that leading was a medieval-style noble carriage with an actress playing Snow White sitting on it.
Following behind were several brightly colored floats with performers dressed as various cartoon characters standing or sitting on them.
