Chapter 33 Make Deanna Lose Face in Public

Garrett was taken aback by Mr. Cole's question, so engrossed in talking that he forgot to call Deanna.

He chuckled self-deprecatingly, "Look at me, too caught up in my happiness. Let me call her and ask, Mr. Cole, please wait a moment."

He left and hurriedly called Deanna.

Deanna saw him from afar, her face filled with mockery.

She came here to take her mother's belongings. When it was done, she would leave without hesitation.

So, she walked up to him, her voice cold, "No need to make the call."

Garrett saw her approaching, sounding displeased, "Why did you just show up?"

He looked her up and down, a look of disdain on his face, "Why are you dressed so poorly? Don't you know what occasion it is? You're making a fool of yourself."

After speaking, he even rolled his eyes.

If Mr. Cole saw Deanna, he might think the Jones family was a humble family and disdain them.

The eldest daughter of Jones family was dressed like a beggar. That's so embarrassing!

Fortunately, the son of the Cole family wasn't much better. The Cole family wouldn't reject Deanna.

Hearing his disdainful tone, Deanna couldn't help but find it amusing. Her biological father was as snobbish as before.

She laughed coldly and glanced at him, "You don't think I came to attend their wedding, do you? I came here to take my mother's belongings and leave. I don't need to dress up and waste time."

'Emily took away what belonged to me. The Jones family would be delusional to think I was here to send blessings to Emily.'

Deanna reached out impatiently and said, "Give me my mother's belongings!"

Garrett's face turned cold, he stood with his hands behind his back, showing no intention of giving her anything.

"Why the rush? I didn't just call you here for this thing."

She felt a chill in her heart. Sure enough, he had ulterior motives.

She coldly asked, "Then what did you call me here for?"

No matter what his purpose was, she would never cooperate with him.

Just as Garrett was about to answer, a sharp, slightly old-fashioned female voice came, "Oh my, isn't this Deanna?"

It was Mia standing not far away. She seized the opportunity and came over at the right time, deliberately raising her voice.

Deanna was stunned, staring at her with disgust.

It was this disgusting woman again, not only disgusting but also hypocritical.

She ignored Mia's words, turned her face away with a cold expression.

Mia pretended not to notice her reaction and continued to raise her voice, saying, "Deanna, when did you arrive? Why didn't you let me know? I thought you didn't want to come to your sister and Raphael's wedding!"

The voice was not loud but not small either. It instantly attracted the attention of countless guests.

They put down their glasses and curiously looked over here.

For a moment, Deanna became the center of attention.

A flash of cold light appeared in her eyes as Deanna stared sharply at Mia. 'This old hag said those words on purpose because she wanted to see me lose face in public. So what?'

Mia looked calmly at her, who had become the focus of public opinion.

Sure enough, whispers started around them. "It's her."

"I thought she wouldn't come!"

"I forgot what her name was, something like Deanna."

"Deanna, her name is Deanna Jones!"

People around pointed and whispered about Deanna. She stood still in place, closing her eyes.

Some people didn't recognize her and curiously asked the person next to them, "Who is she?"

The expressions on the faces of the surrounding guests were varied.

Some showed an expression of watching a show and explained with crossed arms, "She's the eldest daughter of the Jones family who was kicked out!"

Garrett also felt somewhat uncomfortable. This was very embarrassing for the Jones family.

"She's so beautiful. Why was she kicked out?"

Someone exclaimed that despite her plain attire, she was no less beautiful than her sister who became a star.

"Six years ago, she was supposed to be engaged to Raphael, the heir of the Howard family. But on the eve of the engagement, she ran away and had an affair with another man. It even made headlines! Her mother committed suicide because of this."

Discussions broke out among the crowd.

"I didn't expect her to be this kind of person. Serves her right!"

"She really brings shame to the Jones family. Shameless woman!"

"But... it's quite pitiful how things turned out for her."

People talked in a flurry while Deanna remained calm on her face, clenching her fists.

The scandals about her which she had buried for six years were disclosed once again.

Though she had stopped thinking about it, but it was a stigma that she could never shake.
