Chapter 354: The Two Little Ones Stirring Up Trouble

Deanna's treatment plan involved acupuncture combined with herbal medicine.

Later, after finishing the acupuncture, she sat nearby and began writing the prescription.

Grace, sitting next to her, admired Deanna's elegant handwriting more and more, and couldn't help but wink at her son.

Her eyes seemed to say, "This girl is nice; you should seize the opportunity."

Kade understood and smiled but said nothing.

Seeing this, Grace's eyes brightened. Her son didn't object, which meant there was hope.

Immediately, she became even more enthusiastic towards Deanna.

"Anna, can I call you that?"

She deliberately changed the way she addressed her to get closer.

Deanna naturally wouldn't refuse an elder's goodwill and nodded.

Little did she know, this was just the beginning.

"Anna, how old are you? Do you have a boyfriend? I think you and Kade are quite a match. You were senior and junior in school; that's quite a special bond, don't you think?"

Deanna didn't know how to respond and could only smile, casting a pleading look at Kade.

Kade found it funny and quickly helped Deanna out of the situation. "Mom, don't scare Deanna, or she might not dare to come over and treat you next time."

"Alright, I won't interfere." Grace said this while giving the two of them a mischievous look.

Deanna felt very embarrassed and quickly finished writing the prescription. She stood up and said, "There are a few herbs in this prescription that only I have. I'll prepare them later and bring them over to you."

"No need for you to deliver them. Just let me know when they're ready, and I'll come pick them up."

Kade was very considerate and shook his head, refusing Deanna's offer to deliver the medicine.

Seeing this, Deanna didn't insist.

That afternoon, after preparing the medicine, she called Kade.

When Kade arrived, he saw Old Ashley in the living room and greeted her proactively. "Grandma, you haven't changed much over the years."

"And you are?"

Old Ashley found Kade somewhat familiar but couldn't recall who he was.

Deanna happened to hear this as she came out of the pharmacy and explained with a smile, "Grandma, this is my senior from university. You met him when you visited me at school."

Hearing this, Old Ashley finally remembered.

"I remember now. It's Kade. I heard you went abroad for further study."

"Yes, I studied abroad for a few years and recently returned to start my own business," Kade answered truthfully.

Old Ashley nodded and looked at the medicine packet in Deanna's hand with concern. "Is someone in your family sick?"

"It's my mother. She has been having headaches. I heard my junior is studying medicine and has quite a reputation, so I asked Deanna to take a look."

Kade praised Deanna while explaining.

Deanna smiled modestly. "It's just an undeserved reputation."

After speaking, she handed over the medicine and explained how to use it.

"Thank you for your help."

Kade expressed his gratitude and then asked, "How much is the consultation fee? I'll transfer it to you."

Deanna thought for a moment and shook her head to decline.

"No need for a consultation fee. I'm not sure if I can help your mother yet."

Back in university, this senior had helped her a lot too.

Seeing that Deanna wasn't being polite but sincere, Kade didn't insist but changed his approach and invited her. "In that case, I'd like to invite you and your grandmother to dinner tonight."

"I won't go; you two go ahead. I have to pick up the kids later." Old Ashley shook her head to decline.

Deanna originally didn't plan to go either, but Kade was very sincere, so she finally agreed. "Then please wait for me; I'll change my clothes before we leave."

In the evening, when the two little ones came back and didn't see their mommy, they asked.

"Great-grandma, where did our mommy go?"

"Your mommy went out to dinner with a university classmate." Old Ashley didn't hide it.

The two little ones, being mischievous, continued to ask, "A university classmate? Is it a man or a woman?"

"It's your mommy's former colleague from the student council. He helped your mommy a lot back then." Old Ashley explained with a smile.

The two little ones blinked their eyes and suddenly concluded, "So it's a man."

Old Ashley was momentarily speechless and looked at the two little ones with amusement and exasperation. She decided not to continue this topic and urged them, "Go do your homework; I'll make dinner for you."

Later that evening, just as the three of them finished dinner, Lance arrived late.

As soon as he entered the house, he noticed something was off and asked, "Is Dr. Deanna not here?"

"Mommy went out to dinner with a university classmate. It's a man."

"Great-grandma said he used to work with mommy in the student council. They must be very close."

The two little ones spoke like they were performing a comedy routine.

Even though Lance understood their intentions, he felt inexplicably annoyed but didn't know why.

Old Ashley watched the two little ones stirring up trouble and found it both amusing and exasperating. "You two, stop talking nonsense."
