Deanna felt something was off, even though she didn't say anything more about it. After all, this was indeed a solution, and she had agreed with Erin. Now that she had tried on the wedding dress, she couldn't back out halfway. That wasn't her style.
Later, as everyone finished discussing the details, it was nearly lunchtime. Erin decided they would all have lunch together. Considering that Deanna and the others were Chiaz people, they ended up going to a Chinese restaurant.
After sitting down, Erin asked Deanna to order. Deanna wanted to decline, feeling it wasn't her place with elders present, but Amy didn't take up the task, so Deanna ordered a few dishes.
"Mr. Mercer doesn't like cilantro, so please don't add it to the squirrel fish, and for the other two dishes, don't make them too spicy," Deanna naturally mentioned Lance's dietary preferences. Lance and the kids were used to it, but Amy's eyes sparkled. Knowing each other's likes and dislikes so well, and being so in sync, they didn't look like ordinary friends...
Erin also glanced between them, showing a smile with an unclear meaning.
After lunch, Erin and Amy left for work-related matters. Leaving the restaurant, Lance looked at the beautiful woman beside him and asked, "Where do you want to go next?"
"Let's just walk around," Deanna replied casually, not knowing where to go.
Lance nodded and started wandering around with Deanna. Because they had to shoot an advertisement, they postponed their return by a few days. Soon, the day of the shoot arrived.
As it was an outdoor shoot, the Nacoco team came early in the morning with their equipment to pick up Deanna and the others from the hotel. The team was quite large. They arranged three RVs for Deanna, Lance, and the kids to get ready.
Besides the wedding dress, there were also several outfits from the wedding series that needed to be shot. Since getting into the RV, Deanna was seated for makeup. After what seemed like a long time, just when Deanna was about to fall asleep, someone finally said it was done.
"Miss Jones, you can change into the wedding dress now, and once you're ready, just step out of the RV," said a cheerful white woman.
Deanna nodded, stood up, and followed the assistant into the RV to change. About ten minutes later, she carefully stepped out in her high heels.
"Mummy..." Chloe immediately ran over happily upon seeing Deanna.
Unexpectedly, probably because she hadn't worn high heels for a long time, Deanna was unsteady and fell backward. Everyone panicked, as a fall could leave marks on the pure white wedding dress. Luckily, Lance appeared just in time, catching her in his arms.
"Are you okay?" He asked, looking down at Deanna with concern, his eyes suddenly becoming deeper, as from his angle, he had an unobstructed view of her chest.
Deanna noticed his gaze and, with a start, quickly covered her chest and stood up, blushing. Lance, seeing her shy reaction, smiled slightly, feeling inexplicably pleased.
His gaze then fell on Deanna's feet, and after a moment of thought, he told a staff member nearby, "Bring a pair of slippers."
Deanna, realizing Lance was helping her, felt it might be inappropriate to wear slippers for the shoot. "I'm fine, let's just go with this," she softly stopped him.
Lance, seeing her expression, easily read her thoughts and smiled, explaining, "The slippers are just for now. You'll change back for the shoot."
"Oh, okay," Deanna replied, feeling a bit embarrassed, but sweetened inside.
Chloe, knowing she had almost caused an accident, walked up to Deanna and apologized, "Sorry, mummy, I shouldn't have rushed over and almost made you fall."
"It's okay, mummy knows you didn't mean to," Deanna patted Chloe's shoulder affectionately. She intended to ruffle Chloe's hair but noticed the delicate princess crown on her head and instead complimented, "Chloe looks so cute today, like a little angel."
"Mummy is also very beautiful, ten times more beautiful than that day," Chloe praised Deanna sincerely.
Lance found their conversation amusing. At that moment, a middle-aged man with a beard and somewhat scruffy appearance walked over.
"Miss Jones, Mr. Mercer, I'm Edward, today's photographer," he introduced himself before discussing the shoot details.
