Deanna's emotions surged, feeling as if her blood was flowing backward in her body. A taste of blood filled her mouth as she bit her tongue, suppressing all her emotions.
Deanna's sharp gaze pierced Emily, her voice chilling to the bone.
"Is that so? Should I thank you for your kindness and sisterly love? Unfortunately, my mother only gave birth to me, I have no sister. A mistress's illegitimate daughter who climbed her way up, don't try to associate with me here."
Her words were sharp, directly mocking Emily's background.
As this was said, Mia and Emily's faces changed, and Garrett's expression darkened.
The public opinion shifted, targeting them.

Someone whispered, eliciting a chorus of disapproval.

Deanna clenched her teeth, glaring at Garrett with frustrated eyes.

Mr. Cole was a little displeased. Did she want to back out?
"I'm Jared Cole, the chairman of Cole Group. Your father has agreed to betroth you to my son. This matter has already been settled!"
He raised his voice abruptly, giving her a stern look.

If the Jones family backed out later, they would lose credibility.

He wasn't surprised at all, coldly saying, "Without even informing you, you rebellious girl! Cole family, especially Jared, is a prominent figure. Marrying into it is your honor!"

Mia chimed in, "Yes, Deanna, just get married. Cole family is a good place to go. Both your dad and I are very satisfied. Uncle Jared likes you a lot and even named you specifically to be his daughter-in-law!"
She smiled happily, while Emily smirked, feeling triumphant.

Meanwhile, Lance and Xavier had just arrived at the entrance to the banquet hall.
Everyone was drawn to the commotion caused by Deanna, and nobody noticed them.
"Master, is this the right place?"
Xavier asked skeptically, looking at his watch to confirm they hadn't come to the wrong place.
Lance frowned and nodded.
There was no one in the guest seats, and the bride and groom were nowhere to be seen.
"Is this really a wedding? It feels more like a village gathering."
Xavier muttered.
Everyone stood in the corner, gathered together, constantly looking inside.
This scene seemed eerie no matter how you looked at it.
"There aren't even greeters or invitation collectors. The marriage between the Jones family and the Howard family is truly unique."
Xavier pushed his glasses and pinched the invitation card in his hand.

Lance said in a low voice, his pupils shrinking as he looked towards the center of the crowd.

He took a long step, walking towards the crowd.
"The Miss of the Jones family has unexpectedly become the daughter-in-law of the Cole family without a sound."
"The Jones family has really put on quite a show for us."
