Chapter 391: Beginning Treatment

Deanna saw Lance's condition and frowned deeply.

The reason was simple; according to her expectations, today's treatment should have expelled at least one-third of the toxins.

However, looking at the poisonous blood oozing from Lance's wound, it was nowhere near one-third.

The toxin seemed incredibly strong.

"This is just a small portion of the toxin. It looks like it will take some time to expel all of it," Deanna said, standing up and walking over to Lance to start removing the needles.

She didn't forget to instruct Braylon, who was standing nearby, "Feed him the medicinal soup I prepared earlier."

Braylon had many questions at that moment but followed Deanna's instructions. After all, with her here, he would have plenty of opportunities to ask later.

After drinking the medicine, Lance was helped back onto the hospital bed. Everyone present could visibly see the change in him. Although Lance's face was still pale, it no longer had the deathly gray hue it had before.

Xavier saw this and finally breathed a sigh of relief, his heart easing somewhat.

"Dr. Deanna, with this treatment, when will Mr. Mercer wake up?" he asked, his concern evident.

It wasn't surprising he was so worried. The news of Mr. Mercer's condition had leaked, causing turmoil within the company. Even though the chairman was holding things together, projects and stock prices were still affected. Some even demanded to see Lance, threatening to cancel collaborations if they couldn't.

Deanna didn't know these details but could tell from Xavier's face that something urgent was going on. She pursed her lips and replied, "Based on my initial expectations, three treatments would suffice for Mr. Mercer to wake up. But given the current situation with the toxins, it will take at least seven treatments, meaning about a week."

"A week is too long. Dr. Deanna, isn't there any other way?" Xavier asked, frowning.

Deanna shook her head. "This is already the fastest method."

Braylon understood why Xavier was so anxious and stepped forward unceremoniously. "You really don't know your place. When no one could detoxify him, you were begging everyone. Now that there's a way, you're pushing your luck. Can the Mercer Group not operate without Lance? Let me be clear: once Lance wakes up, I won't allow him to overwork. He needs proper rest."

Deanna agreed wholeheartedly with Braylon's words. She nodded in agreement and said, "Dr. Cohen is right. Even if Mr. Mercer wakes up, he won't be able to return to work immediately. He needs a good period of rest."

Seeing Deanna's serious expression, Xavier knew she wasn't joking. Although he felt troubled, he said nothing more.

Deanna stayed with Lance for a while longer to ensure there were no issues before asking Xavier to take her back to rest. She needed to be in top condition for the daily treatments over the next week.

Braylon remained in the ward to observe but was internally shaken by what he had just witnessed. The treatment seemed like something out of a TV drama! Could someone really save a life with just acupuncture?

As he pondered this new reality, several doctors hurried into the room. Seeing Braylon standing in the center, they quickly asked about the treatment.

"How did it go? Did that quack manage to detoxify him?"

Braylon looked at his colleagues with a complex expression, unsure how to respond.

The doctors, unaware of his inner turmoil, pressed him again when he didn't answer. "Why aren't you saying anything? Did the treatment fail?"

"... Check the instruments yourself," Braylon finally said before exhaling deeply and leaving the ward. He needed to find a place to calm down. Of course, he arranged for a nurse to monitor the ward before leaving.

As soon as he stepped out, exclamations erupted from inside the ward.

"My God, am I seeing things? The data on the instruments has improved significantly!"

"Could it be that Chiaz woman wasn't lying? Can she really treat him?"

"But she only used herbs and those golden needles. How could she cure him?"

"I can only say that Chiaz is indeed a mysterious country."

That evening, Deanna woke up hungry. Groggily sitting up in bed, she glanced at her phone and was surprised to see it was already six o'clock in the evening. She hadn't expected to sleep so long.

After a quick wash, Deanna opened her door and headed downstairs. As soon as she stepped out, she heard laughter coming from below. Curious, she walked over to the railing and saw Samantha in the living room with two little ones, all smiling and chatting happily.
